Vengeance

9th-level Conjuration
Casting Time: 1 action
Range: 60 feet
Components: VSM($) (a dagger made of flint and obsidian worth at least 1,500 gp)
Duration: (C) 1 minute

You let out a scream of anguish and hatred, letting your blood. As it touches the ground, a giant specter reflecting your rage and suffering rises from it. It then raises spirits of vengeance from the bodies of your allies, who all then converge upon your enemies.
When you cast this spell, deal 1d4 slashing damage to yourself, which ignores resistance and immunity. You then summon an Avatar of Vengeance and a number of spirits of vengeance equal to the damage you took + your spellcasting ability modifier, which must appear over the bodies of your fallen allies. If there are not enough bodies, less spirits may be summoned. Roll initiative for the avatar and spirits, which have its own turns. They obey any verbal commands that you issue to it (no action required by you). If you don't issue any commands to the avatar or spirits, they focus all of their attention on the creature you hate the most.
The avatar may create additional Spirits of Vengeance with its abilities, but if the Avatar is destroyed or the spell ends, all Spirits of Vengeance disappear with the avatar.
