Chimaera Shot

4th-level Conjuration
Casting Time: 1 bonus action
Range: Self
Components: V
Duration: 1 minute

The next time you make a ranged weapon attack during the spell’s duration, the weapon’s ammunition, or the weapon itself if it’s a thrown weapon, splits in two, each coated with the elemental breath of the chimaera. Make two attacks as normal, either against a single creature, or against two creatures within 30 feet of each other.
For each attack that hits, choose of the following damage types: acid, cold, fire, or lightning. You must pick different types for each target. Each hit deals an extra 2d6 damage of the chosen damage type.
If a creature takes acid or fire damage from this ability, it begins burning. If a creature takes cold damage from this spell, it is chilled for one round. If a creature takes lighting damage from this ability, it can't take reactions until the start of its next turn.
The spell ends early if you cast it again or cast another smite spell, such as black arrow or ensnaring strike.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 6th level or higher, the ammunition or weapon splits an additional time for every two spell slots above 4th level. When cast at 10th level or higher, you can pick the same damage type more than once.
