Age. Trolls have a slightly-shorter lifespan than humans, rarely living past 80 years of age. Alignment. Troll society is built upon strength, survival, and competition between others. As such, many trolls are chaotic. Because of their violent lifestyles, many lean away from good alignments, but there are, as always, exceptions. Size. Most trolls are notorious slouchers, and thus average around 7 feet. However, when they stand at their full height, they often reach heights up to 8 feet. They typically weigh between 200 and 300 pounds. There are six subtypes of trolls, however, and each subtype varies in size, from the wiry Farraki trolls to the massive, hulking Shalari trolls. Speed. Your base walking speed is 30 feet. Darkvision. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can't discern color in darkness, only shades of gray. Rapid Regeneration. Whenever you recover hit points using your hit die, recover an additional amount equal to half your proficiency bonus, rounded down. Additionally, as a bonus action, a troll may recover hit points by spending a single hit die, even if they are not currently taking a short rest. They may do this a number of times equal to their Constitution modifier (minimum 1), and regain all uses of this ability after a long rest. If you take fire damage, you lose this bonus healing and active ability until you finish a short rest or long rest Troll Combat Training. You have proficiency with handaxes, javelins, spears, battleaxes, and blowguns. Languages. You can speak, read, and write CommonandZandali. Though each subrace has a unique dialect, the language itself remains the same. Subrace. Six subraces of trolls exist: Amani, Drakkari, Farraki, Gurubashi, Shalari, and Zandalari. |
