Components: VSM (a pinch of talc and a small sprinkling of powdered silver)
Duration: 8 hours
Target. One willing creature.
Effect. For the duration, the target has darkvision out to a range of 60 feet. If it already has darkvision, the range of its darkvision increases by 30 feet. Darkvision granted or enhanced by this spell can see through magical darkness as long as it was created with a spell of a level lower than the level this spell was cast. In addition, the target can see Invisible creatures and objects as if they were visible within the range of its darkvision, and it can see into the Ethereal Plane. Ethereal creatures and objects appear ghostly and translucent.
At Higher Levels.
- 3rd level or higher: The range of the darkvision increases by 30 feet for each slot level above 2nd.
- 4th level or higher: Within its darkvision, the target can see the true form of any shapechanger or creature concealed by illusion or transmutation magic.
- 6th level or higher: Within its darkvision, the target has truesight.
- 8th level or higher: Within its darkvision, the target can automatically tell if a creature is possessed by a creature such as a ghost, or if a creature that can affect, control, or exert influence is hiding in the creature, such as a parasite or intellect devourer, and it can use its Action to see through solid objects within its darkvision for 1 minute or until their concentration ends (as if they were concentrating on a spell). During that time, you perceive objects as ghostly, transparent images.
