Charlotte's head naturally canted to the side as Jesse spoke, a look of vexation crossed her face. That quickly melted into her sitting up straighter upon the words ducks in a row and confidence. Her eyes widened and she leaned onto the table with one elbow, one hand came up to cover her face. Charlotte turned to the side, looking away from Jesse. Her fingers covered her face and between them was the unmistakable flush of red beneath. What a joke.
"Well, uh, thanks, for one. I think?" Charlotte said on a sharp exhale, before wiping her hand down her face. Her hands clasped together, flush not entirely gone before she continues, "If it's hard to explain, thanks for trying. At least on the put together part, thanks. I am trying really hard."
Slowly, as she paced her words methodically, she let her shoulders relax again. The poise returned soon there after, mid speech as she collected her thoughts and shock left her system.
"If you want to, the miss thing is fine. It doesn't really bother me." She nodded, finally looking back to Jesse, "Just... I'm in this with you. You, and Lynn, and everyone else. I think I'm just kinda good at handling things. You can't move forward if things aren't handled. It doesn't make me better than you, that's... not giving yourself enough credit. Okay?"
