Thalassian

Thalassian is the native language of the high elves and is largely spoken in Quel'Thalas and the surrounding areas.

Grammar Rules

Singular and Plural

Singular nouns that end with -ore can be pluralized simply by adding an -i to the end, as is the case with kaldorei.

Likewise, plural nouns that end with -orei can be changed into a singular form by simply dropping the ending -i.

In most cases this rule is true for other noun endings, though irregularities may occur on a case by case basis. This rule seems to be shared by Draconic, which may indicate there is a similar root language if Thalassian's mother language, Darnassian, did not simply evolve from spoken forms of Draconic in the first place.

Verb Forms

The tense of Thalassian verbs is altered by appending suffixes to the ends of words. This completely eliminates the use of certain words such as "is", "are", "was", "were", and likewise to use the tense of the verb. The noun, such as "I" or "We" is then attached to the end of the verb using an apostrophe to create a single-word sentence.
