Dal'rend Blackhand is one of the sons of the Warchief, Blackhand. Considered to be a brutally efficient warleader and a devastating combatant, Rend is a despot who obeys only the command of his father. Though he and his brother, Maim lead the Black Tooth Grin clan together, most consider Dal'rend to be the true leader.

Chapter Three: The Scales Tip

Rend, along with his brother Maim, continued to serve their father's interests in the days following the opening of the Dark Portal. However, unlike most present, he and his brother were not formerly invited to the first meeting of the Clipped Wing coalition, the reason given by Arthak being he "was not sure if they would come." Even so, Rend and Maim crashed the meeting, and were among some of the most vocal critics of Arthak's plans. Unfortunately, when the Thalassian Resistance ambushed the meeting, his brother Maim was killed, leaving Rend in a fury after his brother's body was taken away with assurances by Gul'dan that they would "save him."

Dal'rend wields a blade crafted at his father's legendary forge into battle. It is a large, vicious glaive called the Blackhand Doomsaw.
