Outland Day 20 (Night) - Outland Day 21

Arthak and Azgadaan had charged into Nyxxa and Levia’s quarters after hearing Nyxxa’s shriek upon her awakening.

Nyxxa says: ..Kil’jaeden reached out to me…

She is still panting, her blankets pulled around her. She’s shaking. Ini trots up after Azgadaan and bounces onto Nyxxa’s lap to comfort her.

Levia Blackflight says: Kil’jaeden? He’s the one that Caria works for, right?

Nyxxa nods.

Arthak Saurfang says: Also Gul’dan and Rakeesh’s…
Nyxxa says: He also… used my dreamspace… I thought that wasn’t possible…
Azgadaan says: Not just with the spell… he must have done something extra to twist it.

Nyxxa sighs.

Nyxxa says: Sorry to wake you.
Levia Blackflight says: No! No, it’s fine. It’s probably nearly time we woke up anyways.
Azgadaan says: Just glad you’re safe.
Nyxxa says: He… well, we… Rakeesh told me to expect this, I just didn’t expect it so soon, or directly… frankly, when he offered to intercede, I don’t think he expected that either… but…
Levia Blackflight says: What did he say?
Nyxxa says: He’s looking forward to how this turns out between me and Caria.
Levia Blackflight says: Oh.
Nyxxa says: He thinks what I did to Caria was deliberate and I’m some master assassin and… is impressed by that…

She is almost automatically stroking Ini.

Arthak Saurfang says: Makes sense.
Nyxxa says: He also said if I managed to hold onto the glaives, he can show me other things that they do.
Levia Blackflight says: That sounds like trouble if you ask me.

Nyxxa nods vigorously.

Nyxxa says: It was far more familiar than I expected an eredar of that rank to act. Way, way, way too familiar. He also did that thing where he implied he knew a lot more…
Azgadaan says: He also probably tore apart Caria’s mind.
Nyxxa says: I think that’s what he did. But… I think with this attention I’m going to need someone who is familiar with going behind this demon’s back…
Arthak Saurfang says: Oh Rakeesh.
Nyxxa says: Not right now… but I think when we leave Garadar, I want to get in touch with him. Tell him what happened…
Azgadaan says: Well, if he hasn’t changed position, I can probably send a message, and we can maybe contact him with a dream.
Nyxxa says: If you would… I know how you feel about him.
Azgadaan says: It’s fine. It makes sense. Honestly, I should have talked to him about this too. If you don’t mind, I’d like to tag along.

Nyxxa cocks her head.

Nyxxa says: You can do that?
Azgadaan says: With more powerful magics, yes.
Nyxxa says: That might be good then.

Nyxxa gets up from her bed.

Nyxxa says: I don’t think I’ll be able to sleep anymore. Thank you both for checking on me. I think I need time to process… at least on the plus side, it seemed when he picked apart her memories, Caria seems afraid of me. For whatever reason.
Arthak Saurfang says: It seems you’re the center of her world. Worship, fear, and hate. They all run alongside each other.

Nyxxa sighs deeply.

Levia Blackflight says: That sounds about right to me. She failed, her boss isn’t forgiving, and now you have the things she was supposed to hold onto. There’s probably a good chance she’s afraid of what may happen.
Nyxxa says: In truth, that’s why I never wanted to get involved with this. I tried to warn her, but it probably too late by that point. Maybe I can remind her of that the next time we fight her.
Levia Blackflight says: I don’t know if she’d listen.
Arthak Saurfang says: I recommend focusing on killing her.
Azgadaan says: She doesn’t seem very stable.
Nyxxa says: Yeah… I’m remiss to write off someone so quickly, but I think you’re correct. But thank you, all of you. But yeah, I’m going for a walk.

She almost walks out the door with Ini, but stops, and she holds the marsuul out to Azgadaan.

Azgadaan says: Oh, don’t worry. Ini, you won’t mind going, would you?

The marsuul shakes his head.

Nyxxa says: Mischief, you want to come too?

Mischief turns away angrily, clearly jealous, and puts her nose up.

Nyxxa says: I understand if you’re angry. I’ll give you treats later.
Levia Blackflight says: You know, she’s only doing this because she knows you’ll do that…
Nyxxa says: How can I say no to that face?

Arthak just looks at the cat and says no to demonstrate. The felcat glares at him.

Nyxxa leaves for her walk, and Vaerux chimes in.

Vaerux says [telepathically]: Well well well, you’re really in it now, aren’t you, Nyxxa?

Nyxxa sighs.

Nyxxa says [telepathically]: Yes. Shame you couldn’t be there. You would have enjoyed how much I flounder in front of one of the most powerful beings in the Legion.
Vaerux says [telepathically]: Probably for the best. I chafe with authority figures. I’ll leave that to you. Can’t say I envy you, but good luck.

