Nekros was among those that fought against the rogue members of his clan under Mor'ghor who were loyal to Sinestra when they attempted to flee back through the Dark Portal with the woman's experiments. In the wake of the survivors' flight, he chose to take charge of the clan in order to show that those of the Dragonmaw that remained were loyal to the Horde.
