Kilnar's covered her mouth as it opened ever slightly as she eyed the traveler up and down, taking in every inch of the strange elf.
My word, she thought, her aghast face morphing into a smile as she looked up at the man who could barely stand straight in her cabin at a ten-foot clearance.
Her eyes drank in the man from top to bottom. He was tall, taller than any elf she had ever seen before. His skin was pale, with a lavender hue, and his eyes were larger, wider on average, than that of a high elf. Strapped to his back was a scythe, though in appearance it seemed almost more an ancient branch fused to a massive fang. As he spoke, she caught the size of his prominent canines as well; another difference... until perhaps more recently.
She banished that concern to the back of her mind and focused back to the monumental discovery before her. A real, living kaldorei, if her research and hypothesis was correct. She had never believed in the various religions that had risen and fallen over the years, neither the Light nor the sunny interpretations ascribed to by many of the elves, but perhaps she might have ton consider after this stroke of luck.
"No," she responded ancient elvish - in what she excitedly expected was his native language, - "You most certainly haven't been. But perhaps, somehow, despite all logic and reason, the dragon may not be the most important discovery the Gold Standard has stumbled upon thus far."
She joined his bow with a deep curtsey, one hand on her chest as the other flared her dress. For the time being, she switched to Common, which the stranger seemed quite fluent in, if not accented, for the benefit of Tae'shara - but she fully intended on flexing her own comprehension of his native language later on. "But I can assure you, the pleasure is all mine. I am Kilnar Goldensword. I represent the Quel'dorei as the Seeker of Wisdom; as such, it is my responsibility to find all the interesting things this world has to offer and bring them back to my people so we might all grow stronger from it. And you, my dear friend, are an exceptionally interesting thing indeed." She bubbled with a thousand questions, but suppressed them. It would be a long journey, after all. She pulled her chair around and spun it facing the center of the room before gesturing to the nearby bed, that he might take a seat if he wished. "What is your name, my dear? And do you need anything? I wager taking the form of a rodent for a month at sea would leave a man of your..." she looked him up and down once again, "exceptional stature quite famished. I can hardly provide a banquet, but..." she trailed off, allowing the absence of explanation to fill the query.
