July 29th

O’ros hovers overhead as the group is led into the meeting chamber that mysterious night elven woman had been brought into. Kor’vas and Illidan had arrived, as had Thalyss. Already present, there was Velen, Nobundo, Ishanah, and two other draenei: one of them is an older, large draenei in Vindicator armor with a well-maintained mustache and goatee and a prominent forehead crest.

Maraad says: Vindicator Aesom.
Aesom says: Maraad.

He is clearly the representative of the Vindicators. The other draenei has wild, gunmetal grey hair with lighter armor. One of his tentacles has a burn scar, and there is an ever-present char-like grease on parts of his armor. He has a device over one of his eyes that vaguely resembles a monocle, and there are various tools on his belt.

Maraad says: That is Grand Artificer Romuul. He is in charge of our repairs.

Remnii offers a respectful bow.

Remnii says: Good to meet you, Exarch Romuul. And good to see you again, Exarch Aesom.

She then looks at Uther and points up at O’ros.

Remnii says: Uther, I believe you should get to know the naaru as there are some gracing us with their presence. This is O’ros.

Uther nods his head respectfully, and he feels the naaru’s presence reach out to him in a greeting. There is a warm and non-oppressive feeling in Uther’s heart, his meeting touching his heart.

Uther Menethil says: O’ros.
Remnii says: O’ros served under A’dal, the core of which you have already known. But I am happy to introduce you. There is much they can share, as they have for our people for many years.
Uther Menethil says: It is an honor beyond words.

Velen offers a heavy smile.

Velen says: I apologize for interrupting your convalescence, but it seems our guest has asked you to be present in person.
Night Elf Scout says: My sincerest apologies, but I believe the things I wish to speak of are of the utmost importance, and I believe all of us will benefit from having a conversation. So thank you, Master Velen, for agreeing to meet with me.
Velen says: Of course. I would ask you reveal your name to us, but you seem inclined to keep that a guarded secret.
Night Elf Scout says: Regrettably, it must be so. It could bring danger to my organization, and also to you, but as soon as I can reveal my identity safely, I will do so. I take no pleasure in skulking, but sometimes it must be done to preserve safety.

Velen nods.

Velen says: Allow me to introduce those who you are meeting with then.

Velen goes around and introduces everyone and provides their rankings.

Night Elf Scout says: And I see none other than Illidan Stormrage is here as well. Interesting.

She gives a quiet chuff.

Illidan Stormrage says: I hope you aren’t thinking of dragging me back.
Night Elf Scout says: I wouldn’t dream of it. It was partially my colleague's idea. That sister Starbreeze made that decision is about on par for her, but I trusted her before, and I won’t stop now. I hope she didn’t make a mistake in suggesting these people liberate you.
Illidan Stormrage says: I suppose that remains to be seen.
Night Elf Scout says: As I said, I represent the Unseen Path. Sister Morra Starbreeze is a colleague and old friend. She has done work for us, and we have been carefully monitoring the situation between my people and yours. We have every reason to believe that the demons of the Burning Legion are behind the increasing tensions.
Remnii says: I have also been able to confirm such things.
Night Elf Scout says: Those able to confer with Elune have a similar conclusion. I would rather think this goes deeper than it appears. I have trusted individuals doing what they can to learn more, and we’ve been able to identify a number of troublesome pieces of information. It comes to little surprise that the satyrs are involved, but wherever demons dwell satyrs are rarely found far away. Thus, I think it’s worth investigating the various sects, and we may find the source. To that end, my concerned colleagues and I have started to investigate key locations where activity has been increasing. The Felwood is not the least of such places. But I want you all to know that more people have heard of your impassioned pleas to the high priestess, and many believe you in spite of the unfortunate rumors. But I have a question. When you fled the Barrow prisons, were you responsible for the deaths of any of the Wardens that tried to bar your path?
Remnii says: We were not.
Tol'vas Moonshadow says: We did not kill a single creature, let alone a Warden.
Samaara says: My group also did not inflict any permanent injuries. I cannot guarantee there were no bones broken, but nothing fatal.

The woman nods.

Night Elf Scout says: I see. Then you should know that is not what is being told. Several Watchers were reported slain. You have all been blamed. But I have no reason to disbelieve you. Survivors would agree. It seems some third party was responsible, and is blaming your group for what occurred.

Remnii nods.

Remnii says: This seems to be a running theme…

Remnii goes into loose details about the situation with Jarod Shadowsong.

Night Elf Scout says: Is Master Shadowsong well?
Remnii says: In convalescence.
Night Elf Scout says: And he has not betrayed us?
Remnii says: No.
Night Elf Scout says: I found it hard to believe that a hero like him would do so. No offense, Remnii, but I believe some of the stories being told of you are grossly misrepresented.
Remnii says: It would not be the first time.

The woman chuckles.

Night Elf Scout says: On that notion, I can guarantee you the full support of the Unseen Path. My people will be in contact with you through discrete means. If a time comes where we must move, I will see what I can do to gather additional allies. Those sympathetic to your cause, and would see the true villains brought to justice.
Remnii says: I am only sorry that it has taken this for us to meet peacefully. Tyrande visited me last night in…

Remnii pales.

Remnii says: I… she sent a nightmare. It was long. But, she is serious. Your leadership is being deceived. I know you know this, but please take great care.

The scout nods.

Night Elf Scout says: I feared as much as well. Tyrande has been under a great deal of stress between the conflict between our peoples and the disappearance of Malfurion Stormrage--

Illidan bares his teeth slightly.

Night Elf Scout says: She’s been forced to bear a great many burdens. I fear that with the heightened amounts of stress… if the reset has been orchestrated by the demons, it would not be surprising they would be using these events to manipulate her.
Remnii says: Great heartache and sacrifice comes in leadership. But this should not be prolonged. Keep your eyes out for a group called the Hidden. They likely have something to do with it. Denizens of the world we came from before this are among the Hidden, already established on this side of the world. Thus… they are likely well connected.

Remnii gives some topical information about the members that were known.

Night Elf Scout says: Your information is much appreciated. I will pass it along.

Velen’s brow furrows.

Velen says: These satyrs… they are the twisted demons that appear to have physical traits similar to a talbuk? Your goats?
Night Elf Scout says: That is correct. They were night elves once, a long time ago. But they have fallen to corruption and now only spread chaos. It would not be surprising if you found them surrounding the events unfolding around this tragedy.

Kor’vas crosses her arms with a scowl.

Kor'vas Bloodthorn says: Yeah, by and large, satyrs are no good. We need to be on guard. You said that some of them had been discovered in the Felwood?

The scout nods.

Night Elf Scout says: That’s correct. It’s a second of the Ashenvale woods that was affected by the War of the Ancients, and it’s only gotten worse. I see that as likely no coincidence.

Aesom clears his throat.

Aesom says: My superiors that have spoken to me from Azure Watch, Vindicator Boros has informed me that the rangari that are serving there under Naielle. They have seen entities matching such descriptions. Considering its distance from the tree, and the chaos in the Exodar’s crash, I am unsurprised if the demons are using this place as a beachhead to conceal their operations. It is another place we should look at closer.

The scout nods.

Night Elf Scout says: I understand that your people still have a presence on the Silvergale Isles?

Aesom nods.

Night Elf Scout says: If it would please you, I would ask your people take care of that. I can try to redirect Sentinels from heading there. I should be able to falsify reports. Meanwhile, my people can continue to search the Felwood to find something of note.

Aesom nods.

Aesom says: I can send word ahead to Exarch Naielle and the other draenei. As long as you are willing to uphold your word, then we shall uphold ours.
Night Elf Scout says: You have my word. And as added insurance, I will be leaving a dear friend of mine behind, so if you need to contact me, you can.

Aesom nods.

Aesom says: I see. I agree then. That is a wise course of action.

The scout turns to the rest of the group.

Night Elf Scout says: What of you? I wager you have come to Ashenvale with plans of your own?
Remnii says: I have some… loose ideas. But I am not the direct best at plans. I know over the time we had in the Barrow prisons, the Light revealed to me that Ash'alah is able to be raised. This seems a simple thing, but also something more person. I would see her raised. I imagine the crash of the Exodar has drawn a number of eyes. Even if we have draenei in the area, there is still area to cover. Exarch Naielle is very talented… but with the corruption happening, and the fallout, there is a good amount of chaos that can be hidden. I would like to make a goal of that.

She looks at Tol’vas.

Remnii says: Also if you have leads on your Malfurion. I believe there are some answers to be found from eyes that were there that day. But I would like to offer Ash’alah back, and she may also know something of what happened. That is a current idea using what resources we do have. That is where my ideas go cold.
Velameestra Windrunner says: If patrols are being redirected from the Silvergale Isles for the time being it may allow us to operate in a way to gather information without being bothered.
Remnii says: I have a way to return here if we wish to make this a safe place to be. But otherwise… if the redirection is happening, this may be a good opportunity.
Night Elf Scout says: I do know that Ash’alah was slain on the Silvergale Isles--the ones you called Azuremyst Isles due to the corruption your fallen star has caused. If you wish to commune with her, you will find her spirit there.
Remnii says: I will not be able to understand the heart of Elune as you, but Tyrande told me Ash’alah was unfindable… so I believe there has been trouble from the beginning.
Night Elf Scout says: Then I suppose it falls to you to find the unfindable.
Remnii says: Whatever will bring this to an end, I intend to.
Romuul says: The other artificeres and personnel that have left to Azuremyst Isle have done what they can to keep hidden and to learn what they can of the crash site. There is a forward camp no more than 100 miles away from the Exodar crash site. I believe that the true mages who are here are maintaining contact with them, and through them the rangari. If you reach out to them, they will be able to help you find a way there. Otherwise you will need to build a boat. But you and your companions have magic ways to traverse great distances, I am told.
Remnii says: Thank you, I believe that’s a wonderful place to start.
Romuul says: We have a workshop of sorts. It is within our section of the enclave provided by the Timbermaw. I believe the true mages are led by Edirah. She would be the one to speak to. When you are ready, if you seek the Isles, then that may be your best place to begin.
Thalyss Greyoak says: Pardon me, miss.

