You are able to learn 3 qualities from one ounce of fresh blood as long as it is not more than 24 hours old. You may choose these qualities from the list below:
- Learn the creature's given name
- Learn the creature's type
- Learn the creature's age (if applicable)
- Learn the creature's gender (if applicable)
- Learn if the blood carries any traces of poison or disease
- Learn if the creature is within 20 miles of your location
- Learn if the creature is still on your plane of existence
- Learn if the creature is alive or dead
If you cast the spell using a spell slot, in addition to the information learned above, you will also see a brief glimpse of the moment right before the creature shed blood, from its perspective.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell of using a spell slot of 3rd level or higher, you may learn one additional quality for each slot level above 2nd. In addition, when you cast this spell use a spell slot of 5th level or higher, the qualities you can choose from are expanded to include the following:
- Learn the creature's true name
- Learn if the creature has any natural immunities or resistances
- Learn if the creature has any natural vulnerabilities
- Learn the creature's CR
