Fruy
"What? You're telling me you've never seen a fruy before? Gosh, you're really missing out there, mate. These beauties are living, breathing, drinking, *FRUITS*! I swear! They're the most adorable thing i've ever seen. We had one - a peach-lad called Poyo - travel with us for a month. Best month i've had in years, cross my heart. Fella was like a beacon of positivity, no matter how many times Ga'al asked if they were edible. I gave them one of my favorite daggers when they left. Looked like a bloody greatsword in their hands, I tell ya.
Just... Just don't mention fruys near Aramine, alright? She really misses the little fella." - Olley, the Winter Trickster.
While extraplanar races often originate from humanoid parents, a fruy is an example of extraplanar energy creating a new race through non humanoid creatures. Fruys are sentient fruits with small limbs, permanently suffused with life-giving magic and nature. Stereotyped as filled with endless positivity, these small folks come in all shapes and sizes.

Small and Fruity
Short and sweet, fruys are considered to be the most adorable race within Galdera. Stemming from all over the world, these rare enlarged fruits wander in order to see life grow before they settle down in order to become a tree. Any fruit tree has the possibility of becoming a fruy tree, and as a result fruys come in various shapes and sizes. From the large coconuts to the sour citrus, these fruits of life desire nothing more than to see life bloom.
Fruys vary around 2 to 4 feet tall, and weigh between 15 to 80 pounds. A Fruy drops from their tree after a year of growth, and generally lives up to 20 years before planting itself to become a Fruy tree.
Planar Touched
Fruys trace their sapience from the magical energy that seeps from the filters of earth and positivity. When this magic is absorbed into a fruit tree, the magic permanently alters it, causing its fruits to be bursting with magic.
These fruits grow sentience as soon as they start to grow from their tree, absorbing information from everything going on around them. After a year, These fruits become ripe with magic, causing them to drop and develop sapience. It is then that a fruy is ready to take on the word.
Poisoned by Greed
Fruys are known to share no ill will towards anyone, as everyone deserves to grow on this beautiful world. Some groups have abused the fruys gentleness and attempted to harness the magic within these fruits, corrupting the trees they've experimented on as a result. The number of fruy trees affected in such a manner is still unknown, but fruys who grow from these trees are known as the Rotten, born wishing to see non-plant life wilt away from the world.
Fruy Names
A fruy's name is often the first thing it says when it first falls from its parent, signifying its independence. These are often words spoken near the tree, often mispronounced once the Fruy falls. While their names may sound infantile in nature, for a Fruy their name is the very first thing they have ever owned, and so they value their name dearly.

- Age. Fruys can live up to half a century after falling from their tree.
- Creature Type. You are a Plant.
- Rarity. Uncommon. Thanks to how fast Fruys reproduce, Galdera is filled with these various fruit-looking beings.
- Size. Fruys are around two to three feet tall. You are Small.
- Speed. Your walking speed is 30 feet.
- Fruity Gift. A fruy's connection to life-giving magic boosts certain of its characteristics depending on its type of fruit. Choose one of the following gifts for your fruy.
- Adorable and Sweet. A creature who consumes a vial from your life-giving juice trait also gains temporary hit points equal to the total, which last for one hour or until dropped to 0.
- Expendable Double. You can sacrifice your other half in order to survive a blow. When you take damage, you can use your reaction to roll a number of d4's equal to your proficiency bonus. Add your Dexterity modifier to the number rolled, and reduce the damage by that total. After you use this trait, you can’t use it again until you finish a short or long rest.
- Hearty Body. Your hit point maximum increases by 1, and it increases by 1 every time you gain a level.
- Rotten to your Core. You have resistance to necrotic and poison damage, and you have advantage on saving throws against being poisoned.
- Sour Blood. Your blood stings your attackers. When you are hit by an attack, you can use your reaction to force your attacker to roll a Dexterity saving throw if they are within 10 feet of you. On a failure, they are blinded until the end of their next turn. The DC for this save is 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Dexterity modifier. Once you use this trait, you can’t use it again until you finish a short or long rest.
- Sturdy Skin. Your hard exterior makes it difficult to wear armor. Your shell gives you a base AC of 16 (your Dexterity modifier does not affect this number). You gain no benefit from wearing armor, but you can apply a shield's bonus as normal if you are using one. Moreover, whenever you would fall on a creature and take fall damage, you take half the damage while the creature takes half the damage you would have taken normally.
- Life-giving Juice. As a bonus action, you can create a vial of healing juice, which can be consumed as a bonus action. A creature who consumes this vial rolls a number of d8's equal to half your proficiency bonus (rounded up), regaining a number of hit points equal to the total. This vial has an ac of 10, 1 hit point, and spoils after 24 hours.
- Once you have used this trait, you can't use it again until you finish a long rest.
- Cursed with Knowledge. Choose Arcana, History, Nature, or Religion. Each time you make an Intelligence check with that skill, you treat a d20 roll of 7 or lower as an 8.
- Nature's Rejuvenation. By your nature, you don't need to eat.
- While you are dead and buried in fertile ground, you can be targeted by the *Plant Growth* spell in order to be brought back to life at 1 hit point. This trait fails if you have been dead for over 3 days, or have died of old age. The spellcaster must choose to perform the 8 hour version of the spell to bring you back to 1 hit point, reviving you once the duration has passed.
- Sweet Trickery. You have advantage on Dexterity (Stealth) checks made to pass off as an inanimate fruit, and count as one size smaller for the purpose of moving through another creature's space.
"Poyo? Oh... They were like one of the kids back at the orphanage I used to work in. I... I felt a desire to protect them, like they were my family back home." - Aramine, Chosen of the Beast of Flames.