The scout looks to him.

Night Elf Scout says: What can I help you with, honorable druid?
Thalyss Greyoak says: I stumbled upon this group… once you’re prepared to leave, I would like to accompany you. If there’s deception being done here, it’s my duty to help clear the skies. If dark clouds are obscuring Elune’s light, then it falls to those of us to know the skies to clear it.

The scout smiles.

Night Elf Scout says: I would be honored to have you. I don’t have much influence in the druidic circles, your contacts and expertise would be appreciated. You have my gratitude.
Thalyss Greyoak says: And you mine. These people are neither evil nor worshippers of demonic forces.

He glances up at the naaru overhead.

Thalyss Greyoak says: I believe we could all benefit from having some light shed on these incidents.
Night Elf Scout says: If there are any other questions you would have, I can answer them best I can. But that presently concludes everything I had wish to speak of. There’s a lot to take care of.
Illidan Stormrage says: I have one question, sentinel. It sounds to me like you’re prepared to do what it takes to bring this to an end. Why are you so willing to draw steel against the Sentinels? Against Tyrande?
Night Elf Scout says: You mistake me, Lord Illidan. I am not eager to draw steel, but I’ll do what it takes to guide our people to a better tomorrow. The Unseen Path has done so for thousands of years. This tragedy is no different. I believe you of all people would understand that.

Illidan chuffs.

Illidan Stormrage says: Good answer.
Night Elf Scout says: I’m honored you think so, Lord Stormrage.

The woman whistles, and for a moment everyone looks around--but then there is a keening call. A beautiful eagle flies down, its feathers snowy white. It lands on the woman’s arm.

Night Elf Scout says: This is Snowfeather. I’ll be leaving her with you. If you need to contact me or the Unseen Path, simply let her know, and she’ll find one of us.

The eagle looks around and chirps in affirmation. The scout scritches her on the back of the head.

Night Elf Scout says: Just feed her now and then. I wouldn’t want her pilfering. And she’s great with children.

Maraad nods.

Maraad says: Much appreciated. I will make sure the rangari here take care of her.

He holds out his arm, and Snowfeather hops over and pecks at his armor. She looks at him, seemingly peering into his soul before she is handed off to a member of the rangari.

Night Elf Scout says: I should take my leave. The rest of my sisters are waiting, and if I don’t return before too long they may worry. But thank you for meeting me, and next time hopefully we can do so without obfuscation.

The woman bows.

Night Elf Scout says: Until then, may Elune guide your path, and may your weapons strike true.
Remnii says: Thank you for the risks you are taking. Walk with the Light.
Night Elf Scout says: Your thanks are unnecessary. Our duty is to all of Azeroth, and though you may not be from here originally, you are now.

The scout turns and then leaves. Two guards accompany her to return her weapons, and Thalyss also starts to move. However, he looks at Tol’vas.

Thalyss Greyoak says: I guess it was serendipity the dream brought us back together, old friend.
Tol'vas Moonshadow says: Or someone is watching out for us. It was good to see you.
Thalyss Greyoak says: It was. I’ll see you again soon. Whatever lies at the end of this mystery, I’m sure we can illuminate it. But perhaps next time we’ll be able to catch up a bit longer.
Tol'vas Moonshadow says: I have no doubt I will have many more strange stories to tell.

The rest of the group starts to disperse, and Thalyss reaches into his satchel and removes a simple seed.

Thalyss Greyoak says: Here. In case something happens, or in case you find somewhere that calls to you. Somewhere you believe reminds you of the Emerald Dream, bury this seed in the earth and tend to it.

Tol’vas takes the seed.

Tol'vas Moonshadow says: I don’t suppose you’re going to tell me what will happen?
Thalyss Greyoak says: I don’t know what will happen. Seeds from the Emerald Dream work in mysterious ways. You may find a garden, or you may find something greater. That depends on the soil in which you plant it, and the heart you plant with it.
Tol'vas Moonshadow says: I will take great care in choosing such a place.
Thalyss Greyoak says: I believe you will.

Thalyss pats him on the shoulder.

Thalyss Greyoak says: Until next time. And for the rest of you, thank you for not being the monsters you were accused of. Otherwise I would be in much worse straits.
Remnii says: Thank you for giving us the chance in turn.

Thalyss smiles and heads off after the scout.

Tol'vas Moonshadow says: Hopefully it won’t be a few thousand years before I see him again.
Elissa Cross says: Hopefully not. He was nice! Much nicer than that archdruid Staghelm.
Tol'vas Moonshadow says: Yeah. He’s young still. And I have no doubt someone coming in after Archdruid Malfurion has a lot to live up to.
Illidan Stormrage says: So he’s the one trying to replace my brother?
Tol'vas Moonshadow says: Currently.
Illidan Stormrage says: Sounds like you aren’t a fan.
Tol'vas Moonshadow says: No.
Illidan Stormrage says: Well, by that metric, I suppose I should expect I should like him.
Tol'vas Moonshadow says: He’s as gruff as you are.
Illidan Stormrage says: I suppose that remains to be seen.
Tol'vas Moonshadow says: But he thinks he has something to prove. Unlike you.
Illidan Stormrage says: I’ll be sure to keep that in mind if our paths cross.

Tol’vas smirks.

Tol'vas Moonshadow says: Also, he doesn’t seem to like Tyrande much either.

Illidan scowls.

Illidan Stormrage says: Is that so? Seems much has happened in these last 10,000 years.
Tol'vas Moonshadow says: I can only account for about 700 of that.
Illidan Stormrage says: I suppose we’ll have to decide a plan. It sounds like most of you are planning on investigating the death of Ash’alah on the Silvergale Isles, but it may be wise for us to look into the reports of the Felwood ourselves.

Tol’vas nods.

Tol'vas Moonshadow says: I actually agree.
Illidan Stormrage says: I know nothing about this Unseen Path, but I don’t think they’ll be able to discover all this on their own.
Tol'vas Moonshadow says: They also don’t have a skilled demon hunter.
Illidan Stormrage says: They don’t. Which is why I was considering taking a closer look myself. I’m familiar with the Felwood, even if it was before the War of the Ancients. While I’m far from an expert of the land, but I am of demons.
Kor'vas Bloodthorn says: I actually know a thing or two about the Felwood. I’d be happy to accompany you. If you all think that will be alright? I’m not looking to make your plans difficult, but I can’t say the same of our friend here.

She pats Illidan on the arm.

Tol'vas Moonshadow says: Quite frankly I couldn’t stop you even if I wanted to.
Velameestra Windrunner says: Normally splitting tends to be the best way to do things quickly and time seems of the essence.
Tol'vas Moonshadow says: I suppose I need to trust him.
Illidan Stormrage says: You need not pull a muscle, Tol’vas. I have a hard time believing these people hate demons as much as I do, but I would love to be surprised.
Remnii says: The ones you are looking for are on our old homeworld. But perhaps in time.
Samaara says: Our group is large enough that we could send more representatives to aid in the search of the Felwood, provided they were discreet enough to do so. But I’ll leave that to your discretion.
Maraad says: If there is room, I would gladly offer my services to you, Remnii, and the rest of you as well. While I have not returned to the Azuremyst Isles for some time, my knowledge of the operations there may come in handy. If these demons are manipulating my people, you have my might.
Remnii says: Well, what do you all think? It would be an honor to travel with you, Maraad.
Maraad says: It would be like old times. But this time, at least, we are making a change.
Velameestra Windrunner says: If discretion is needed in the Felwood, Samaara, I would imagine you be helpful there?
Samaara says: Yes, I can offer my services to you.
Velameestra Windrunner says: That would also ensure we have direct lines of contact between the groups.
Samaara says: Yes, this is true. Exarch Naielle is also on the Azuremyst Isle, and my presence there will be… superfluous given the information she can provide.

There is some discussion, and Remnii proffers also leaving Riff in the Hold for safety.

Tol'vas Moonshadow says: It also might be a bad idea to leave Riff here for the time being... Given the humans.
Remnii says: If tasked with it, his safety can be ensured.
Tol'vas Moonshadow says: I was more concerned about building tension.
Velameestra Windrunner says: They can take whatever form they desire on that regard.
Remnii says: What do you think, Seria?

Seria is receptive to the idea as long as other people are staying with him, and they suggest maybe Aramar and Makasa can temporarily stay behind for now. The group breaks off to coordinate, and Vel notes a thin, wispy human close in height to Tae’shara. She has a bandana-like hat.

Wispy Woman says: Hey, hi, Duan Phen, good to see you. You’re Aramar’s friends, right? Yeah, you want to come along. Aramar and Makasa are having a bit of a spat.
Velameestra Windrunner says: ...Oh dear.

They hurriedly follow her, and before long they see a circle of marines around the scuffle. There are shouts and jeers, as well as broken crates and a table that was split in half. One marine is helping a man out of the ruins of the table. In the middle of the chaos are Makasa and Aramar in the midst of a wrestling match. Aramar is definitely losing, and Makasa has him in a choke hold. The other man stands up, his nose clearly broken.

There is also a short girl pulling him away, and shouting at the group to stop.

Makasa Flintwill yells: Say it. I want to hear you SAY IT.
Aramar Thorne yells: SHUT UP.

