Historian
Prerequisite(s): Intelligence 13
Your study of history rewards you with the following benefits:
- Bonus Proficiency. You gain proficiency in the Society skill. If you are already proficient in the skill, you gain Expertise with it instead.
- Scholarly Aid. When you take the Help action to aid another creature's Ability Check, you can make a DC 15 Intelligence (Society) check. On a success, that creature's check gains a bonus equal to your Proficiency Bonus, as you share pertinent advice and historical examples over the course of 1 minute. To receive this bonus, the creature must be able to understand what you're saying. The DM may rule that certain checks, such as Stealth, may not be able to gain this bonus.
- Scholarly Lore. When you make an Intelligence (Society) check and roll a 20 on the check, you gain a flash of insight on the topic, gaining the benefits of casting legend lore on the subject of the roll. Once you do, you can't do so again until you finish a Long Rest.