He laughs.

Nyxxa says [telepathically]: Thanks… your word of encouragement means a lot.
Vaerux says [telepathically]: At least you have two people cheering you on now! Maybe me and the big guy can get some of those foam fingers or whatever they make.
Nyxxa says [telepathically]: We’ll have to make due. It seems Caria is dragging all sorts of trouble into my life. But before you say anything, she’s not to blame entirely, but I made my bed.
Vaerux says [telepathically]: Oh come on. Don’t tell me you’re taking some of this too? You can put blame on other people, Nyxxa, especially a crazy psycho bitch. Take the sword out of your back for five minutes, sheesh.
Nyxxa says [telepathically]: Fine.
Vaerux says [telepathically]: There. Was that so hard?
Nyxxa says [telepathically]: Look. Thank you for your encouragement. I mean that, genuinely.
Vaerux says [telepathically]: Did you have to say that? Ugh. Now I feel gross. Not like I can take a shower.
Nyxxa says [telepathically]: Given that response? Yeah.
Vaerux says [telepathically]: Ugh. Speaking of showers, consider one yourself, kid.

Nyxxa sniffs her arm, but the pair of them continue to bicker silently. Some of the orcs give her strange looks as she’s wandering around. She also informs Go’el of what happened upon seeing him, but then proceeds to start to try practicing new hobbies to attempt to de stress.

That includes fire dancing.

Outland Day 21 - Outland Day 33

Nyxxa largely relaxed and worked on fire dancing during their brief respite in Garadar, and Arthak worked with Levia to continue learning common. Halno had continued to work on his magic item and communicate with Sagaz. Time seems to be quite nebulous, but nothing significant had happened back on Azeroth. However, he had managed to find some more people for their growing cabal, and he also mentioned that he was approached by an orc that claimed he knew Halno.

Sagaz says [sending]: There was one thing. Yesterday. There was an orc that came. I didn’t know him, he wore a cowl that obscured his face, but he had burning eyes, and he spoke aggressively. He said that he made contact with some people and he wanted to speak with you. I told him you weren’t around. But he wanted to introduce me to these individuals, but I wasn’t sure it was a good idea without checking with you first.
Halno says [sending]: Did he give you a name?
Sagaz says [sending]: No. He said he knew you, and you worked together in the past.

Halno thinks back to people he had dealt with in the past, and one man comes to mind. One person was Ritssyn Flamescowl. His eyes fit Sagaz’s description, and he was aggressive, but it’s impossible to tell for sure.

Sagaz says [sending]: He made contact with somebody he wanted to introduce you too. I think it may have been a native of Azeroth. One of the smallteeth.
Halno says [sending]: Did he mention how to get ahold of him? Or where he may be?
Sagaz says [sending]: He said to light a fire and extinguish it when the moons are full on a specific part of the island. And he would come.
Halno says [sending]: Well, if it’s who I think it is, it’s strange behavior. But it’s an interesting proposition. Do you believe you should follow up on it? In our best interests?
Sagaz says [sending]: It seems too obvious for a trap. If he wanted to kill me, he could probably have just done so.
Halno says [sending]: If it is who I think it is, yes, and no one would have blinked. Besides, there’s no reason to trap us. We haven’t done anything.
Sagaz says [sending]: Not yet, anyway. I’ll meet him, and I’ll let you know. It’s a bit until the full moon.
Halno says [sending]: I’ll keep in touch. I’m sufficiently intrigued. Good job. Don’t forget your homework.

Sagaz grumbles over the sending.

Azgadaan had worked on seeking out some diamonds, and he also opted to try to break up Levia’s massive 5000gp diamond so it was more easily usable. He uses it to make a coin with the symbol of the Unbound on it.

He also asked Phaedra if she would be willing to continue teaching him draenic. She considers for a moment.

Phaedra says: I’ll ask around to see if anyone is interested. No promises.
Azgadaan says: I’m willing to pay a bit extra or do a service while I’m here.
Phaedra says: I’m sure you would. I’ll see if anyone has any free time.

Azgadaan doesn’t hear anything over the next few days, but about five days before they leave, Phaedra informs him that one of the hunters would be able to teach him some draenic. The hunter is a large krokul that Azgadaan had never met before, but he relents to tutoring Azgadaan.

Azgadaan offers to make Phaedra a piece of jewelry with fabricate.

Azgadaan says: What would you like?
Phaedra says: We’ll see what you can do. And maybe I’ll even wear it.

Azgadaan takes measurements of Phaedra’s hands, and makes some rings that will fit her since-fused fingers. Phaedra examines the result.