As the group arrives, Vel promptly uses [Wall of Force] to divide the two. Aramar scrabbles to his feet and rushes at Makasa, but then hits the invisible wall.

Aramar Thorne yells: AH. DAMMIT.

Makasa laughs and starts to jeer.

Makasa Flintwill says: Go on, big man, why don’t you say it? Why don’t you say that I don’t care about Greydon? About the Wavestrider? Why don’t you say it?
Aramar Thorne yells: Fuck you!

The crowd starts to boo, and Vel promptly snaps at them to shut up. Aramar storms away, but then sees the group.

Aramar Thorne yells: What do you want?!
Velameestra Windrunner says: We were going to apprise you of the meeting that happened. But apparently something else happened.

Makasa paces on the other side of the wall of force.

Makasa Flintwill says: I would not waste your breath, Velameestra, he thinks his own problems are more important then yours.
Aramar Thorne says: I didn’t say that!
Velameestra Windrunner says: How about we don’t put words in each other’s mouths for the time being? Now. What happened?

Aramar and Makasa are too simmering to talk.

Duan Phen says: Um… they were fine a minute ago. When Aramar came to chat, I think Makasa had too much to drink and started to pick a fight. Last I heard before I came to get you… Aramar told her to mind her own business, and one thing led to another, they started shouting… Silent Joe tried to break them up, but that didn’t go well…

The gruff man grunts, a cloth now on his nose.

Mary Brown says: Guys, why are we fighting? Come on, Makasa, you had a bit too much to drink, I’m sure this is all a misunderstanding. I’m sure he didn’t mean it.
Makasa Flintwill says: You don’t know him like I do! I’ve been stuck with this ingrate for years, and he does not even realize what he has!
Aramar Thorne says: What do you mean what I have?
Makasa Flintwill says: You have an entire family back home, Aramar. One you left. You got a father. But you are so busy trying to chase the dream that you had plugged into your head, that you ran from because you were too afraid, that now you’re trying to say that you know how I feel? You haven’t cared about a single thing I said these last ten years, and don’t pretend you started now!
Remnii says: I believe that’s enough for now. There has been enough of a fuss. Makasa, take a walk.

Makasa shrugs.

Makasa Flintwill says: You do not have to tell me twice.
Remnii says: Thank you.
Makasa Flintwill says: Joe, come with me. I should be able to straighten that nose for ya.

Silent Joe nods and follows after her.

Makasa Flintwill says: I hope I didn’t break it, by the way.

The two other Wavestrider members are left with the group, and Aramar sucks the back of his teeth.

Aramar Thorne says: You didn’t have to get involved you know… but… I guess at this point I should be used to all you cleaning up my messes.
Remnii says: Aramar… bonds that go back that far are complicated. That is simply a fact of life. It can be hundreds of years, or ten, that does not matter. I do not have the full context of what happened, but at least from our end… you… you are tied irrevocably to my people by the sword you carry and your heart you wield it with. I’m assuming both of you are sore, and there is much you need to unpack after cooling off happens…

Aramar looks at the group and his shoulders sag.

Aramar Thorne says: Look… after what they told me, I let my emotions get the better of me. So you’re right, I probably overreacted. There’s a reason there’s only three of them here. My old man might be dead.

The two Wavestrider girls close their eyes.

Mary Brown says: I, uh… it’s nice to meet you by the way. The name is Mary Brown. I was just a deckhand on the Wavestrider, and we’re some of the only ones who survived. Those Hidden folk hit us a few weeks back. Me, Joe, and Duan were the only ones I know survived… we saw most of them cut down. We escaped and shook our tail, but I dunno about the rest of them. I know the Cap’n was on his knees fightin’ the human in charge of their crew… he took his favorite compass and everything. It looked like they were dragging him away, but I dunno if they wanted to keep him alive much longer. We escaped with a few, but we got split up, and I dunno what happened to them. So we’re all that’s left of the Wavestrider now. Makasa told him that before the fight happened…
Aramar Thorne says: And I overreacted, I know. I spent a lot of time trying to find out what I’m going to say to my old man… then he goes and gets himself killed or captured or worse? By this Hidden bastard that might be my uncle?
Mary Brown says: Shit. I didn’t know that…
Remnii says: Grief is a powerful emotion. One that brings pain to the surface.
Duan Phen says: I hate to say what might be obvious, but… Aramar, did you ever think for a second about how that might have hit Makasa?
Remnii says: Well, I was going to say that, but… you have both put a great deal of care in that grief. There will bea myriad of reactions. We know the reason Maksa was with you was because he asked. Directly. They too share, I believe, a strong bond.
Duan Phen says: That’s one way to put it. She practically looked at him like a father after he pulled her out a wreck.
Aramar Thorne says: Yeah… he’s more a father to her than he ever was to me, I guess… Guess I might sound like a pretty big asshole, right?

Duan shrugs.

Duan Phen says: What, you expected us to think you were some perfect goldstar child? We’ve all made mistakes, Aram. Come on. We’ve all gotten into fights… this will be fine. Don’t sweat it.
Remnii says: When you are ready, when you feel your head has cooled… then I believe you and Makasa should have another conversation. One that does not involve breaking noses.

Remnii approaches and starts to summon her healing magics, but Aramar stops her.

Aramar Thorne says: No, I think I deserve these ones. I’ll be alright. I’ll walk it off. I need these to remind me how much of a dick I’ve been. I guess I let this sword go to my head, huh?
Remnii says: As one who has spent time in the presence of the naaru, it’s hard not to. They have a way of making you feel important in a world that may make you feel small. But it’s a lesson you will need to learn.

Aramar sighs.

Aramar Thorne says: Well, you guys wanted to talk about something, right? Sorry, I kind of derailed everything…

Remnii looks to Vel.

Velameestra Windrunner says: Yes, we have our next few steps. There were a few findings that were offered to us concerning the present situation.

Vel gives him the summary of the meeting that had occurred.

Aramar Thorne says: So you need me to stay behind and watch the kid? Yeah, we can do that.
Remnii says: Well, half that. The other half is, before we go, I would like to officially introduce you to my vakas--Velen. If anyone is going to know how to handle the sword… by way of communion with the naaru, it will be him.

Aramar nods.

Aramar Thorne says: Yeah, I guess it’s about time for that, isn’t it? He’s a bit intimidating…
Remnii says: Everyone says that.
Aramar Thorne says: I wonder why. But yeah, that would be a good idea.
Remnii says: If you would like, I can come back in a bit of time if you want a moment’s peace. By the end of the day, though, it would be wise for us to commune together.

Aramar nods.

Mary Brown says: And if you get things all sorted out with Makasa, we’re probably gonna have a send-off for the other members? Share some drinks… I know you weren’t an official member, but your old man was, so I think he’d like you to be there…
Aramar Thorne says: I don’t want to impose.
Duan Phen says: Shut up, Aram, we wouldn’t ask if we didn’t want you to be there.

She wraps an arm around him and musses up his hair.

Duan Phen says: You’re just as serious as the cap’n is.
Aramar Thorne says: I don’t know if that’s helping right now, Duan, but... thanks. I'll, um. I'll be around if you need me. I'm gonna go think for a while. I think.
Velameestra Windrunner says: If you need a place to retreat you, I left your room in the mansion. It's set up in the square.
Aramar Thorne says: I think I will actually, thanks Vel.

Duan pokes her head over Aramar's shoulder.

Duan Phen says: You said there's a mansion?
Velameestra Windrunner says: Yes. There's food if you wanted to go in.
Duan Phen says: I don't see any mansion?
Velameestra Windrunner says: It's through that portal. In the square.

She points at the open portal in the square in the distance.

Duan Phen says: Oh! It's some sort of crazy magic mansion! Oh. I gotta see this. Come on Mary! Aram show us around!

She grabs Aramar's hand and runs off toward the square.

Aramar Thorne says: O-okay!
Mary Brown says: Wait for me!

Mary starts to run, but then stops.

Mary Brown says: Thanks again, for helping. By the way, miss.

She looks at Remnii.

Mary Brown says: I really like your hair, it’s really pretty!
Remnii says: Thank you. And thank you for being there in turn.
Mary Brown says: Don’t mention it! Hey guys, I said wait for me!

She runs off after Duan and Aramar.

Velameestra Windrunner says: I believe we should take care of whatever else we need to do before we leave…
Remnii says: Yes, I think we’ll be ready.
Tol'vas Moonshadow says: Oh, Remnii, actually, I was hoping I could speak with your father, but I have no idea how to go about doing that?
Remnii says: You have come to the correct person. Pending he is not in prayer.
Velameestra Windrunner says: I suppose while you both are doing that I can introduce myself to the mages more formally.
Remnii says: I’m sure they’d love to meet you.

They head back to the center of the village, and Vel splits off. Tol’vas and Remnii notes Velen speaking with a few furbolgs, including one that seems to be the leader. Divinius and the other Light’s Chosen are ever-present.

Divinius says: Master Velen is currently speaking with the chieftain of these people and their aspiring acolytes, but I’m sure he can see you.
Remnii says: We have all day. Thank you, Divinius.

It is not long before Tol’vas and Remnii head in as the furbolg begin to leave.

Velen says: Remnii.
Remnii says: Vakas. I never get tired of seeing you.
Velen says: I don’t believe such is possible. Where are my manners. This is Grazle, the chieftain of the Timbermaw tribe.

He gestures to the furbolg leader.

Grazle says [furbolg]: Glad am I to meet you. Heard much of Velen’s cub. You bring him sunshine and happiness.

Remnii smiles, placing a hand over her heart.

