Conclave of the Sky-Walker
To many, the sky is a land left for birds, dragons, and other flying creatures. Others take it upon their own hands to make the sky their home, no matter where they originated before. Soaring Protectos are many of these folks, taking it up to the sky to protect it and the world around them. With or without wings, these rangers are masters of maneuvering and mobility.
Sky-Walker Magic
Starting at 3rd level, you learn an additional spell when you reach certain levels in this class, as shown in the Soaring Spells table. The spell counts as a ranger spell for you, but it doesn't count against the number of ranger spells you know.
| Ranger Level | Spells |
|---|---|
| 3rd | Featherfall |
| 5th | Gust of Wind |
| 9th | Lightning Arrow |
| 13th | Storm Sphere |
| 17th | Control Winds |
Rising to the Sky
Upon taking this Conclave at 3rd level, the winds aid you in your time of need. When taking the Attack action or casting a spell, you can move up to 30 feet (or as much as you can if there is a ceiling), at which point you hover in the air until the end of your next turn. Attacks of opportunity caused by this are done with disadvantage.
While in the air, you can move horizontally at half your walking speed. You don’t take falling damage when falling this way.
You can use this feature a number of times equal to half your proficiency bonus. You regain a use of this feature at the end of a short rest, and regain all expended uses at the end of a long rest.
High Ground
Also at 3rd level, your can exploit your height advantage against foes from below. Once per turn, when you deal damage to a creature in a space below you horizontally, you deal an extra 1d8 damage of the weapon’s damage type.
Evasive Maneuvers
At 7th level, When an attack would miss you or you succeed a Dexterity saving throw, you can spend a reaction to move half your movement. This movement does not provoke attacks of opportunity.
Take Flight
At 11th level, you gain a flying speed equal to your walking speed when using your Rising to the Sky feature, and can spend your bonus action on each turn to continue this effect to the next turn, to a maximum of 10 minutes.
Additionally, once per turn when you make a ranged attack roll and miss, you can instead target another creature within 30 feet of your first target and try to hit them with your previous roll.
Ascend With Me
At 15th level, you gain resistance to thunder and lightning damage, double your temporary flying speed, and can force any hostile creatures within 15 feet of to succeed a strength save or rise up 30ft with you.
