Janius appeared briefly as a vision when Tol'vas Moonshadow underwent the Ritual of Balance and was confronted with memories from his childhood, where he had not been strong enough to save his childhood friend from a demonic attack on their home village. Once Tol'vas accepted that he couldn't change what had already come to pass, Janius manifested as an older version of himself, where he assured Tol'vas that it was alright he couldn't have been saved. The vision departed after leaving one of the tarts they used to steal from the bakery together in Tol'vas's hand, showing that, at least in Tol'vas's mind, he never blamed him for what happened.