Remnii says [tongues]: Your words honor me, chieftain. I am simply happy to be home, and am I even more thankful that your people have opened your home to us.
Grazle says [furbolg]: Only right is it that we reciprocate for safety and knowledge granted.

Velen nods.

Velen says: A number of their kin have shown a great interest in the naaru and seek to learn more of them. I have been telling them what I know, and allowing them to learn from Ishanah and the other anchorites.
Aspiring Furbolg Acolyte says [furbolg]: The Light is with you!
Remnii says [tongues]: And the Light is also with you.

The furbolg look at each other, shocked.

Aspiring Furbolg Acolyte says [furbolg]: Is it really?
Remnii says [tongues]: Of course it is.

One of the furbolg’s jaws drop.

Remnii says: Speaking of friends…

She moves aside and gestures to Tol’vas.

Remnii says: This is Tol’vas. He wishes to speak with you, vakas, whenever you are ready, anyway.

Grazle’s brow furrows, and he sniffs the air. He moves closer to Tol’vas.

Grazle says [furbolg]: This one has the scent of the gods amongst him.

Remnii translates for Tol’vas’s benefit. Tol’vas blinks.

Tol'vas Moonshadow says: Ah. He must be referring to the… curse. It would be closely related to a blessing from other ancients.
Remnii says: How would you like me to phrase that?
Tol'vas Moonshadow says: However politically you want to.
Remnii says: Ah…
Tol'vas Moonshadow says: Tell him, actually, that I’m touched by Goldrinn’s spirit.
Remnii says: Good!

She looks back to Grazle.

Remnii says [tongues]: He has the blessing of Goldrinn’s spirit upon him.

Grazle nods sagely.

Grazle says [furbolg]: I see. It is that blessing I sense. It is strong on this one. You must be loved by the gods truly. There was another that carried that fragrance, but his is not as strong as yours is.

Remnii pauses.

Grazle says [furbolg]: Does he not speak the old tongue? Many of my kin can understand even if it comes hard to our tongues. The tongue of ancient folk.

They realize he is talking about darnassian.

Remnii says [tongues]: He did say that there may be another worgen here… another that carries your scent.
Tol'vas Moonshadow says [darnassian]: Could you describe what he looks like?
Grazle says [darnassian]: He is small. Hairy. Smells of the sea. He was called the quiet one.
Tol'vas Moonshadow says [darnassian]: Is it one of the humans?
Remnii says [tongues]: We did just meet a Silent Joe…
Tol'vas Moonshadow says [darnassian]: I’ll have to talk to him later then.

Grazle nods.

Grazle says [darnassian]: Honored am I to meet one beloved of the wild gods.

The chieftain bows his head.

Grazle says [darnassian]: We will hog the presence of your sire no longer.

He taps his staff.

Grazle says [furbolg]: Come along, little candles.

The other furbolg follow after him as the group leaves after Grazle informs Remnii and Tol’vas that if his people give them trouble, to please inform him, as without Velen’s guidance and the light of the naaru the emerald corruption would have swallowed their tribe.

Remnii says: It is good to see them learn.
Velen says: It was Grazle that approached me first with the interest of the young ones. I am glad to share the naaru’s light. It is the least I can do. But… you have come for a reason?

He looks at Tol’vas.

Velen says: Your name was Tol’vas.
Tol'vas Moonshadow says: Yeah, that would be me.
Velen says: It is an honor to speak with you personally.
Tol'vas Moonshadow says: I’m assuming she spoke of me?
Velen says: She has spoken of all your companions. It is good to get a face to the name. But there is a… weight on your heart. I will do what I can to alleviate it.
Remnii says: I can leave you alone if you wish.
Tol'vas Moonshadow says: No, I’m not hiding anything.

Remnii nods.

Tol'vas Moonshadow says: To put it bluntly… I was wondering if you or your people had a way to find my shan’do? I’m not sure how much you’ve learned of us, or the dream…
Velen says: I know your people, your druids, are in tune with life magic. I know many of your number travel to this realm both physically and in dreams, and these wardens that defend this realm are druids. You are one, as was the man called Thalyss. I am also led to believe another of your number in your group, and also a man named Broll that departed earlier. I know their leaders are archdruids.
Tol'vas Moonshadow says: The first druid, the one that brought it to us, is Malfurion Stormrage. He is Tyrande’s husband. He’s currently lost in the dream, and nothing we have done can find him, but maybe from a different perspective, or a different source? Something could be done?
Velen says: I do not know… if he is within the Dream, I believe it to be a different plane of existence. Though the naaru have blessed me with their gift of sight, there are limitations to it. The bond that lies between your Malfurion and your high priestess Tyrande I believe would be more powerful than anything I can bring to bear. I can try to beseech the naaru, but even the naaru’s knowledge has limits.

Tol’vas nods.

Tol'vas Moonshadow says: We know where his body is… it’s just the rest of him that’s lost.

Tol’vas considers.

Tol'vas Moonshadow says: Though his twin is here. Could that help?

Velen thinks.

Velen says: The link between brothers is a powerful one. But… I cannot make any guarantees or promises.

Tol’vas smiles.

Tol'vas Moonshadow says: Whatever could possibly work I’m willing to try. Within reason, of course. His return, especially with your help, would be a large boon… especially in trying to end this conflict.

Velen nods.

Velen says: If such a thing could be done, I would see it through.
Tol'vas Moonshadow says: Even if it could give us a first step or a direction…
Velen says: I can beseech the naaru and see if any amongst their number are aware of where he may be. But… I fear that he may be beyond their sight. If the high priestess is as strong as I believe her to be… then I am uncertain if their sight would provide anything beyond what her goddess could do.
Tol'vas Moonshadow says: I’m just worried she’s being blinded.

Vele: Remnii has shared this fear with me. If so, perhaps we can help find her beloved, by helping to bring the light to her vision, and dispel the darkness that clouds it. Of this, I can give you my word.

Tol'vas Moonshadow says: That was what I wanted to speak to you of… but Grazle mentioned… you could help with the corruption?
Velen says: Yes. The furbolg have lived in the corruption for a time. The young and the old would sometimes fall victim and prey to the madness intrinsic with such places. These satyrs use this realm as a breeding ground. I fear the corruption that has spread here in their home has made things worse. Myself and the priests and priestesses of the Aldor were able to cleanse their minds, and free their bodies of the toxins that would bring them harm. Our first meetings were less than amicable, but in time, we have found peace. I fear we will tax them overmuch… I do not wish to tarry here more than a few months, but we have ways to aid them as well.
Tol'vas Moonshadow says: We recently started to discover a different sort of corruption. Remnii, you told him about the Wailing Caverns?
Remnii says: I have spoken at length. Yes.
Velen says: You refer to it as the Nightmare, correct?
Tol'vas Moonshadow says: Yes.
Velen says: There could be a connection, but I cannot say. It could involve this… or it could simply be the corrupting essence of the fel. Or perhaps both. Until we can take a closer look, I fear little can be confirmed beyond speculation. But by purifying the waters, and inoculating them against the things that spread the corruption, we were able to aid them.
Tol'vas Moonshadow says: I’m grateful for that. They were allies to us in the past.
Velen says: I am led to believe they are your neighbors. To love and care for one’s neighbors shows your compassion, and that of your folk as well. In spite of the hardships between the kaldorei and draenei, I have hope that, in time, we can make it right, in no small part thanks to the efforts all of you have put forth. But, if you wish to persuade this Illidan to aid… I cannot say if his presence would help or not. He seems stubborn. I will wait for him, if you think it possible, or I can reach out now.
Tol'vas Moonshadow says: I’ll try to see. The worst he could say is now.
Velen says: Very well. Then I will wait until before or after you return. I will do what I can to shed light in the darkness.

Uther, meanwhile, had headed back to Daelin’s tent. Daelin nods in his direction as he notes him, thanking the draenei rangari he had been speaking to.

Daelin Proudmoore says: Uther, the draenei just informed us of what happened. If you think we can trust them, then we have your back. We’re prepared to bring the might of the Daughter to the Sea to bear before we return home.
Uther Menethil says: Do you know what you’re going back to?
Daelin Proudmoore says: Only what you or Medivh told us, and his info was a bit out of date. You said these demons returned, and they hit the elflands?
Uther Menethil says: They have. Quel’thalas has fallen.
Daelin Proudmoore says: And what of the elves?
Uther Menethil says: We managed to save as many as we could. They are now operating as the government in exile. Some contingent have traveled north… but grandfather, it’s not good. Even my own knowledge is from months ago at best--

Velameestra conveniently passes by and her ears twitch as she recognizes the top of discussion.

Velameestra Windrunner says: I... actually have updates about that. I apologize for accidentally eavesdropping.
Daelin Proudmoore says: Aye. Nothing to it. After speaking to him I may have sent a runner to talk to you personally. Seeing as you’re one of the experts of what’s going on with your people. No offense.
Velameestra Windrunner says: I’m in somewhat consistent contact with the government up north.
Daelin Proudmoore says: I thought that may be the case. You seem like a woman that likes to be connected. Judging by the magics you’ve been showing off, that has all the boys talking.
Velameestra Windrunner says: Yes. I suppose for a formal introduction my name is Velameestra Windrunner. I am Uther’s friend and former tutor.

Daelin offers a handshake and Vel takes it.

