For the duration, you can comprehend and verbally communicate with Beasts, as well some Beast-like Monstrosities, Fey, and similar creatures, and you can use any of the Influence action's skill options with them.
Most Beasts have little to say about topics that don't pertain to survival or companionship, but at minimum, a Beast can give you information about nearby locations and monsters, including whatever it has perceived within the past day.
At Higher Levels. If you cast this spell using a spell slot of 5th level or higher, the duration is 1 hour. If you cast this spell using a spell slot of 7th level or higher, the duration is 8 hours. If you cast this spell using a spell slot of 9th level or higher, the duration is 24 hours.
