Duration: 1 Round
Target. One creature within the reach of your weapon.
Attack Roll. Melee weapon attack with the weapon used to cast the spell.
Hit. The weapon attack's normal damage, and static electricity begins to build on the target. At the end of the creature's next turn, it takes lightning damage equal to your spellcasting ability modifier, evenly divided among all creatures hostile to you within 5 feet of the target.
Cantrip Progression. This spell's damage increases when you reach higher levels. At 5th level, the melee attack deals an extra 1d8 lightning damage to the target on a hit, and the lightning damage split amongst it and other enemies increases to
1d8 + your spellcasting ability modifier
. Both damage rolls increase by 1d8 at 11th level (2d8 and 2d8), 17th level (3d8 and 3d8), 23rd level (4d8 and 4d8), and 28th level (5d8 and 5d8).