Daelin Proudmoore says: You need some mittens, lass? It’s a bit chilly up here.
Velameestra Windrunner says: The cold doesn’t bother me, it’s not a concern.
Daelin Proudmoore says: Aye.
Velameestra Windrunner says: The information I have is potentially slightly out of date given the nature of a few disturbances that make magical communication rather... frustrating. But, last they said the Eastweld up to Andorhal has fallen to the Horde. Andorhal still stands, but Stratholme has been taken. I had meant to tell you sooner, Uther, but there was not much time. I just found out the night prior to the last.
Uther Menethil says: Well, we have been busy. But that is unwelcome news to say the least. This is what I mean, grandfather.
Daelin Proudmoore says: War is always hell, lad. That much as never changed for as much as I have been breathing. But it’s a damn shame to hear. I hope we can do something once we get back.
Uther Menethil says: This isn’t a war, this is an extermination. Our enemy is not motivated by borders nor politics or personal gain, they seek only the destruction of every living thing on our world. I’ve seen them. I’ve fought them. To triumph over this enemy will take nothing but our entire combined might.

Daelin nods.

Daelin Proudmoore says: From what Master Velen says, I believe it will take more than that. But I hear ya. On that note, I suppose it’s good it has not spread further. Let’s hope the soldiers of the Alliance can stand strong.
Uther Menethil says: Can I ask a personal question, grandfather. Would you fight alongside trolls if the alternative is letting your people die? It’s okay if you can’t answer now, but it’s a choice you may need to make.
Daelin Proudmoore says: That’s a complicated question, lad, but it’s one I’m glad you can ask. Your generation will be seeing a lot of different things than mine have seen. I’m glad you got Jaina’s kindness. And her heart. I think Lordaeron could use that. And I don’t know how they would handle losing it once they got it. And for what it’s worth, miss…

He looks at Vel.

Daelin Proudmoore says: You got my apologies as well. If there’s anything I can do for your people, I would try it. I may not be the Lord Admiral, but provided my better half doesn’t decide to execute me when I come back, then I’ll do it. That of course, depends on what strength I can muster when I can come back. It sounds like you don’t know much of what’s been going on with Kul Tiras.
Velameestra Windrunner says: Our contacts are unfortunately limited and not as far a Kul Tiras. As it stands it’s one of the kingdoms we mean to reach out when we return.
Daelin Proudmoore says: Aye. I suppose once we wrap up business here, and we head back for home, that will be one of the first things I’ll be doing.
Velameestra Windrunner says: Condolences are appreciated Admiral. If you wish I can relay those up north. I was planning on reaching out tonight if I was able to.
Daelin Proudmoore says: You can if you wish. I don’t know how much condolences of an old man will do. But I suppose you’re welcome to.

Uther knows Vel well enough that he notices there are things Vel has not said about the news.

Uther Menethil says: Something else on your mind, Vel?
Velameestra Windrunner says: There was further news I was going to inform you of concerning the church specifically.
Uther Menethil says: The tone worries me.
Velameestra Windrunner says: They may have found out about certain conditions.

Vel’s eyes flicker to Daelin.

Uther Menethil says: May I safely assume that these are conditions that we assumed they would have a problem with?
Velameestra Windrunner says: Yes.
Daelin Proudmoore says: If you need me to give the two of you some privacy, I’ve got some things to see to. Can’t say I’m a religious man, but I hope that whatever issues your people are having are worked out.

Daelin gives the two some space.

Uther Menethil says: How bad?
Velameestra Windrunner says: The fall of Strathhome is believed to be partially due to violence in the streets. Nothing is confirmed. But a contingent of Sindorei did not make it out. And rumors have started to spread in the church.
Uther Menethil says: That the elves have turned to black magic to save themselves?
Velameestra Windrunner says: Or what some of us are specifically.
Uther Menethil says: Which is of course the only way they’ll see it. Is this what it’s like to have children?
Velameestra Windrunner says: I can’t say.
Uther Menethil says: Perhaps what it’s like having me as a friend?
Velameestra Windrunner says: There tends to be a lot less murder involved with you Uther.
Uther Menethil says: I’m speaking to the problem of doing everything you can to ensure these people survive and they seem determined to destroy themselves.
Velameestra Windrunner says: Yes, I suppose you could say that.
Uther Menethil says: Well. One problem at a time. There’s nothing we can do here. We should focus on concluding this business as quickly as possible and returning home. Light willing, we’ll make it before there’s too much damage to undo.
Velameestra Windrunner says: I’m sure we’ll be able to get a read on the situation once we do return. While your grandfather’s assistance is appreciated I will leave that to your jurisdiction. About whether or not he should know about what he’s promising to aid.
Uther Menethil says: Well. We’ll have a discussion. Doesn’t make any sense to hide it if he’ll find out eventually.
Velameestra Windrunner says: I suppose everyone will on that front. But I need to take care of a few things, I apologize for dropping in jsut for bad news.
Uther Menethil says: It’s quite alright Vel. Oh. How are your stores?
Velameestra Windrunner says: Recovering. Elissa and Remnii, as well as Tol’vas, were kind enough.
Uther Menethil says: Take some from me before we leave. I’d rather you have too much then not enough.
Velameestra Windrunner says: Appreciated, Uther.

She gives him a half-smile and heads off on her way.

A bit later, Uther remet with Daelin.

Daelin Proudmoore says: Everything alright, lad?

Uther sighs heavily.

Uther Menethil says: Well. I suppose the most accurate answer is no. But we’re going to keep fighting to change that.

Daelin sets a flask down in front of Uther.

Daelin Proudmoore says: This might come in handy after all that bad news.

Uther takes a swig from the flask.

Uther Menethil says: You said you weren’t much of a religious man?
Daelin Proudmoore says: Not much, no. Out in Kul Tiras, the Light has some reach, but it’s not as prolific as the Tidemother’s faith.
Uther Menethil says: The Light grows dim that far.
Daelin Proudmoore says: The faith of the tide is older. Kul Tirans… ain’t the best with change. So you can find your chapels and your priests, but they share the light with the old ways. Even so, I’m far from one of the brothers. I say me prayers and beg the Tidemother for safe passage, but I’m hardly a saint. Nor am I descended from one, unlike yourself.
Uther Menethil says: Hopefully then, that lends weight to these words. What does the Tidemother think of necromancy?
Daelin Proudmoore says: Necromancy? Death magics?
Uther Menethil says: Indeed.

Dae: Can’t say I know too much. That’s more your mother’s expertise. There’s all sorts of tales out there of ghost ships and pirate crews returned from the bottom of the sea to get revenge on those that sunk them. Tales of drowned women stood up on their wedding days and murdered for it… all sorts of tales. Can’t say it would be favorable, but I am wondering why you be asking?

Uther Menethil says: The Light abhors it. This is due largely to the history of those that dabble in such things in unsafe conditions. But whenever someone wanders alone in territory they are unfamiliar with, it will be fought with danger, and by and large these individuals succumb and become a menace to the people around them. But… not unlike a sword, at its core, necromancy is just a tool. Used to protect life or take it.
Daelin Proudmoore says: Did… did that Velameestra tell you this? Or is this from your studies?
Uther Menethil says: I’m hardly a scholar.
Daelin Proudmoore says: I got worried about what my little girl be teachin’ ya.
Uther Menethil says: Nothing like that. Velameestra, however, has studied it. At great risk to herself. But… this could be said of all my companions, but I would not be here without you.
Daelin Proudmoore says: Aye, I believe ya. The elves are… elves are a folk that I’ve always respected. I’m not surprised someone as keen as she seems knows a thing or two about things taught behind closed doors.
Uther Menethil says: In the face of their own extinction, a sizable portion of the remaining elves… have also turned to such methods. Vel is working closely with them. I trust her judgement.
Daelin Proudmoore says: I guess that explains why her hand felt like that of a drowned man.
Uther Menethil says: Indeed. Unfortunately… there are going to be those in the church who look at this and do not see a people trying to protect themselves. They will only see the monsters that have come before.
Daelin Proudmoore says: It be easy to see monsters in shadows, lad. But I won’t say that she and ya don’t have quite the path in front of ya. This makes things more difficult, but every path has its puddles.
Uther Menethil says: I just… wanted you to know. Exactly what you’d be getting yourself into by declaring your support.
Daelin Proudmoore says: I reckon I have to learn a thing or two. That Velameestra has a good head on her shoulders, and she don’t seem like much of a monster to me. Monsters don’t use their magics to delight and give a bunch of old washed up sailors an opportunity to drink and let loose. You have one hell of a woman, there.
Uther Menethil says: I have one hell of a friend.
Daelin Proudmoore says: You don’t need to be so coy. You and her are… you’re an item, right?
Uther Menethil says: Not so.
Daelin Proudmoore says: Oh. OH. See, this is why captains have a navigator.

Daelin takes a sip of his ale.

Daelin Proudmoore says: I uh, just misread the room a bit there, I guess.
Uther Menethil says: You’re not entirely off-base, grandfather. After all, she’s the one that taught me magic growing up. There are a lot of reasons that would happen. But… I’m betrothed to Vittoria Trollbane.
Daelin Proudmoore says: Ah! A good family! I never had the opportunity to meet the princess, but I’m glad to hear it.
Uther Menethil says: She’s a remarkable woman.
Daelin Proudmoore says: You must be worried about her too.
Uther Menethil says: I’m more worried about the people on the other end of the battlefield, but yes.
Daelin Proudmoore says: Well don’t worry too much! A woman like that, if she lives up to even a quarter of her name, is not one to be worried about. Once the skies clear up, and sailing back home, we’ll have you reunited with her.
Uther Menethil says: The sooner we return home, the better.
Daelin Proudmoore says: Why don’t you tell me more about it? Ya got my undivided attention. Lets catch up, aye?
Uther Menethil says: I’d like that.

Daelin fills Uther in on everything that happened after his arrival on Kalimdor. However, he does not, at any point, bring up Seria, and he seemed inclined to steer the conversation elsewhere.

