Forge Adept Spells
Starting at 3rd level, you always have certain spells prepared after you reach particular levels in this class, as shown in the Forge Adept Spells table. These spells count as artificer spells for you, but they don’t count against the number of artificer spells you prepare.
Artificer Level | Spells |
---|---|
3rd | shield of faith, thunderous smite |
5th | branding smite, spiritual weapon |
9th | remove curse, spirit shroud |
13th | bone shield, staggering smite |
17th | banishing smite, steel wind strike |
Masterwork Weapon
At 3rd level, you learn to enhance a weapon beyond into a masterwork version of itself. Creating a masterwork spell works like upgrading an item, but does not count toward your maximum number of upgraded items. When you finish a long rest, you can touch a magic or nonmagical simple or martial melee weapon, which becomes your masterwork weapon.
Once imbued, your masterwork weapon is a magic weapon that grants a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls. If the base weapon If it is a magic weapon that already has a bonus to those rolls, that bonus increases by 1, to a maximum of +3. This bonus increases when you reach certain levels in this class, increasing to +2 at 8th level and +3 at 13th level. If the weapon you imbued has the thrown property, it returns to your hand immediately after it is used to make a ranged attack.
Your masterwork weapon's benefits remain until the weapon is destroyed or until you use this ability to imbue a new item with this power. Other creatures can’t benefit from your masterwork weapon's abilities, and to them, it functions as the unimbued weapon did.
