War of the Ancients
The War of the Ancients was an immense conflict that followed the first coming of the demonic Burning Legion to Azeroth about 10,000 years ago. It was one of the most costly wars in Azeroth's history, and it dramatically influenced the future of all life on the world for millennia in the future. It led to the Great Sundering, which was a cataclysmic event that tore the planet's landmass apart, but it was also the first time one of the Legion's invasions of a world had ever been stopped.
