Chapter Three: The Scales Tip
Grotan was one of the ones among the Thunderlords who were feuding for leadership following the opening of the Dark Portal and the death of his father Fenris. However, upon the death of his brother, Hatock, by Arthak Saurfang's hand he and his remaining brother, Skal, entered into a joint leadership of the clan rather than allow it to fall to ruin.
As a show of good faith to Arthak, Grotan served as one of the representatives of the Thunderlords present at the first meeting of Arthak's Clipped Wing coalition at Stormreaver Spire where he actively fought to fend off the ambush of the Thalassian Resistance.
