Madcap Manifestation

6th-Level Transmutation
Casting Time: 1 bonus action
Range: Self
Components: VSM($) (an object engraved with a symbol a plane of Chaos, worth at least 500 gp)
Duration: Instantaneous

Uttering an incomprehensible incantation, you draw on the magic of the planes of chaos to transform yourself. You gain the following benefits until the spell ends:
  • You are resistant to force damage. When you take damage, this damage resistance changes to the types of the damage received until you take damage again.
  • You project a magical illusion that makes you appear to be standing near its actual location, causing attack rolls against it to have Disadvantage. If you are hit by an attack, this benefit is disrupted until the end of your next turn. This benefit is also disrupted while your movement speed is 0.
  • You gain the ability to defy gravity, giving you a hovering flying speed of 40 feet.
  • All your weapon attacks are magical, and when you make a weapon attack, you can use your spellcasting ability modifier, instead of Strength or Dexterity, for the attack and damage rolls.
  • Once per turn when you deal damage to one or more objects or creatures, you may choose to deal an additional 1d12 damage of a type you are resistant to from this spell to one target.
  • When you cast this spell, and as a reaction when you or another creature you can see within 60 feet of you casts a spell, you may conjure a flux of Wild Magic. Roll on the Wild Magic chart, with the spell's caster as the source of the effect. When you use this ability on another creature, you may force that creature to make a Charisma saving throw. On a failure, the creature's spell fails and has its effects replaced by the Wild Magic Surge.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 7th level, the duration is concentration, up to 10 minutes. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 9th level, the duration is concentration, up to 1 hour.
