Serpent Arrow
Serpent Arrow Rare Ammunition Use: Inflicts poison damage on a hit and can be turned into a snake.
This magic arrow is painted with alternating bands of black, red, and yellow, and its steel head is hammered into the shape of a serpent's fang.
Properties
- When you make a ranged attack and score a hit with it, the target must make a successful DC 11 Constitution saving throw, taking 3d6 poison damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one. The arrow then loses its magic. If the attacker rolls a flourish using this arrow, they may use it to transform the arrow into a poisonous snake. The snake is friendly to you, and takes its turn immediately after you before rolling initiative and acting normally. The arrow stays animated as a snake for 1 minute or until it is reduced to 0 hit points, where it transforms back into a nonmagical arrow (and is destroyed if the snake is reduced to 0 hit points).
