Timeline

Mirtul, 1489 | Start of Lost Mines of Phandelver

  • Jarkul entrusts stewardship of the criminal wizard Astredax to Nayiss in the hopes that his connections could provide avenues to get more information on the Cult of the Dragon. He also gifts Nayiss an amulet of proof against detection and location, understanding that the more active role she was about to take was likely to draw attention to her that she had managed to keep staved off.
  • Leosin Erlanthar assigns Odd and Koh Koro to also go to Phandalin in order to investigate potential Cult activity due to the rumored presence of dragons (though, on paper, it is to help Gundren Rockseeker), and it's suggested that they accompany Nayiss. Lucas Colt, a mercenary and loose acquaintance of Nayiss, opted to join them as he was a Phandalin native and was heading home for his brother's birthday, and it wouldn't hurt to get paid for the trip.

Ches, 1490

  • The third meeting of the Queen's Rout Council takes place on 1 Ches. Hostu returns, along with the witch queen, Tasha, and they offer to aid in the continued development in the weapon used against Tiamat. There is a great deal of tension, but the offer is ultimately accepted. However, it is decided that Hostu will not return to the Spellforged.
  • The Spellforged ascend to Skyreach Tower to speak with Blagothkus and Harshnag. The Ordning that governed all giant kind had been shattered, and the hierarchy of the giants was in chaos. Harshnag wished to go to the Eye of the All-Father to commune with answers, but Blagothkus was insistent that such a search was folly. He said it would be better to go directly to the Maelstrom and speak with King Hekaton himself. The party also meets Hobart Boldmeadow, who had caught a ride with Blagothkus, and is recognized as something of a hero. Upon returning to the surface, the Sisters and Elminster suggest Hobart accompany the Spellforged and offer his expertise.
  • The Spellforged honor the invitation to Thay in order to discuss the possibility of Thay's aid given their investment in ensuring the rogue Red Wizards are removed. The group is tortured and interrogated via magic in their dreams, and the Thayans do not get the information nor cooperation they desired. Nayiss manages to forcibly eject the Red Wizards from her mind due to a seeming connection to the demon lord, Shaktari. The interrogation is not mentioned the following day, but the Thayan representative informs them they will not be present on the council as there are other concerns they need to focus on that they have dubbed more dire.
  • The Spellforged return to Waterdeep and decide to accompany Harshnag to the Eye of the All-Father without informing Blagothkus. A Cult of the Dragon presence is revealed at the temple. They are able to get valuable answers—including the revelation that Blagothkus had killed his son Eigeron when they had journeyed to the Eye themselves—but are confronted by Severin Silrajin, Arkhan, and other members of the Cult. The Spellforged is able to escape via plane shift to Arborea with the body of Blagothkus's son, and Arkhan collapses the temple to ensure it cannot be used again. The body of Eigeron is left in the custody of Lady Rain until the Spellforged have the power to resurrect him to enact justice on his father.
  • They return to Waterdeep to rest for a night, and Nayiss is able to hold a conversation with Shaktari in her dreams. In the process, Nayiss witnesses a massive tidal wave of blood that crashes through the Abyss before arriving at the throne of the demon lord, Graz'zt, where Nayiss also sees her mother, Reluhantis, before the nightmare ends. Jarkul expresses he will try to uncover if there is any word of such an event.
  • The Spellforged then meet with Blagothkus and accompany him to the Maelstrom, where they are able to speak with the storm giant, Serissa, and inform her of what had been uncovered at the Eye—including that her advisor, Imeria, is actually the blue greatwyrm, Imyrith, in disguise. Blaire also offers to attempt a resurrection ritual on Serissa's mother, Queen Neri, if funding could be provided. Serissa's sisters try to frame the Spellforged for an attack, but are foiled, and Imyrith is outed. She manages to steal the wyrmskull throne and escape, and Queen Neri is successfully resurrected.
  • The Spellforged try to acquire treasure from Imyrith's lair so they can scry on it and organize an assault to recover the throne. The mercenary group that killed Neri was believed to have been connected to the Golden Goose casino in Yartar. They are able to speak with the owner (Khaspere Drylund) of the Grand Dame, the riverboat the Golden Goose casino is located on, and they get him to agree to their investigation later that night, though Blaire, eavesdropping as a seagull, overhead him emphasize to his chief of security, Pow Ming, that they weren't to be allowed in the crew's quarters without an escort.