Phaedra says: Not bad. Color me impressed. Not too impressed, but impressed.
Azgadaan says: Glad you like them! And, again, I’m sorry for my insensitivity and ignorance. It was nice to spend time with you guys here, before we head out and maybe not survive more of this world.
Phaedra says: You may be a fool and an idiot and more inclined to get yourselves in trouble, but I don’t want you all to die. There would be people upset about that. But, I do have a question. When we last spoke before we had to track down the children. I asked you to think about why what you said could be considered hurtful. Have you thought about that?
Azgadaan says: I’ve… thought about it, but apparently I’m an idiot, and I couldn’t think of much. That and going after the children, and falling off a cliff…
Phaedra says: I’m sure you had the answer until it got knocked out of your head with the fall.
Azgadaan says: Maybe I can find it if I go back to the hole.
Phaedra says: Wisdom takes time, Azgadaan. Maybe next time you return, you’ll have an answer. But, I expect a few more pieces like this when you return for making me wait.
Azgadaan says: Seems good. Oh. By the way, do you want some of this honey?

However, at that moment, Azgadaan gets a sending from Aracyra.

Aracyra says [sending]: Azgadaan, do you have a moment? I overheard something that you might want to hear… if that’s okay?
Azgadaan says [sending]: Of course. Yes. Uh. I can send you a few times?

Phaedra notices what’s going on.

Phaedra says: Is everything alright?
Azgadaan says: Oh. It’s just my partner. Something came up.
Phaedra says: Well don’t let me keep you from your girlfriend.

She smirks and gives Azgadaan his privacy.

Aracyra says [sending]: You’re so thoughtful, but don’t worry, I prepared for this after I overheard. My mother has already set up her new base of operations. When I went to see her, I heard the tail end of a conversation. I believe it was with your father, Lord Jaraxxus. I don’t know what they were talking about, but I didn’t ask… I didn’t want her to know I was eavesdropping. But it seems he has taken more of an interest in Azeroth.
Azgadaan says [sending]: More of an interest in Azeroth?
Aracyra says [sending]: Yeah. I can’t say for sure. But things may get interesting. My mother may be trying to keep his influence away, but if she’s not successful, things may be dangerous. For the time being, please be careful. I don’t know what my mother has said, and I don’t know if he knows she’s been in contact with you.
Azgadaan says [sending]: Don’t put yourself in danger. I don’t want anything to happen to you. Do what you can, but don’t take risks. I love you, stay safe.
Aracyra says [sending]: I will! Don’t worry. I can promise you one thing though, there will be one person looking forward to your return!
Azgadaan says [sending]: Glad to hear it.

During the week, Azgadaan is also able to create a horn of blasting during the week.

Kroll also takes some time to invite Halno over and ask about what happened to him, exactly. Halno gives him the whole story, including manifesting Sylvos.

Kroll Gravenight says: This is… something else. How did you do this?
Halno says: Honestly? Like most great things, a complete and total accident.
Kroll Gravenight says: I guess so.
Sylvos Windrunner says: I am quite pleased you find my existence fascinating, stranger. I do as well. I find as much about how I came to exist in this manner as you do.

Kroll sits down to talk with Sylvos and learn a bit more about who he was.

Kroll Gravenight says: I definitely get the sense he wasn’t like this when he was alive?
Halno says: Unfortunately, I believe in the process of whatever I did, he became something of a knowledge construct which don’t have much emotional capacity.
Kroll Gravenight says: Have you considered trying to restore that somehow? If that’s something you want to do.
Halno says: It is something I’ve considered. Should it be possible, I would like to return him to his proper existence before our interference. But obviously if I just slap him into a body, he’ll be nothing more than a, well, construct.
Kroll Gravenight says: I understand. There are plenty of tales I’ve heard in the past of the spirit and the body and the mind becoming separated. I don’t know if this is the same, but I can’t imagine it would be a good result if you did.
Halno says: Yes, and unfortunately I’m not in a situation where I can continue experimenting. I’ve already destabilized things quite a bit.
Kroll Gravenight says: I suppose you’re right. That also begs the question. If you are currently wearing his skin, and this is his mind and not his emotions and spirit, where then is his spirit?

Halno leans back in his chair.

Halno says: That… is among the many questions I have about this. If I do not have the whole package, I cannot exactly return him. Which… I’m not even sure I could return him at this point. Even to just pass on.

Kroll looks at Sylvos.

Kroll Gravenight says: Do you have any ideas, friend?
Sylvos Windrunner says: Unfortunately, no, honored elder. I know as much as you. But I feel as if it would be advantageous if I were to continue to exist in some capacity, so I would prefer not taking too many risks. After all, existence is efficacious to continued learning.
Kroll Gravenight says: I suppose even disembodied heads can be afraid of dying.

Kroll laughs.

