Target. An unoccupied space that you can see within range.
Effect. You call forth a gelatinous spirit. This corporeal form uses the Ooze Spirit stat block. When you cast the spell, choose a type of ooze: Gelatinous, Plasmoid, Pudding, or Mimic. The spirit resembles an ooze of the chosen type, which determines the Ooze Spirit stat block it uses. The creature disappears when it drops to 0 hit points or when the spell ends. The creature is an ally to you and your companions. In combat, the creature shares your initiative count, but takes its turn immediately after yours. It obeys your verbal commands (no action required by you). If you don't issue any, it takes the Dodge action and uses its Move to avoid danger.
At Higher Levels. Use the higher level wherever the spell's level appears in the stat block.

Traits

Transparent. Even when the ooze in plain sight, it takes a successful DC Caster Spell Save DC Perception check to spot the ooze if it has neither moved nor attacked. Hostile creatures can move through the ooze's space, but a creature that tries to enter the ooze's space is subjected to its Engulf.

Actions

Multiattack. The ooze makes a number of attacks equal to one third of this spell's level (rounded up).

Pseudopod. Melee Weapon Attack: +Spell Attack modifier to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 2d6 + 3 + Spell Level acid damage. The ooze can spend a flourish to attempt to engulf the target.

Engulf. If the creature is Large or smaller, it must succeed on a DC Caster Spell Save DC Dexterity saving throw. On a failure, the ooze moves into the creature's space and it is engulfed. The engulfed creature can't breathe, is Restrained, and takes 4d6 + 5 acid damage at the start of each of the ooze's turns, but it can't be targeted by the ooze's pseudopod. When the cube moves, the engulfed creature moves with it. An engulfed creature can try to escape by taking an Action to make a DC Caster Spell Save DC Athletics check. On a success, the creature escapes and enters a space of its choice within 5 feet of the ooze. The ooze can hold only one Large creature or up to four Medium or smaller creatures inside it at a time.

Traits

Adhesive. The ooze adheres to anything that touches it or hits it with a melee attack. A Huge or smaller creature adhered to the ooze is also Grappled by it. Ability checks and saving throws made to escape this Grapple have Disadvantage.

Grappler. The ooze has Advantage on attack rolls against any creature Grappled by it.

False Appearance. While the ooze remains motionless, it is indistinguishable from an ordinary object.

Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +Spell Attack modifier to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 1d6 + 2 + Spell Level piercing damage plus 1d6 acid damage. The ooze can spend a flourish to attempt to subject the target to its Adhesive trait.

Shapechange. The ooze polymorphs into an object or back into its true, amorphous form. Its statistics are the same in each form. Any equipment it is wearing or carrying isn't transformed.

Corrosive Body. A creature that touches the ooze or hits it with a melee attack while within 5 feet of it takes 1d8 acid damage. If the creature rolls a natural 1 against it with an attack with a nonmagical weapon made of metal or wood, it is destroyed.

Spider Climb. The ooze can climb difficult surfaces, including upside down on ceilings, without needing to make an ability check.
