Vel gave a final nod of her head in acknowledgement, the humorless smile still on her lips, and allowed the spell to drop. The thick mist that was permeating the borders of the open, winter pathway flowed into the grove and quickly consumed the scene of the dream as it faded away, and her eyes slid open, the faint, arcane glow in them dispersing with the last magics of the spell.
She was back in the room that the Reliquary had provided. Arkha'din was curled into a tight ball at her side, and he only stirred slightly as his Mistress shifted to run her hands down her face, her eyes fixed on the dark ceiling.