Kroll Gravenight says: You’ve given me a lot to meditate on. I’ll think on this. If I have any breakthroughs, I’ll let you know. You know where to find me, Halno, if I can be of assistance.
Halno says: Absolutely. I don’t suppose you know where I could find apexis crystals?
Kroll Gravenight says: No, I can’t say I do. But if there are any around, I wager they’ll be even harder to find now. Perhaps in the deepest parts of this world, for those that haven’t been completely decimated. The only people that would be interested would be those interested in knowledge. The ogres always found them fascinating given their entire empire was built on them, and whatever was left of the arakkoa… I don’t know if you search for their settlements, as rare as they are, but beyond that, I suppose, well…

Kroll looks around.

Kroll Gravenight says: If there is anyone else I can think of, it would probably be Gul’dan.
Halno says: Yeahhhh…. We’ll just… take that one off the table.
Kroll Gravenight says: So I wager you’re not a big fan of this Shadow Council?

There is a keenness in Kroll’s eyes. Halno almost responds automatically before catching himself, and is then silent for a moment.

Halno says: Where did you hear that name?

There is a twinge of venom in Halno’s voice, and Kroll grins, sipping on some tea.

Kroll Gravenight says: You don’t have to worry about anyone overhearing. One of the gifts that Leafshadow has given us is a fair bit of discretion, at least. I’ve been around, and you could say a little bird told me.
Halno says: Another word of advice. Magic is not the only means they possess.
Kroll Gravenight says: Of that I’m sure! If I’m not mistaken, they’re probably behind the invention of that thing you carry around, and they are probably why you are like you are now, aren’t you?

Halno grins, and Kroll nods.

Halno says: I’m partially responsible for this myself.
Kroll Gravenight says: You always have been one to not ask ‘should I’ before you ask ‘can I’. At least, as you were when we were younger.
Halno says: Just be careful saying that out loud, Kroll.
Kroll Gravenight says: I know, don’t worry. I just wanted to gauge what you knew, and heard. Because, well, maybe you don’t need to cross the Gul’dan business off. After all, if I were him or his lackeys, I’d ben trying to find whatever shreds of power I could. If you find where his lackeys are sniffing around, maybe you’ll find something. Failing that, anyone else you can think of that may be interested in such wisdom from the ancients? I may be old, but I can still hear, and I know what you all have your sights on. Something big. Something a little scaly, perhaps.

Halno starts to rub his face.

Halno says: Should I assume you know everything?
Kroll Gravenight says: Oh no no.
Halno says: Let me rephrase, they told you everything?
Kroll Gravenight says: Nah. These big ears are for more than just framing my face. I don’t know much about Sinestra, but I know she’s smart, and smart people flock to the same things. Just a thought.
Halno says: Yes. I suppose so. But, if we’re on the topic of thing we shouldn’t be on the topic of. As a shaman, what’s your perspective on souls?
Kroll Gravenight says: Souls?
Halno says: Specifically binding them.

Kroll’s brow furrows.

Kroll Gravenight says: You’d want to have a good reason. After all, when we die, our spirits go to watch over us. Our enemies would probably do the same, but not if you’re binding them and preventing them from doing so. The warlocks like to do as much with their magic.
Halno says: Yeah. That’s accurate. It seems I bit off more than I could chew with this project. So now I need to complete a task without completing a task.
Kroll Gravenight says: I think you’re doing that thing where you’re talking really smart. What task?>
Halno says: I agreed to fix these stupid fucking scepters. But I can’t do that without, well.

He waves his fingertips.

Halno says: Them.

Kroll nods.

Kroll Gravenight says: Let me tell you a story I heard. Of a hunter. Young and brash. He loved to brag and boast about his powers and claimed he could hunt anything. The bigger the better! He lived far to the north in the Frostfire Ridges before it turned into a desert of demons and bad memories. One day, one day he bragged that he could singlehanded take down Gruul himself. No one believed him. But, he was a cunning one. So. He left. He went to scout out the canyons that the king of the gronn made home, and he saw the beast. Now he claimed he was going to do it alone, but he found other hunters and convinced them to go with him. He came up with a brilliant scheme, which of course failed miserably. He was the only survivor. This repeated a few times, and each time he was the only survivor. He thought he couldn’t go back empty handed. I promised to bring them the head of the king of the gronn. So you know what he did, Halno?

Halno indicates for him to go on.

Kroll Gravenight says: He never went back to his clan!

Kroll smiles.

Halno says: ...I see.

Kroll continues sipping at his tea with a shitty grin.

Kroll does opt to fill Halno in on everything he had gone through as well, and after some time, Halno leaves his hut to continue on his various projects.

At some point, Nyxxa bursts into wherever Halno is staying.

Nyxxa says: Halno! There’s something I forgot to tell you! You like those arakkoa people, right? Or you’re interested in them?

