Champion Technique
3rd-level Champion feature
You choose one style of combat to master, which grants you benefits at certain levels. Once this decision is made, it is final and cannot be changed.
Brutes are mighty warriors who can take hit as well as they can throw them. Warlords, reavers, and guardians embody the aspects of the brute. You gain the following benefits:
- You gain proficiency in one of the following combat traditions: Berserker, Juggernaut, Teamwork. When you gain this feature, you may choose one of the maneuvers you know and replace it with another maneuver of the same degree or lower from this tradition.
- You gain proficiency in one of the following skills of your choice: Athletics or Intimidation.
- You could as one size larger when determining your carrying capacity and the weight you can push, drag, or lift.
Duelists are deft and cunning fighters who are experts at dominating opponents. Swashbucklers, fencers, and nobles often study this discipline of combat.
- You gain proficiency in one of the following combat traditions: Duelist, Skirmisher, Skulduggery. When you gain this feature, you may choose one of the maneuvers you know and replace it with another maneuver of the same degree or lower from this tradition.
- You gain proficiency in one of the following skills of your choice: Acrobatics or Persuasion.
- All one-handed weapons you wield gain the light and finesse qualities.
Gladiators are skilled combatants who are tenacious and charismatic. Captains, crime lords, and pit fighters are natural fits for this archetype.
- You gain proficiency in one of the following combat traditions: Duelist, Nemesis, Teamwork. When you gain this feature, you may choose one of the maneuvers you know and replace it with another maneuver of the same degree or lower from this tradition.
- You gain proficiency in one of the following skills of your choice: Athletics or Performance.
- You gain the Heroic Flair ability. If you already have it, choose a second option from the Steely Mien class feature.
Improved Critical
3rd-level Champion feature
Your weapon attacks score a critical hit on a roll of 19 or 20.
Remarkable Athlete
7th-level Champion feature
You can add half your proficiency bonus (round up) to any Strength, Dexterity, or Constitution check you make that doesn't already use your proficiency bonus.
In addition, when you make a running long jump, the distance you can cover increases by a number of feet equal to your Strength or Dexterity modifier (whichever is higher).
Additional Fighting Style
10th-level Champion feature
You can choose a second option from the Fighting Style class feature.
Champion Defense
10th-level Champion feature
You master a defensive technique based on the Champion Technique you chose.
When you reroll a saving throw using the Indomitable feature, you have resistance against the effect's damage.
Attack rolls against you cannot flourish unless they are critical hits.
Whenever you spend focus, you gain temporary hit points equal to twice the amount of focus you spent.
Champion Mastery
15th-level Champion feature
You master the Champion Technique you chose.
Once per turn when you hit a creature with an attack after using a combat maneuver, your weapon deals an additional 1d10 damage.
When you flourish, you flourish twice.
When you score a critical hit, you may recover 1d4 + 1 focus.
Superior Critical
15th-level Champion feature
Your weapon attacks score a critical hit on a roll of 18-20.
Survivor
18th-level Champion feature
You attain the pinnacle of resilience in battle, giving you these benefits:
Defy Death. You have advantage on death saving throws. Moreover, when you roll an 18-20 on a death save, you gain the benefit of rolling a 20.
Heroic Rally. At the start of each of your turns, you regain hit points equal to 5 + your Constitution modifier if you have no more than half your hit points left. You don't gain this benefit if you have 0 hit points.
