Polymorph
4th-Level Transmutation
Casting Time: 1 action
Range: 60 feet
Components: VSM (a caterpillar cocoon)
Duration: (C) 1 hour
You attempt to transform a creature that has more than 0 hit points that you can see within range into a Beast. The target must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw or shape-shift into Beast form for the duration. A shapechanger can automatically succeeds on this saving throw. That form can be any Beast you choose that has a Challenge Rating equal to or less than the target’s (or the target’s level if it doesn’t have a Challenge Rating). The target’s game statistics are replaced by the stat block of the chosen Beast, but the target retains its alignment, personality, creature type, Hit Points, and Hit Point Dice. The spell has different effects based on if the target was willing or unwilling:
Willing. If the new form's hit points are higher than the target's hit point maximum, they gain temporary hit points equal to the difference. When the spell ends, the target loses any remaining temporary hit points from this spell.
Unwilling. The spell ends if the creature takes damage from a source other than itself.
The creature is limited in the actions it can perform by the nature of its new form, and it can't speak, cast spells, or take any other action that requires hands or speech. The target's gear melds into the new form. The creature can't activate, use, wield, or otherwise benefit from any of its equipment.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 5th level or higher, the duration increases by 1 hour for each slot level above 4th.