Halno gives Nyxxa a blank stare.

Nyxxa says: Look. So. Remember that one thing we did with that tomb of one of them?
Halno says: Yes, it was only a few weeks ago.
Nyxxa says: Yeah, so, I had a dream that night. Which is weird, because satyrs aren’t supposed to dream. I had a dream I was that guy, and I kept getting killed by Blackhand over and over again. Normally, I wouldn’t think it’s a big deal, but I’m not supposed to dream. I don’t unless a spell helps me. Do the arakkoa have weird dream magic?
Halno says: I… don’t look like an arakkoa and I’m far from an expert, but I guess I’m what we have.
Nyxxa says: Yeah. I was just wondering if that was normal, because the more I thought about it, it wasn’t really… but there hasn’t been a problem since.
Halno says: The more likely scenario… we were in that tomb with some pretty dark magic. You had a dream where you were Kris'kar the Unredeemed getting killed by Blackhand?
Nyxxa says: A younger Blackhand! It was different every time, but it always ended the same.
Halno says: If I had to venture a guess, you just got cursed for being somewhere the living weren’t supposed to be. His failure, or something of that sort. He was the closest thing we saw to a vengeful spirit in a long time.
Nyxxa says: Aside from the ones that killed me… those were vengeful spirits too, right?
Halno says: Yeah. Like that. Although I assume you didn’t get cursed this time?
Nyxxa says: No, just died. Levia brought me back. But… hmm…. I’m starting to have… hmm…
Halno says: I don’t know what to tell you here, Nyxxa. I would love to hear how he fought, but it sounds like you were mostly dying.
Nyxxa says: He put up a good fight! Blackhand was just better. It was kind of sad, really. This world has a lot of baggage.
Halno says: There’s baggage everywhere.
Nyxxa says: Well, sorry to bug you.
Halno says: My best bet is you got bogged down by his regrets.
Nyxxa says: Poor guy.
Halno says: He’s doing better now.

He waves her off.

Nyxxa says: That’s good. Bye Halno!
Halno says: Enjoy the rest of your day or night or whatever. Let me know when it’s time to go.
Nyxxa says: If you need anything, let me know so you don’t have to leave!
Halno says: I’m alright, thank you Nyxxa.

Halno stares at her, waiting for her to leave. Nyxxa turns on her hoof and heads out.

During the course of the week, Nyxxa also gets a check up from Khadgar.

Khadgar says [sending]: Salutations, Nyxxa! I hope everything is going well, and the road is not as perilous as it has been.

Nyxxa sighs.

Nyxxa says [sending]: I wish I could tell you that was the case… but… it is not. I am… okay, but it’s a long story, and I think I’d like to ask for your advice if that’s okay.
Khadgar says [sending]: Of course, Nyxxa. My door is always open! Proverbially speaking. It’s not like you can walk through my door, and it is actually closed right now, but I hope you understand the gesture.

Nyxxa laughs.

Nyxxa says [sending]: I understand. But, first, it’s going to be a long story. So cut me off if you need to go. How familiar are you with… the two most powerful eredar in the Burning Legion?
Khadgar says [sending]: I know their names, their titles, and their legacies, but mostly through stories.
Nyxxa says [sending]: That is enough context, then. Um… I was contacted personally by Kil’jaeden in a dream.
Khadgar says [sending]: Oh.
Nyxxa says [sending]: Yeah… not only that, he used my dream. I was told that wasn’t something that was easy to do, so I assume that was meant to, well, make an impression. But I found myself in a situation that may take a bit of explaining, and this will get into some information that I was going to probably tell you at some point anyway, but…

Nyxxa summarizes the situation with Caria, the deal with Rakeesh, the warglaives, and all that.

Khadgar says [sending]: So. Allow me to get this straight. You and Caria were once allies in the same organization as Loramus and the rest. However, you went undercover, faked your death, and faked traitorship, and Caria followed you. Then she earned the favor of Kil’jaeden, you stole her blades, and now she has a vendetta. My, that sounds like a fantastic story for a novel, especially now that you have the attention of Kil’jaeden, but also this Rakeesh fellow, who has no qualms with collaborating against his colleague.
Nyxxa says [sending]: That’s the sort of it, yeah.
Khadgar says [sending]: Well, the Kirin Tor has its politics and rivalries, but I think you’re in a bit deeper.
Nyxxa says [sending]: This is par the course for Legion politics. It’s why I never got involved. But I guess, at this point, my best option is taking Rakeesh up on his offer. Given what we’ve talked about in the past, I was concerned that was something you may take issue with.
Khadgar says [sending]: Nyxxa, I can’t hope to understand what you’re going to have to do to ensure your survival, but I won’t judge you for speaking when demons when you are a demon. Besides, if speaking with a demon is enough cause to end a friendship, I may be in trouble myself! This Rakeesh seems dangerous, but war makes for strange bedfellows. Do what you have to, but approach this with caution. I’m sure he has plenty to gain from this.
Nyxxa says [sending]: I don’t doubt that’s the case. Though, speaking of that, in our last meeting I realized that I… I guess, I’ve become a sort of unofficial spy for you, and I recently realized that it’s… being friends with someone that you’re helping can be difficult sometimes, so I was wondering if… I just wanted to ask what you were expecting from this arrangement?

