A copy of this note was enclosed with each sending stone sent to be delivered.
----
Given the circumstances, I thought it would be best that we have a baseline method of long-distance communication without a complete dependency on a mage with access to the sending spell. To remedy this, I was able to make arrangements with Talath to create a network of interconnected sending stones.
The magic on it is limited to one usage per day, but it can also be utilized as a focus to ensure conventional castings of the the sending spell find their target whether their location is known or not. So it can be temporarily passed to a mage for that purpose if needed. This includes cross-planar communication with a... small chance of failure (roughly 5%), but ideally no one should find themselves on another plane.
As of writing this missive, the connected sending stones are as follows:
- Mine
- Talath's
- Ann'da's (once received)
- Aunt Sylvanas's (once received)
- Arator's (once received)
- And Gil's
I have also made arrangements with Talath to make stones for the rest of the family to be delivered once we are able to get them through the ban'dinoriel, and uncle Rhonin, Giramar, and Galadin will have their's at earliest convenience given they and Talath live in the same place. I'll send notice once I'm informed they're active.
There are a few theories about the capability possibly being upgraded in the future, but for the time being, at least some capability is better than none. I hope they'll be useful.
