Awakened Arrow
The deadliest of weapons are those unseen until they hit their marks. While arrows may come in a variety of magical arrowheads, your relic is both its bow and its munition. One supplies the other, one provides its force, while you provide the two their full potential. Through survival and challenges, you may grow to enhance your relic new ranged capabilities, just as it empowers you in the art of sharpshooting.
Relic of Marksmanship
Upon taking this subclass at 3rd level, your relic manifests as one of the ranged weapons on your person, if it wasn't already. Such a relic provides you the following benefits:
- Your relic counts as magical for the purpose of overcoming resistance and immunity to nonmagical attacks and damage.
- Your relic can produce its own ammunition, automatically creating one piece of ammunition when you make a ranged attack with it. The ammunition created vanishes the instant after it hits or misses a target.
- When you make a ranged attack with your relic, You can use your Strength modifier, rather than your Dexterity, for the attack and damage rolls.
- When teleporting your relic to your hand, as a bonus action, or upon rolling initiative, you can change the form your relic uses (see the PHB Weapons section for ranged weapon options).
Locked On
Also at 3rd level, you can channel your relic's magic to guide its shots towards a desired target. Upon using a trigger, you may mark a creature you can see or hear. Until your trigger ends or when the marked creature dies, choose one of the following:
- Deep Cut. Your attacks against this creature deals extra damage equal to your proficiency bonus.
- Debilitate. On a hit, you halve the marked target's speed until the start of your next turn. If you have already halved their movement speed, you can instead force them to make a Strength saving throw (DC = 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Constitution modifier) or fall prone.
- Re-Direct. Upon missing an attack roll against another creature, you may instead immediately make an attack roll against your marked creature. You do not add your attack or damage modifiers to the rolls.
- Reposition. You can move up to half your speed as a reaction when the marked target ends its turn within 15 feet of you.
Dead-Eye
Starting at 6th level, your relic has provided you unnatural vision to improve its use. You gain proficiency in the Perception skill, and gain darkvision out to a range of 60 feet. This darkvision allows you to see in magical darkness.
Moreover, you have advantage on saving throws against being blinded.
Critical Aim
At 10th level, your relic's shots become deadlier each time they strike the same target. Each time you hit a creature, you increase your relic's critical hit range towards that creature by one. You can increase this up to an amount equal to your proficiency bonus.
This bonus ends upon scoring a critical hit against that creature, or upon hitting a different creature.
Death's Mark
Upon reaching 14th level, choose one of the following benefits:
- You can swap your chosen locked on ability as a bonus action on each of your turns.
- Marked creatures cannot benefit from being hidden or invisible to from you. If any non-creature cover would be between you and your target while they would be in range of an attack, you may spend an action to teleport to an unoccupied space within 90 feet of them with no cover between the two of you.
- If your marked target drops to 0 hit points before the minute ends, you can move your mark to the next creature you hit with your relic.
Relic of Barrages
Upon reaching 20th level, you can attack three times, instead of twice, whenever you take the Attack action on your turn.