There’s a moment of silence.

Khadgar says [sending]: Nyxxa, I will say, if this is becoming too difficult, I do not need to continue this. While I knew the two of us had come to an understanding, and I thought the exchange of information could be beneficial, but our friendship is independent of that. If you wanted to not speak until it’s safe, I respect that. You’ve done a great deal, and I’m sure you will do much more. But I don’t expect anything from you, Nyxxa.
Nyxxa says [sending]: That’s… good then, I guess. I guess that was a poor way of wording it. I want to help you, even if it’s a risk to me. I think I’ve just had a bit of a crisis, given everything, and I was reminded… it’s been a tough few days, and I just had a crisis of confidence.
Khadgar says [sending]: Well. Is it anything I could help with? I’m not exactly next door right now, and even at this outpost there are not as many amenities as Honor Hold quite yet. But if there’s something I can do to help, I’d wish to do so.
Nyxxa says [sending]: Oh, no, I find it fine just to talk. I guess in light of everything that’s happened, and how deep I am… I kind of died a few days ago… and it’s kind of… it feels silly, but I feel like being reminded about how easy it is to die, it just makes everything else hit harder, if that makes sense?

There is a solid moment of silence.

Khadgar says [sending]: I… believe I understand, Nyxxa. I’ve had discussions about this at length. Mortality is scary, especially for me who is friend of enough elves that I need to borrow someone’s hand to keep track of all of them. I’m a human, I don’t live a fraction of the length they do. I’ve had many teachers, people who can show me the way the world works, to know the curtain and what lies beyond, and there’s always more. But one of my teachers. He was… let me think of the best way to say it. He has an exceptional natural gift for precognition. In fact his knowledge of future events, and his impeccable memory, are so good that he knows the exact moment he is to die. Final, complete, oblivion. The silence of the grave. For a long time, I always wondered how someone could manage knowing such an event, and being unable to change it, or run away from it. But what he told me, and I remember this keenly, was there was no true difference between knowing when one’s demise approaches, or to live in the absence of that knowledge. Everyone still has a finite amount of time on the world with which to make their mark, and that is what truly defines us. Not the moment of our death, nor the moment of our birth, but what happens between. Now I don’t know how that may help someone who has lived and died over a dozen times, but you don’t need to have all the answers, Nyxxa. You don’t need to be perfect, nor handle all these things you’ve done. If our relationship needs to be just two people speaking, if spying or relaying information is too stressful, don’t do it. You only need to do what you need to do, then there will only be what you’ve done. That’s the truest thing that any of us could really experience. So. Try not to worry. I guess.
Nyxxa says [sending]: That was… beautiful, actually. Thank you.
Khadgar says [sending]: I have been a teacher for the better part of my life, and I’ve listened to the Guardian give enough speeches that my ears have almost fallen off, so I can at least pretend to be inspiring.
Nyxxa says [sending]: There might have to come a time where I sort everything out, and I need to reprioritize things, but I don’t want helping you to be one of the things I put aside. You’ve been kind, and helpful, and I appreciate it a lot. We did find some good news though!
Khadgar says [sending]: Is that so?
Nyxxa says [sending]: Through some divining, it seems the satyr’s curse can be cured. We don’t know how, but it’s something. It’s hope!
Khadgar says [sending]: That’s stupendous. Hold on to that hope, Nyxxa. I say you earned it, thus far.
Nyxxa says [sending]: Thank you! But I’ve already talked your ear off, and you have other things to do!
Khadgar says [sending]: Yes, like sleep! I’m not a young man anymore. But I’m glad. And Nyxxa, if I ever need to erase your name from this tome, I will do so. For the meantime, I’m glad you’re here.
Nyxxa says [sending]: Just like I don’t need to overtax myself for you, you don’t need to overtax yourself for me. Get some rest, please!

There is no further response.

Nyxxa asks Azgadaan if he can send her to speak to Kaylaan in a dream, and he agrees he can do that for her. She is also amazed by the coin that Azgadaan had made, and she gives him a big hug.

When she dreams Kaylaan, she removed the fountain from her dreamscape, and there are a lot of statues and overgrown fallen pillars in its place.