Tol’vas had headed off to speak with Illidan after Remnii gave him well wishes as she had a lot of other things to attend to. He finds Illidan and Kor’vas in the magnificent mansion snacking on some food and looking around.

Illidan Stormrage says: Well, if I weren’t mistaken, I would almost think you’re looking for me. What did I do this time?
Tol'vas Moonshadow says: Did you do something? Wait, no, I’m not here because you did anything. Actually… I might need a favor from you.

He mumbles a bit, and Illidan chuffs.

Illidan Stormrage says: Can I get that in writing? What do you need?
Tol'vas Moonshadow says: Well, I would like your assistance with the prophet Velen to try and locate your brother.
Illidan Stormrage says: I see… as I understand it, my brother has been missing for some time.
Tol'vas Moonshadow says: But you are still twins and still connected.
Illidan Stormrage says: Yes, and he still imprisoned me. While time becomes difficult to count, it’s been at least a few hundred years since he visited me. What makes you think he wants me to aid in any way?
Tol'vas Moonshadow says: What about the satisfaction you helped to find him when even Cenarius couldn’t?

Illidan considers, and he smirks.

Illidan Stormrage says: You know… that’s not half bad an idea. After all, Cenarius hasn’t been my biggest fan. All of that being said… do you really think the draenei leader can succeed where Tyrande failed?
Tol'vas Moonshadow says: I think approaching this from an angle other people may not expect is key. They know what Tyrande is capable of, so they’re going to prepare for that. Especially if they’re trying to deceive her.

Illidan leans forward.

Illidan Stormrage says: I’m not doing anything right now, so I suppose it can’t hurt to come along and see what this Velen has in store. I’ll play along, for now.

Tol’vas looks relieved and grateful.

Tol'vas Moonshadow says: Thank you.
Illidan Stormrage says: He may be a fool and a coward at times, but he is still my brother, and clearly he’s gotten himself into trouble. The least I can do is pull him out of it so I can laugh at him. If no other reason than to see his face when he sees I’m freed.

He starts to leave, and Kor’vas hurries after him with a handful of food. Tol’vas also grabs some, and they exit the mansion. All the food disappears, and Tol’vas and Kor’vas exchange a sad look as Illidan chuffs.

They return to Velen, Illidan and Kor’vas in tow. Remnii has a small smile, clearly proud.

Illidan Stormrage says: Why does everyone seem so surprised? I know how to play nice.
Tol'vas Moonshadow says: You have a reputation you can’t help have?
Velen says: It is good you have come. I do not know if this will work, but with your presence, it is perhaps more likely.
Illidan Stormrage says: You and I are of a similar mind, Velen. Go on, whatever you’re trying to attempt, I’m here for the time being.
Velen says: Your presence is much appreciated.

Velen turns to O’ros and holds his hands out and closes his eyes. Remnii closes her eyes and starts to commune as well. It feels as if Velen is beseeching the pure essence of the Light itself, and a soft violet light radiates around Illidan--who looks at it warily.

They see depictions of light, and feel emotions--fear, pain, righteous indignation, confusion, strength, certainty and uncertainty, loneliness, stoicism, vigilance, and resilience. Velen opens his eyes.

Velen says: It seems his location is beyond the Light of the naaru, as I feared, but I can tell you--through your bond, the bond of blood you share with your brother--that Malfurion does yet live. But he is… not well. I sensed fear and loneliness. Pain and suffering. But also strength and resilience. He is fighting a fight that is beyond our reach. And he will fight it alone. But alone, I fear he may not be able to win.

The glowing glyphs disappear from Velen and Remnii’s foreheads.

Velen says: That is all I see.

Illidan nods.

Illidan Stormrage says: Cryptic… but at least confirms that my brother isn’t in as grave straits as I imagined. I suppose it now falls beyond your naaru to find him, then. If he is beyond the reach of the Light, perhaps we need to delve into the shadows.
Tol'vas Moonshadow says: Can you do that?
Illidan Stormrage says: There are ways, yes. None within my capabilities now. But if Cenarius could not find him, a bit of friendly competition never hurt anyone.
Tol'vas Moonshadow says: Cenarius’s daughter was able to to tell me that he is searching for Malfurion now.
Illidan Stormrage says: Well. Something to look into. I’m sure that the Lord of the Forests would be thrilled to see me again.
Tol'vas Moonshadow says: If the arcane, Elune, and the light can’t find him… then there are only certain other options.

Illidan looks at Kor’vas, who had accompanied them to meet with Velen.

Illidan Stormrage says: You, girl.
Kor'vas Bloodthorn says: I have a name. I told you.
Illidan Stormrage says: Kor’vas.
Kor'vas Bloodthorn says: See, that’s better.
Illidan Stormrage says: The Illidari. This Slayer has resources, yes? Perhaps they could be put to the search for the archdruid.
Kor'vas Bloodthorn says: I’m sure you could ask her. There are all sorts of tricks. But you’ll have to ask the Slayer what they think.
Illidan Stormrage says: Very well. But it seems like seeking him out at present would be difficult. If I discover anything in the Felwood, I’ll bring it back.

Vele: I too can make no promises. Our people will be spread thin even after the resolution of the conflict with the kaldorei. But if helping to bring back the archdruid would bring peace to your people, and aid you, I will see what our people can spare. If the Light is favorable, we can aid you as well.

Tol'vas Moonshadow says: We’re very grateful. I understand your resources are spread thin and this is one man.
Velen says: It could be one person who could ignite a spark to change everything we know about the world. But I am sorry we could not get a more definitive answer.

Tol’vas smiles.

Tol'vas Moonshadow says: It a long shot.
Illidan Stormrage says: I expected nothing. So this was a pleasant surprise.
Tol'vas Moonshadow says: I suppose that’s the joy of pessimism.
Illidan Stormrage says: It is. You should try it sometime.

Illidan turns and leaves. Tol’vas thanks Velen again, and Velen bows.

Vel had made her way over to the draenic mages, and she sees a hollowed out ironwood tree. There is the hustle and bustle of magic and artifice that is actively happening. There are a small number of draenei present. Some are krokul, though the majority are not. Some of them are actively copying a scroll, another is fumbling with a crystal, and doing other similar things. There are a few furbolgs looking around, and Romuul is also present--speaking with two other mages.

Another tall draenei, who is missing an arm and has cut horns is speaking with another furbolg. They have two buns, and they are working on a prosthesis with one hand, and they clip a tool to one of their horns. A furbolg reaches to prod at the pieces of metal.

Draenic Artificer says: Do not touch that. I told you! You. Can. Watch.

They swat them away.

Romuul says: Luma, please do not strike the natives.
Liiraluma says: Perhaps the natives should not touch my things. What little things we have!

Romuul then notes Vel.

Romuul says: Velameestra?
Velameestra Windrunner says: Correct.
Romuul says: Ah. This is Edirah. The woman I spoke of previously.

Edirah is a pretty draenei woman that is clearly a mage. She appears to have a spellbook of some sort.

Edirah says: You must be Velameestra? I have heard of your prowess. You are the one responsible for creating the magnificent mansion in the square, yes?
Velameestra Windrunner says: Correct.
Edirah says: That is powerful magic. Stronger than any of us here can conjure. You have my respect, if not my admiration.
Velameestra Windrunner says: It is appreciated, as I understand I’m going to be working with you. We are looking to cross the straight to Azuremyst.
Edirah says: That is correct. A number of my colleagues have gone ahead to Azure Watch. With their assistance we should be able to communicate and to scry on the location. And from there, if you have the magics to transport over a large distance you should be able to do so. If not, one of the others you’re traveling with can.
Velameestra Windrunner says: We have a couple of options depending on the circumstances.
Edirah says: With some of the things we’ve been able to scrounge up, we should be able to do so without a chance for error. As long as we work together. Valaatu and Semid will be able to help us complete the transference without any error.
Velameestra Windrunner says: Wonderful. I’m glad to hear it.

Edirah holds two fingers up to her forehead, and speaks in draenic the words Valaatu, Vel's name, and something concerning the location.

Edirah says: And I just informed her we’ll need the transference up for tomorrow morning. If I’m not mistaken?
Velameestra Windrunner says: That’s correct.
Edirah says: Very well! Once your party is ready, simply come here and we’ll be sure it is done.
Velameestra Windrunner says: It’s appreciated.
Edirah says:In the meantime, if there’s anything you require. Though your skills vastly outweigh any of what we are able to conjure we may have some things that may be useful for you. If you have need of any materials and the like we could assist you. Our resources our meager but if there’s anything we could do to aid, we’d be glad to do so.
Velameestra Windrunner says: Perhaps in better circumstances. I would love to coordinate notes in the future.
Edirah says: Of course, there is much that we could learn from one that excels at the true magics here native to Azeroth. It is difficult to study it immensely, much of our knowledge was lost over the years, so we have needed to make do with what we could fine. I’m a bit starstruck to be in the presence of someone capable of such power.
Velameestra Windrunner says: Your own magics are impressive from what I have seen- I spoke to one of your people back in the Eastern Kindgoms. Raluhi?
Edirah says: Raluhi? He’s alive?!
Velameestra Windrunner says: Ah, you know him?
Edirah says: I do, yes. He was one the tutors at one of the schools of the true magics in Shattrath before the fall. I was on the board of directors.
Velameestra Windrunner says: Yes, well last I heard he was in the process of being formally accepted to the Kirin Tor, which is our institution.
Edirah says: That is wonderful news! If you see him before I do please tell him that I said hello.
Velameestra Windrunner says: I’ll be sure to do so.
Edirah says: I would love to see what he’s learned in this time. We have lost so much since the sacking of Shattrath.
Velameestra Windrunner says: And I don’t doubt that he’s been making waves in Dalaran. Your crystalline spellbooks are quite a marvel.
Edirah says: We have not been able to replicate them perfectly, but we’ve been able to make due with what we’ve found. This is mostly thanks to the artificers. All the technological marvels we’ve been able to salvage from the wreckage, it would not have been possible without their expertise.

