Principle of the Mystical Strategist

Tacticians who delve in magecraft learn how to summon creatures to aid them in battle, capable of tipping their forces and overwhelm their enemies through sheer numbers and divination.

Spellcasting

When you reach 3rd level, you empower your strategies with the ability to cast spells.

Cantrips

You learn three cantrips: Message and two other cantrips of your choice from the wizard spell list. You learn an extra wizard cantrip of your choice at 10th level.

Spell Slots

The Mystical Strategist Spellcasting table shows how many spell slots you have to cast your spells of 1st level and higher. To cast one of these spells, you must expend a slot of the spell's level or higher. You regain all expended spell slots when you finish a long rest.

For example, if you know the 1st-level spell Ice Knife and have a 1st-level and a 2nd-level spell slot available, you can cast Ice Knife using either slot.

Spells Known of 1st Level and Higher

You know three 1st-level wizard spells of your choice, two of which you must choose from the conjuration and divination spells on the wizard spell list.

The Spells Known column of the Mystical Strategist Spellcasting table shows when you learn more wizard spells of 1st level or higher. Each of these spells must be a conjuration or divination spell of your choice, and must be of a level for which you have spell slots. For instance, when you reach 7th level in this class, you can learn one new spell of 1st or 2nd level.

The spells you learn at 8th, 14th, and 20th level can come from any school of magic.

Whenever you gain a level in this class, you can replace one of the wizard spells you know with another spell of your choice from the wizard spell list. The new spell must be of a level for which you have spell slots, and it must be an conjuration or divination spell, unless you're replacing the spell you gained at 3rd, 8th, 14th, or 20th level from any school of magic.

Spellcasting Ability

Intelligence is your spellcasting ability for your wizard spells, since you learn your spells through study and practice. You use your Intelligence whenever a spell refers to your spellcasting ability. In addition, you use your Intelligence modifier when setting the saving throw DC for a wizard spell you cast and when making an attack roll with one.

Spell Save DC = 8 + your Proficiency Bonus + your Intelligence Modifier
Spell Attack Modifier = your Proficiency Bonus + your Intelligence Modifier

Ritual Casting

You can cast a wizard spell as a ritual if that spell has the ritual tag and you have the spell prepared.

Battle Reports

Starting at 3rd level, whenever you cast Message, you can perform one the following tasks with it:

Additionally, you can use the bonus action provided by your Strategic Action to cast this spell.

Tactical Multitasking

At 6th level, your focus on spells is unbreakable. Whenever you expend a Combat Tactic, you gain a bonus equal to your Intelligence modifier (minimum of +1) to any Constitution saving throws you make to maintain your concentration on a spell. This bonus lasts until the start of your next turn.

Arcane Repositioning

At 10th level, you can use your studies in magic to quickly reposition allies. As an action, choose two willing creatures that you can see within 120 feet of you. You teleport both in one of the following ways: - Both targets swap spaces. - Both targets are teleported to an unoccupied space within 10 feet of you. - You teleport one target to an unoccupied space within 5 feet of the other target.

You fail to affect the targets if there is not enough unoccupied space for them to teleport into. Once you have successfully used this feature, you cannot use it again until you finish a short or long rest.

Master Stratagem

Starting at 14th level, you learn one of the following stratagems, which you can perform once per long rest.
