Circle of Eclipses
Druids of the Eclipse represent the darkest horrors within the wild. One connected with the monstrosities and aberrations across the world, and the eldritch stains that permeate wildlife. While the wild may be the blood of Moon druids, its horror is what flows through yours.
Form of Horror
Upon taking this circle at 2nd level, you can harness the power of the dark sun and moon and make yourself a monster. As a bonus action, you can expend a use of your Wild Shape feature to take on a form of horror, rather than transforming into a beast.
While in your form of horror, you retain your game statistics, but your body becomes a thing of eldritch disgust. This form provides you resistance to psychic damage. The form lasts for 5 minutes. It ends early if you dismiss it (no action required), are incapacitated, die, or use this feature again.
Whenever you assume your form of horror, choose which of the following aberrant blessings your body gains; your choice gives you certain benefits while in the form:
- Eyes of the Watching. You grow loose and quivering eye stalks, or your eyes become milky and foreign. When you activate this form, and as a bonus action on your subsequent turns while it lasts, you can make a ranged spell attack, emitting eldritch sights towards a creature within 90 feet of you that can see you. On a hit, the attack deals psychic damage equal to 1d6 + your Wisdom modifier. Until the start of your next turn, that creature cannot hide from you, and gains no benefits from cover.
- Tentacles of the Caressing. Multiple oozing and gentle tentacles emerge from your body. You gain a climbing speed equal to your walking speed, can cast spells with a range of touch towards creatures up to 15 feet away from you, and can grapple creatures within 15 feet of you. You use your Wisdom modifier for grapple checks.
- Whispers of the Forgotten. Endless whispers of untold knowledge float within your mouths. When a creature within 60 feet of you would make an Intelligence, Wisdom, Charisma saving throw or check, you can spend a reaction to roll 1d4 and subtract the total from their roll.
Eldritch Wild Shape
Also at 2nd level, your wildshaping has been touched with the foreign horrors. When using your Wildshape feature, you can change your form's type to Aberration. Doing so grants you telepathy within a range of 10 feet.
Additionally, each time you spend a use of your Wild Shape, you can force any hostile within 30 feet of you to make a Wisdom saving throw against your spell save DC. On a failed save, a creature is frightened of you until your start your next turn.
True Terror
At 6th level, your connection to the eldritch touch of nature petrifies your foes in terror. Once per turn, you can force a creature you deal damage to to make a Wisdom saving throw against your spell save DC, being frightened of you until the start of your next turn. If such a creature was already frightened, they are instead incapacitated until the start of your next turn.
When frightening a creature through your Eldritch Wild Shape or True Terror features, creatures immune to being frightened instead have advantage on saving throws against being frightened. Aberrations are immune to this.
Gift of the Eclipse
At 10th level, your Form of Horror grows stronger.
- Your Eye of the Watching increases to a 2d6, and you can see invisible creatures and creatures in the ethereal plane within 30 feet of you as if they were visible.
- The range of your Tentacles of the Caressing increases to 30 feet. Each time you cast a spell on your turn, you can attempt to grapple a creature within range as a bonus action.
- Your Whispers of the Forgotten Tongue increase to a 1d6, and allows you to speak to any creatures and understand them, regardless if they don't share a language with you.
Avatar of Horror
Upon reaching 14th level, you can become a true eldritch being. You can expend two uses of your Wild Shape feature to take on the form of any Monstrosity or Aberration with a challenge rating equal or lower than half your levels in this class. This wildshape lasts for 10 minutes.
Once you use this feature, you must finish a long rest before you can use it again.