She gestures over to the artificers, who are now bickering.

Velameestra Windrunner says: Yes, well. In the matter of mages the impossible is only the improbable in that regard.

Vel notices something familiar about the schematics that one of the draenei is writing. They are very similar to the ones Vel had copied from her cell. Though not able to read draenic, she is able to tell they are the same handwriting.

Velameestra Windrunner says: It was mentioned their name was Luma, yes?
Edirah says: That is correct, they are one of the more gifted artificers. They are a bit… rough around the edges. But they have been invaluable. They were wounded in the battle that brought us here. But I am thankful for the knowledge they have brought to us from the Mechanar, one of the other vessels that was lost. They are also the Grand Artificer’s sibling. Which is why they bicker so much.
Velameestra Windrunner says: I can relate. Excuse me for a moment.

Vel goes over to Luma.

Velameestra Windrunner says: I apologize for the interruption. Luma?
Liiraluma says: That’s me.

Luma doesn’t look up from, their work.

Velameestra Windrunner says: I think this might have been yours.

Vel pulls out the etching from under the desk.

Velameestra Windrunner says: You likely already have a copy of it, but if this was yours.

Adjusting a pair of gold framed glasses, Luma goes cross-eyed for a second.

Liiraluma says: Where????

They hold up a piece of paper with a more detailed version, before slamming it down on the table. They rise up to well over seven feet tall.

Liiraluma says: You. Thank you. We have been looking for this for ages. Turns out when you spend so much time in jail. Not the first time… don’t get me wrong… Thank you! This!!!

They point to one joint on the pinky.

Velameestra Windrunner says: It would appear we were in the same cell.
Liiraluma says: Ah. Good. It was terrible.
Velameestra Windrunner says: Agreed.
Liiraluma says: It was terrible. Understimulating, nothing to do. FUCK.
Velameestra Windrunner says: That offered me a great deal of mental stimulation. So thanks for that.
Liiraluma says: At least we could help someone. What is your name?

Luma smiles.

Velameestra Windrunner says: Velameestra.
Liiraluma says: Also. You are so small.
Velameestra Windrunner says: Yes, that has been the consensus since we arrived here.
Liiraluma says: Huh. Is there common ancestry…?

The conversation devolves into small talk. Luma has to stop the furbolgs twice from touching their stuff before they finally go away, Luma having threatened them with a torch.

Liiraluma says: By the Light, get out of here!

Luma redirects them to Romuul. And he starts teaching them. He shows them tools that they can use to fidget.

Liiraluma says: Ugh. That is why he is the Grand Artificer. But. My arm is not a fidget spinner…

Remnii had gone to see Jarod, and she approaches, she sees Jarod trying to pull armor onto himself with two female draenei priestesses trying to urge him down. One of them Remnii recognizes--a woman named Xyrella.

Xyrella says: Master Jarod, I’m sure Remnii will not hold it against you-- oh, Remnii! It’s so good to see you!
Remnii says: I don’t know what I would mind, but you…

She points at Jarod.

Xyrella says: Perhaps he will listen to you instead of me. He’s stubborn.
Jarod Shadowsong says: I’m fine! I need to help.
Xyrella says: You are not fine.

The acolyte is continuing to lightly wrestle with Jarod to keep his weapons and armor away from him. Remnii puts a hand on Jarod’s shoulder.

Remnii says: Jarod. You’re helping me by being alive.
Jarod Shadowsong says: I promised I would help more. What if they come back and hurt you?

Jarod seems out of it. Remnii looks at Xyrella.

Remnii says: Whatever you have him on is mighty.
Xyrella says: You can thank Nus for that.

The acolyte waves.

Rem: Jarod, we are all resting today. Relax. We made it safely here.

Remnii takes his hand and sits down on the bedroll next to him. Jarod resigns and sits back down.

Jarod Shadowsong says: But… are you sure you’ll be alright?
Remnii says: I’ll be better knowing you are safe.
Jarod Shadowsong says: I just don’t want to… I just don’t want to let you down.
Remnii says: There is no possibility in this world for you to do that. You have heard me before, and you will hear me again.

Remnii stands and tries to ease Jarod down, and Xyrella casts sleep to help. Jarod’s eyes start to dim.

Jarod Shadowsong says: Are you sure... you’ll be alright?

Remnii squeezes his hand and pats his hair.

Remnii says: I will be.
Jarod Shadowsong says: ...okay.

Jarod reaches out and runs a hand through Remnii’s hair.

Jarod Shadowsong says: I… I love you Shalasyr…

He passes out on the bed. Remnii laughs bittersweetly and folds Jarod’s hand over his other one.

Xyrella says: We should be able to wean him off the pain killers before too long. The reattachment was not comfortable. Hopefully by the time you see him again, he’ll be more lucid. He seems to care a great deal about you.
Remnii says: He’s a good man.

Xyrella smiles.

Xyrella says: He is. There are many good people amongst their kind. I hope we can bring peace before too long. Lets leave him to rest.

Xyrella guides Remnii out of the recovery area.

Xyrella says: He said a name. Shalasyr. He said that a few times.
Remnii says: That was his partner. She passed on.
Xyrella says: I see…

Remnii thinks.

Remnii says: What of you and yours? It’s been some time since I have seen you or your family.
Xyrella says: Yes, it’s hard to keep track of the time of this world. It’s so different. It’s been closer to… fifteen years now? My husband did not survive the crash. He… he was never found when the Exodar fell apart. So he’s missing in action. Many were never recovered. It’s possible he’s out there… but I have come to terms with his loss for as much as I can. Thank you for asking.

Xyrella squeezes Remnii’s shoulder.

Xyrella says: As for Runi…

She pulls a curtain aside, and reveals a young draenei about the age of Dornaa. She is sleeping soundly.

Xyrella says: We were able to recover from the crash, but she has been in a coma ever since. She and I were lucky enough to avoid capture… only later did we reunite with the rest. I was able to protect her. Nothing we have tried so far has reached her. No healing magics or remedies…
Remnii says: I’m sorry… these last years have not been kind.

Remnii puts a hand on Xyrella’s shoulder.

Remnii says: We learned the same magics at the same time… but can I look her over?
Xyrella says: She would love to see you again. She was much smaller when you held her. And you helped bring her into this world. Perhaps you’ll have a magic touch?
Remnii says: One could hope.

Remnii approaches and examines the young draenei. The source of the coma is unclear, but it seems to have a supernatural element to it. It seems she had been growing while sleeping.

Remnii says: Well… let me think on this… I believe there are a number of mysteries. This stays between you and I for now, but depending… the night elves are gifted with a kind of immortality. Shalaysr and many others are dying of natural causes, which is new. I do not believe this to be related, but hte crash of the Exodar had greater ripple effects than we understand. So… I know you will, but keep taking care of her.
Xyrella says: I will.
Remnii says: I will see if we can find anything. I have not been in the Exodar, but is there anything you may need if we are able to reach it?
Xyrella says: I don’t know. Our time spent aboard was so short. But I’m certain we could find something… perhaps more medical supplies.
Remnii says: Perhaps, in time, we can take a better look, but that is ambition for later. But for now, if it’s the last time I do, we will be able to see the sky again together.
Xyrella says: Thank you, Remnii. You always know how to light up a room. I’m happy to see that light has not dimmed. You’re as beautiful as ever.
Remnii says: You’re one to talk. But I will leave you for now. If Jarod is lucid… let me know. If not, let him rest.
Xyrella says: I know you and your companions are leaving soon. By the time you return, he will hopefully be able to speak with you.
Remnii says: I can dream him, if the shove comes to push, as the humans say.
Xyrella says: Given these circumstances… I don’t want to… ah… gossip… but…

He looks back at Jarod’s tent.

Xyrella says: Are you and he…?
Remnii says: Oh, no no. No, I am grateful mostly. There are a number of people in this world that I come to love in different ways.
Xyrella says: I was simply curious. He spoke of you more than once. I’m certain that Maraad was happy to see you. Speaking of things…
Remnii says: It was good to see him again. It was almost funny without Phaedra or Yrel…
Xyrella says: I heard of what happened to them through Ishanah. I’m sorry.
Remnii says: Thank you. We have all lost much in this time. I am grateful that familiar faces were here to welcome me home.
Xyrella says: I’m glad my familiar face was here to greet yours, as I’m sure many were. We will build a new home. Even if it’s in hidden places like this. Someday, we’ll have a place to call home. And Runi will be there with us.
Remnii says: She will. Hopefully in time, Yrel and Phaedra too. But in the meantime, I am going to not suspiciously show up at the Vindicator drills.

Remnii winks and chuckles.

Remnii says: Thank you for looking after Jarod.
Xyrella says: Of course.
Remnii says: Tell him I say hi if he comes to.
Xyrella says: I will.
Remnii says: Also, I need whatever medicine Nus was using.
Xyrella says: Are you sure? That might knock you out…
Remnii says: Not for me. But in the company of heroes, sometimes a knockout is useful.

Xyrella chuckles.

Elissa goes and finds Uther in the evening.

Elissa Cross says: Hey Uther!
Uther Menethil says: Ah, Elissa. Good to see you.

Elissa smiles.