Kaylaan says: You know, you are far from what I imagined when I first heard the phrase ‘girl of my dreams’, but we keep meeting like this.
Nyxxa says: Seems I owe you a drink! But sorry, this is the only way I have to contact you.

Kaylaan leans against one of the pillars.

Kaylaan says: What do you have for me?
Nyxxa says: Business today.
Kaylaan says: Arthak hasn’t gotten you in more trouble?
Nyxxa says: Arthak isn’t the only one I work for. But, I’ll have you know, it is my job to lie to Arthak. Part of the job description he gave me.
Kaylaan says: Good. So whoa re these other people?
Nyxxa says: I heard the Ashtongue are making a target out of Hellfire Citadel.
Kaylaan says: And if we are?
Nyxxa says: There are some neighbors that may be interested in lending their aid.
Kaylaan says: The pink skins.
Nyxxa says: Humans and elves. They are people from my world.
Kaylaan says: We’ve seen them around. We were curious.
Nyxxa says: They’ve been trying to think of the best way to reach out to you, but I think your goals align. They are from my world, Azeroth. But if you do reach out to them, I would appreciate not being named. I am only in contact with one of them. But, as I said, I want the Ashtongue to succeed one way or another, and war makes for strange bedfellows.
Kaylaan says: So what do you get out of this? I can’t imagine you are presenting this freely.
Nyxxa says: I have a multitude of reasons. For one, a dead Mannoroth. Or the other one, whose name I don't remember. Two, I’m a soldier. My duty is the excision of the Legion from this world and all others. Third, I’ve found myself in a position where Rakeesh may twist my arm, so if I can get that benefit as well…

She sighs.

Nyxxa says: Not saying it’s my top priority, but I figured I’d be honest.
Kaylaan says: So. You help me get into contact with this employer of this, you help Rakeesh on this suicide mission, and we all benefit.
Nyxxa says: Anything to make it less of a suicide mission.
Kaylaan says: Fair enough. You have my intrigue. I’ll bite. I’ll reach out to them. Who should I try to reach out to?
Nyxxa says: His name is Khadgar. He’s a mage.
Kaylaan says: A mage named Khadgar. Very well. I will make do with what we have. We’ll see what these humans and elves are capable of.
Nyxxa says: I will say, Azeroth is the one world that was able to beat back the Legion before in a full scale invasion. As far as I’m aware.
Kaylaan says: Well, isn’t that something. Perhaps I’ll prepare a trophy or a medal, but the Legion is here and they won’t give up.
Nyxxa says: Exactly! After all the trouble they put us through, I don’t expect them to pull their punches. Also, Azgadaan did mention that he could get all three of us in a dream… if that would be easier.
Kaylaan says: AS convenient as that would be, I may rely on the old fashioned way.
Nyxxa says: Fair. Additionally, one of my own has been trying to reach out to the Ashtongue as well. He’s not a demon, but he’s…
Kaylaan says: He’s like you?

Nyxxa nods.

Nyxxa says: I trust his ability to find you. He’s been doing this longer than I have. I’d ask if you do see him, don’t kill him on sight.
Kaylaan says: Well, if he ends up near the pumps, I’ll endeavor to ensure that doesn’t happen.
Nyxxa says: My thanks. Good luck!
Kaylaan says: And you, Nyxxa. I look forward to seeing what you’re about, but I have a feeling we’ll have more opportunities to speak, whether I like it or not.
Nyxxa says: I do owe you a drink.
Kaylaan says: Lets make that two.
Nyxxa says: How about every time I reach out to you it’s another drink?

Kaylaan smirks.

Kaylaan says: Alright, but recent events have made counting above five difficult. Don’t get too high.
Nyxxa says: I’ll keep track.
Kaylaan says: Alright. Then until next time, and next drink, Nyxxa.

Kaylaan waves her off, and walks into the edges of the ruins as Nyxxa allows the dream to fade.

At some point, as he was working in the midst of his project, Dornaa walks by Azgadaan as he is trying to speak to himself in draenic.

Dornaa says: Hey Azgadaan! Not bad, but your accent is pretty goofy!

Azgadaan smiles and says “thank you” in a goofier accent. Dornaa laughs.

Dornaa says: Do you mind if I sit down? I’ve been working hard all morning.

Azgadaan nods and she plops down next to him.

