Silhouette

Masters of the shadows and the night, a Silhouette rogue knows how to use the illumination around them to the fullest. Capable of weaving the shadows of others into illusory duplicates, these tricksters can weave through and into the darkness, allowing them to even hide unnoticed within someones shadow.

Shadow Strike

When you choose this archetype at 3rd level, you know how to slip through shadows. Whenever you are in dim light or darkness, you can teleport up to 30 feet to an unoccupied space you can see that is also in dim light or darkness. You can perform this teleport as part of making a weapon attack, either to teleport towards a creature you wish to attack or away from one you're attacking. You must choose to make this teleport after attacking a creature, but before you know if the attack is a success or failure.

When making such an attack, you can use your Sneak Attack against that target even if you don't have advantage on the attack roll, but not if you have disadvantage on it.

You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest. Once per long rest, you can choose to regain one use of this feature upon dealing Sneak Attack damage.

Shade Thief

At 3rd level, you have the ability to steal someone's shadow and use it to make a duplicate of yourself. Upon dealing your Sneak Attack damage to a creature on your turn, you can cast Mirror Image as a bonus action. Casting the spell in this manner only gives you one illusory duplicate, as you steal the creature's shadow and the darkness around it.

You create more shadowy duplicate as you progress in this class, creating an extra duplicate at 8th (2) and 12th (3) level whenever you cast *Mirror Image* using this feature.

You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.

Umbral Sight

Also at 3rd level, you gain darkvision out to a range of 60 feet. If you already have darkvision from your race, its range increases by 30 feet.

Occupy Shade

Starting at 9th level, you can hide within a creatures shade.

Whenever you are within 10 feet of a creature in bright or dim light and hidden from them, you can use your action to create and enter an extradimensional space within the targets space. This extradimensional space moves with the target, and is invisible from the outside as it appears as a normal shadow. Attacks and spells can't cross through the entrance into or out of the extradimensional space, but you can see out of it as if you were in the targets space. A creature who can see into the Ethereal plane, such as one affected by the True Seeing spell, can see you within the extradimensional space.

This space lasts for one hour, or until you exit it as a bonus action or by making a weapon attack against the target of this feature or someone within 5 feet of them, at which point you land in an unoccupied space within 5 feet of them. If you attack the target of this feature in this way, you have advantage on the attack roll. This space can only hold you and any objects you are wearing or carrying, and ejects everything within it when you exit it.

Once you have used this feature, you can't use it again until you finish a long rest.

Empowered Shadow

At 13th level, you gain a new method of moving through your Shadow Strike feature. You can teleport up to 60 feet now, and can teleport to or from an unoccupied space within 5 feet of a creature in dim or bright light. Additionally, you can replace the attack made towards the creature and instead perform your Occupy Shade feature.

Banish into the Dark

At 17th level, you can trap someone within your shadow. Immediately after you deal your Sneak Attack damage to a creature on your turn, you can force it to make a Charisma saving throw (DC = 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Wisdom modifier). On a failure, the target is trapped into an invisible extradimensional space within your own space, following you. For the next ten minutes, the target can repeat this save at the end of every minute, ending the effect early on a success. Attacks and spells can't cross through the entrance into or out of the extradimensional space, you can see into this extradimensional space, and you can release the creature early as a bonus action. Upon being released, the creature lands in an unoccupied space within 5 feet of you.

Once you have successfully used this feature, you can't use it again until you finish a long rest.