Elissa Cross says: Always good to see you. How is everything?
Uther Menethil says: Everything has happened so fast, I’m not really certain.
Elissa Cross says: Vel told me about… the news.
Uther Menethil says: I’m going to make this right.
Elissa Cross says: We will. And it sounds bad, but once we get there, I’m sure we’ll be able to fix everything. Especially once we have everyone’s help. Um… I did want to thank you, by the way, for sticking up for Seria. I know she’s really bad at saying she’s thankful, but I know she is.
Uther Menethil says: I didn’t do it for thanks. I did it because it was the right thing to do.
Elissa Cross says: Well I’m thanking you anyways!

She smiles.

Uther Menethil says: I appreciate that.
Elissa Cross says: And, um… have you talked to Vel again? Since the fight a few days ago?
Uther Menethil says: Not… as much as I would have liked. Why, is everything alright?
Elissa Cross says: Everything is fine. I’m just… well the two of you are my best friends, and… you’re also, well, pretty important to the group and to me, so… I was hoping maybe you guys could… she’s really worried about you, Uther.
Uther Menethil says: I’m not certain what to say.

El: I don’t know either. But you know Vel. Probably, in some ways, better than any of us do. Better than she does in some ways. And I know that it might seem like she’s getting on your case, but she doesn’t want to lose you. I mean, she’s… she’s lost so much. And I know she doesn’t want to sound like she’s nagging you, or telling you you can’t be brave and strong…

Uther Menethil says: I appreciate you telling me this, but I know. I know at times it seems like I’m reckless bordering on self-destructive. And I won’t say my plans are always fool proof, but I do have them.

Elissa considers.

Elissa Cross says: I know… but I think it might help to tell that to Vel. Everybody knows that you’d do anything to help protect the people you love. And that’s why I respect you so much. I wish I could be half as brave as you are. But I think what Vel wants to hear… I think she wants to hear you say that about yourself too. I think she’s comforted to hear you’ll protect people, but she cares about you too. So maybe it’s that simple?
Uther Menethil says: I will be certain to tell her that.

Elissa beams.

Elissa Cross says: I’m glad. And if she needs more convincing, I’ll always help protect you too. And not just because I’m a royal guard, but because you’re something special. I don’t… um… really know what it’s like to have siblings or anything like that. But… if I ever had a big brother, I would probably have wanted him to be like you. I’m sorry if that’s overstepping boundaries or anything!

Uther chuckles and ruffles Elissa’s hair.

Uther Menethil says: I’m almost hurt you don’t think of me as a real brother.

Elissa blushes.

Elissa Cross says: Um, I kind of do, but I didn’t want you to think that was weird…
Uther Menethil says: I’m teasing you, Elissa, it’s not weird.
Elissa Cross says: Sorry. You’d think I’d be over getting like this when I’m talking to you, but…

Elissa hugs Uther, and Uther hugs her back and lifts her off the ground.

Uther Menethil says: It’s been a strange experience on this side of the world. It doesn’t matter that I’m a prince here. But back here, the majority of the people I meet… I am my title before I am myself. Part of the reason you’re all so important to me.
Elissa Cross says: Maybe that can be something you bring back with you. I think we’re all bringing something back with us.
Uther Menethil says: Wouldn’t be a journey worth having if we came back empty handed.
Elissa Cross says: Yeah. I’m coming back with a mom. Never thought that would happen! But thanks, Uther. For everything, and for agreeing to talk to Vel. I think she needs help too. She’s strong, but even the strongest people need someone watching their back.
Uther Menethil says: Very true. Thank you, Elissa.
Elissa Cross says: Anytime, Uther!
Uther Menethil says: Alright, I should go find Vel.

He finds Vel, still with the artificers, as they are trying to wind down for the evening. Vel notices Uther, and is confused he’s heading over to the nerd corner.

Velameestra Windrunner says: Uther? Can I help you with something?
Uther Menethil says: I don’t suppose to have a moment to talk.
Velameestra Windrunner says: We were just finishing up. It was good to talk to you, Luma.
Liiraluma says: Good to talk sense with someone.

Vel goes to walk with Uther.

Velameestra Windrunner says: So what is it? Nothing else has happened?
Uther Menethil says: No. But I know I don’t have a stellar track record when it comes to plans. But, I promise I am not as reckless with my life as I probably suggest.
Velameestra Windrunner says: Oh, Elissa spoke to you?
Uther Menethil says: She did.
Velameestra Windrunner says: Ah. We’re having this conversation. Noted. What do you mean, exactly?
Uther Menethil says: I don’t do any of these things expecting to die. I have backups. I have a proverbial Plan B.
Velameestra Windrunner says: Yes, as you’ve said on multiple occasions. I am Plan B.
Uther Menethil says: Oh… Oh. No. No! Not you! I’m not expecting… Not that I have a problem when you do…
Velameestra Windrunner says: Uther, you have always advertised that you always go into things without a plan because I’m the one that always has a plan. And every single time these things happen it’s because… We’ve had these conversations before, and every time it’s ended with you saying you don’t have to worry about dying because I’m there to get you back. There’s been other plan Bs?
Uther Menethil says: I never meant that to mean I would rely on you to make sure I wouldn’t die. I only meant that I trusted you.
Velameestra Windrunner says: Alright. There has been something that’s been lost in communication then. Since this entire thing started I was under the impression I was responsible for your life. So when you go and run into things and I somehow fail... that’s on me.
Uther Menethil says: That was. A very unfair burden for me to put on you. Even if I didn’t do it intentionally.
Velameestra Windrunner says: Um. So. There were plan Bs, the entire time?
Uther Menethil says: Likely not to your specifications.
Velameestra Windrunner says: The oracula situation? There was a Plan B?
Uther Menethil says: After talking to Seria the plan was ill-advised and short sighted. But it wasn’t my intention to make a deal with the creature. But if I pulled it to our side of the mirror and hit it with my hammer it could go away.
Velameestra Windrunner says: Only for it to likely come back down the road.
Uther Menethil says: So Seria told me.
Velameestra Windrunner says: Then when you gave your blood to the witch in Hakkar’s realm, there was a plan B for that?
Uther Menethil says: No. That one I just knew it would turn out the way it did.

He looks down at the mark.

Velameestra Windrunner says: I had a talk with my uncle a while back. You recall the Durnholde situation? He went with me when I went to talk to Victor. He was on the other side of the door when he told Victor what I did. And he would have been right there if Victor had decided to kill me on the spot. Following that we talked about a couple of things. Namely he reminded me that sometimes it’s not about protecting someone. It’s about surviving so they don’t have to go through the pain of losing that person. Which he inspired a tattoo, on that regard. I’m happy to hear that you have Plan Bs. Perhaps going forward we can work on refining them. But Uther, if we go back to the Eastern Kingdoms and you are not with us, and I need to tell your mother that you survived only to die here.
Uther Menethil says: I’m not going to die here.
Velameestra Windrunner says: Can we… I don’t want to control what you do. But can we maybe not go from zero to life threatening plan A on most situations? I’ve calculated the average scenario and it’s typically an 85% that it goes that way. Maybe a number grade? If it’s a 9 or higher go all in. But if it’s below a 9, maybe we can reassess before making rash decisions? Maybe?
Uther Menethil says: I can agree to that.
Velameestra Windrunner says: And also if you have a plan B, please tell me.
Uther Menethil says: Well, if you haven’t noticed, I can teleport now! With lightning.
Velameestra Windrunner says: Which I have been most appreciative of you being able to do that. How do you deal with it if someone counters it?
Uther Menethil says: Well, if someone’s countering it. I crack that person’s skull and then teleport with lighting.
Velameestra Windrunner says: Uther, we’re going to take a few steps back. And perhaps, subtly casting it in a dire situation may be worth the added stress in that particular regard so it can’t be countered?
Uther Menethil says: Subtly casted? What do you mean?
Velameestra Windrunner says: Sometimes you can twist the weave so that you can do things without the motions or verbal components when you make the magic in fruition. When you cast it that way, it cannot be counter. Subtly, secretly, they don’t know you’re casting it until it happens.
Uther Menethil says: There’s a room for training in the mansion, yes. Do you think you could teach me?
Velameestra Windrunner says: I likely could, yes. I was planning on going to Northrend to check in tonight. But we may do a couple test runs.
Uther Menethil says: Just a couple runs, I can practice until you get back.
Velameestra Windrunner says: Sleep. Don’t practice all night. I realize I’m hypocritical in saying that but don’t do that. After not sleeping for 20 days in a row I have come to appreciate that I can sleep where I can.
Uther Menethil says: That I can understand.
Velameestra Windrunner says: You didn’t know about subtly casting spells?
Uther Menethil says: Well, we’ve been rather busy. Can’t exactly bother you for tutoring. And we left off with my lessons I could barely fling a ball of fire at somebody.
Velameestra Windrunner says: This is a grievous mistake on my part that we are going to rectify as soon as possible.
Uther Menethil says: I am very happy to hear that.
Velameestra Windrunner says: Yes. Good. I am going to show you the basics then, and then I will be off. I also need to show Medivh and them to their rooms because they have rooms for the night. I got sidetracked with the artificers. But, thank you for not expecting me to get you out of every single situation. That is a bit of a load off.
Uther Menethil says: So. You thought that’s what I meant, and you still considered me your friend?
Velameestra Windrunner says: Yes, that’s why I was largely beating myself up about the fact you died in Silvermoon. That was… yes…
Uther Menethil says: You must like me very much.
Velameestra Windrunner says: I do, yes. I do. But. Subtle spell. Subtle spell… and then I do not need to look at the fact that your somatic components are different every single time you do them.
Uther Menethil says: Isn’t that usually how that works?
Velameestra Windrunner says: No! It is never how that usually works! You do not normally go from a finger gun to wiggly fingers for a fireball. That’s not… No.

Vel sighs in exasperation as they walk back towards the manor.
