College of Sound
The quest for the perfect music, tone, or sound is one taken by many bards, but those of the College of Sound take up the majority of such individuals. Such a quest grants these folks the ability to finely control the noise around it, be it to mimic, project, or deafen their foes.
Master of Music
When you take this college at 3rd level, you gain proficiency in three musical instruments of your choice, as well as shields.
You can use instruments you are proficient with as weapons. They have a range of 120 feet, use your Charisma modifier for their attack and damage rolls, and deal thunder damage equal to your bardic inspiration die.
A creature who is deafened is immune to these attacks.
Manipulate Noise
Also at 3rd level, your inspirations empower your allies through silence. Creatures can gain a bardic inspiration die from you even when they would normally not be able to hear you.
While a creature is in possession of one of your bardic inspiration die, they can’t be deafened. If this creature uses this inspiration die while deafened, they are cured of the condition.
Finally, A bardic inspiration die used on an attack roll forces the target to make a Constitution saving throw against your spell save DC or take extra thunder damage equal to the roll.
Powerful Noise
Upon reaching 6th level, you can attack twice, instead of once, whenever you take the Attack action on your turn and attack with your instruments.
Manipulate Speech
Also at 6th level, you have become an expert in projecting your voice, or mimicking one you can hear.
- You can cast spells from any space within 15 feet of you, so long as you can see that space and the spell has a vocal (V) component.
- You can project your voice, causing your voice to be heard as if it originated from a space you can see within 60 feet of you.
- You can perfectly mimic other creatures voices and their sounds. You must have heard the voices and sounds once before. When rolling a Charisma (Deception) check to mimic voices and sounds, you treat a d20 roll of 9 or lower as a than 10 instead.
Explosive Inspiration
At 14th level, your enemies hold a deaf ear to your inspirations, literally. A creature who fails the Constitution save from your Manipulate Noise feature is also deafened to everyone but you until the end of your next turn, and any hostile creatures within 15 feet of them also take thunder damage equal to the bardic inspiration roll.
