Orate Text

2nd-Level Illusion
Casting Time: 1 action
Range: 30 feet
Components: VSM (a strand of woven ribbon)
Duration: 1 hour

Target. One piece of written text within range, such as a single book or a piece of parchment or one creature.
Effect. The spell audibly recites the written work via a disembodied voice and will continue doing so for the duration or until it finishes the complete text. If the spell is reciting the text of a book, the oration can be paused by closing the book—using a strand of woven ribbon as a bookmark for where the spell should resume when the book is opened again. The voice is clearly audible to creatures up to 30 feet away, and the sound of the voice is up to the preferences of the caster. The reciting of the text is no faster than it would be if someone were to read the text normally, and it is read in the language the text has been written in.
When cast on a creature, when that creature communicates by signing, the meaning of their signs is vocalized in a language the creature knows.
Special. When you cast this spell upon a piece of written text, you may place the strand of woven ribbon at the point where you would like the oration to begin, otherwise the spell will start at the beginning.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 4th level or 5th level, the duration is 8 hours. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 6th or 7th level, the duration is 24 hours if you target a creature, or until dispelled if you target an object. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 8th level or higher, the duration is 10 days.
