Come into my parlor, oh lost little fly, and embrace the penumbral Balance."

The Oculus of Equilibrium is a belt created by Montblanc, the Silver Widow. A tool of defiance, control, and balance, this belt grants him supernatural sight and protections against those who would harm the Order of Lost Gods. The belt is connected to him intrinsically, and cannot be used by anyone else.

History

This eldritch belt was formed from an Eye of N'Zoth that was originally used to twist Montblanc into a servant of the Old Gods. However, the Silver Widow is not one to dance upon the strings of another. Through silk and spite, he cut himself free from the Deep One's web and wove his own. The stolen Eye became a locus of power through which the Broodqueen foresaw a future of his own. Now a tool used to preserve the Balance, this metaphorical "fourth eye" not only gives the Broodqueen sight beyond his own prodigious abilities, but allows him to see the threads of destiny and spin them into a tapestry of his own design.

Properties

While attuned to and wearing the Oculus of Equilibrium, you gain the following benefits:

Fourth Eye. You are immune to the Blinded condition and have Truesight out to 120 feet. Your Truesight can detect the presence of direct exertion within creatures, such as possession by a ghost or dreadlord, or by parasites. Additionally, as an action, you can see through solid objects for 1 minute or until your concentration ends. During this time, you perceive objects as shadowy, transparent images.
Mind Web. You are immune to psychic damage, the Charmed condition, and any effect that would sense your emotions or read your thoughts. You automatically know when you are targeted by a Divination spell, and may choose to be immune to it. If you don't, you instead automatically fail saving throws associated with them, but learn who cast the spell on you and what they learned from it. When this happens, you may use your Reaction to cast Telepathy on the caster with a duration of 10 minutes.
As Above. When a creature within 60 feet of you makes a d20 test and rolls a result of 9 or lower on the die, you can use your Reaction and expend a charge of As Above to weave a different fate for the target. Add twice the difference between the result and 10 and change the result of the die to that number; a 9 becomes an 11, a 5 becomes a 15, and a 1 becomes a 20. You have four charges of As Above. When you expend a charge of So Below, gain one charge of As Above.
So Below. When a creature within 60 feet of you makes a d20 test and rolls a result of 11 or higher on the die, you can use your Reaction and expend a charge of So Below to weave a different fate for the target. Subtract twice the difference between the result and 10 and change the result to that number; an 11 becomes a 9, a 15 becomes a 5, and a 20 becomes a 1. You have four charges of So Below. When you expend a charge of As Above, gain one charge of So Below.
