Arcane Sword

You create a sword-shaped plane of force that hovers by your side or around a creature within range. It lasts for the duration.

When the sword appears near a creature, you make a melee spell attack against it. On a hit, the target takes 3d10 force damage. The sword hovers near the last creature it attacked, following it if it moves. At the beginning of your turn, you may repeat the melee spell attack against the same creature or recall the sword to your side (requiring no action).

While the sword is floating at your side, you may use a bonus action send the sword to a target within range and make the same melee spell attack against it.

If a creature moves out of the range of the spell, you may use your reaction to make an attack of opportunity against that creature using the spell attack. Then, the sword returns to your side.

At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 7th level or higher, you conjure an additional sword for each slot level above 7th. You may command any number of them with the same bonus action. If multiple swords hover around a single target, the damage of the melee spell attack increases by 1d10 for each sword attacking the target.
