You conjure a piercing lance of freezing energy, which you hurl at a target you can see within range. Make a ranged spell attack against the target. If the attack hits, the creature takes 2d6 cold damage and 1d12 piercing damage. If the creature is chilled or frozen, the target suffers critical damage.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 2nd level or higher, the damage increases by 1d6 cold damage for each spell level above 1st.
