Joel shuts his book and sighs to himself. Isilian Enchantment is complicated - it’s not quite artistic like Larassan magic, but it also isn’t structured like Heildish or Annalisan magic. The magic seems to twist back on itself multiple times and creates artificial layers that make it hard to wrap one’s mind around them.
He stands up and his thoughts trail around him as his mind moves through other theories, and then he sees the Baroness Centri and his thoughts center. Giovanni avoids her so much. What happened, and what did he see that the Toosha Tav took an interest in?
Joel replaces his book back into the bag he has on loan from Lord Normoth and goes in search of Giovanni. He notes where Gio’s mother is, and he decides to start in the areas of the ship that are the furthest removed from her. Eventually he finds him below deck helping move crates and supplies around… and double checking them all to make sure there are no more surprise “guests”.
“Lord Giovanni, may I speak with you?”
