Mimics
Mimics are a type of magical monstrosity that take the form of inanimate objects in order to lure their prey into a false sense of awareness. As a result, a large variety of the creatures exist. They are frequently spawned into existence at sites of extreme magical confluence.

Book Mimic
Book mimics take the form of different types of thick tomes and codexes. However, closer inspection will result in their true nature becoming apparent. Sharp, paper-like teeth clamp down on unsuspecting hands, and an acidic ink starts to burn away any flesh it touches.