Dornaa says: How long have you been learning to speak draenic?
Azgadaan says: I started over half a year ago, but my teacher stole one of Arthak’s ships and sailed off. I had to postpone the rest of learning. I got a few days in. I think I have one or two days left with the teacher Phaedra found.
Dornaa says: Who was it? Was it Samaara? She probably would steal a boat.
Azgadaan says: She did. There were three. One blew up, and she stole one.
Dornaa says: He’s really bad at holding onto boats!
Azgadaan says: He is.
Dornaa says: I did have a question. When we were saving Durak when he was stupid and ran off, I noticed you used magic like Remnii.
Azgadaan says: That is because something strange is going on. Yeah, I can do that. I don’t want that spreading. It seems to… from what I can tell, it upset Phaedra that I could do that.
Dornaa says: That is pretty strange. She used to be a priest, but when she changed, and the Red Mist hit, she couldn’t do it anymore. But you can! It’s very strange. I wonder why that is. It must be for a reason.
Azgadaan says: I hope so. Casting these spells is handy, but I can’t do it in front of any enemies that can get away with that information. It might be really bad.
Dornaa says: Yeah, you’d get real big trouble!
Azgadaan says: Yeah, that’s why I’m trying to keep it a secret.
Dornaa says: I don’t know much about the Light. I only know what the others have said. I can sort of feel it, but not a lot. I think that’s why I was curious. It made my nose sort of itch when I saw you do it. But I think you’re safe. No one here knows about the Light. They may just think it’s some sort of crazy demon magic!

Azgadaan quickly casts crusader’s mantle and then drops concentration.

Azgadaan says: Does that feel funny? Like before?
Dornaa says: Just a little bit, yeah! I think it’s because our people have a connection to the Light. That’s what Remnii said! She said Dornaa, the Light is always a part of you no matter what happens!

She does her best Remnii impression.

Azgadaan says: That does sound like her.
Dornaa says: Sometimes I’m not sure what that means, but when I don’t know what to do, I just think about what Remnii would do.
Azgadaan says: I do that sometimes too. Not often enough. I’m more apt to ask what Samaara would do. But Remnii is a good person to go by. She’s a lot kinder than myself.
Dornaa says: I guess when I encouraged everyone to steal gliders and chase down Durak, that wasn’t what Remnii would have done.
Azgadaan says: Perhaps. Maybe a less mature Remnii would have, but she probably would have asked for help.
Dornaa says: Probably! But oh well, I’m grounded. Thank you for chatting. I know you have to leave soon, but I’m glad you got to be here!
Azgadaan says: Ah, yes. It was good to see you. But I do have some gifts for you and your friends!

He pulls out a bunch of toys and games for her to pick from.

Dornaa says: Are you sure we could have these?
Azgadaan says: Be my guest! They are to be played with. I knew there were kids here. So I bought a bunch of stuff. So it’s yours now.

Dornaa throws her arms around Azgadaan.

Dornaa says: Thank you! That’s so nice!
Azgadaan says: I’m glad you like it.
Dornaa says: I do! And Remnii’s right! The Light has a reason, and I think you can touch it for a very good reason! I just don’t know what that reason is!

She boops Azgadaan on the nose, and she grabs her things and waves at him.

Dornaa says: So you around!
Azgadaan says: See ya! Have fun! Hopefully you aren’t grounded for too long!

Dornaa laughs.

Outland Day 34

The group prepares to leave Garadar in the morning.

Rexxar says: Are we ready to go? It will take some time to cross over Zangarmarsh and make our way into the mountains.
Go'el says: I may have a way around that. With this group, we might be able to use the same magics that spirited us to the plateau. We should make it across the marshes in a day.
Rexxar says: Well, good. That’ll help. We need to make sure we don’t get lost. The magics you used didn’t look good for communicating. We’ll need to stick together. There are beasts that will take notice if we aren’t careful.
Azgadaan says: Veena has a spell that can allow us to communicate mentally…
Veena says: Veena!
Azuka Stormbreaker says: It only lasts for about an hour, but it will help at least.
Nyxxa says: As long as we stick together, it shouldn’t be much problem.
Rexxar says: Alright. I suppose we can do this magic or whatever.
Go'el says: Yes, I can handle it whenever we’re prepared.
Nyxxa says: I guess we just need to say some goodbyes for the time being.

Go’el nods. Many people had gathered to see the group off,

Go'el says: Good people of Garadar, thank you for sharing your hospitality, and being open to me. I promise I will return in time, and when I do it will be on good winds. Take care of each other while I’m gone.

Kroll laughs.

Kroll Gravenight says: Don’t worry, Go’el. We’ll be fine. We’ve stayed safe here for generations, and we will do everything we can to continue that.

Go’el nods.

Kroll Gravenight says: Your children are in good hands.
Go'el says: Thank you, elder. We could have not asked for a better person to help lead the village.
Kroll Gravenight says: You’re giving me too much credit.

Go’el and Kroll clasp hands, and Go’el continues going around bidding farewell to the others that had accompanied him.

One of the windriders asks if he’s sure he doesn’t want them to come with him, and Go’el reassures him that they will be needed on Azeroth. Sadras bids farewell to her mother and father. Lokra gives Summerpaw a good scritch under the chin. Nyxxa waves at them, and Lokra nods at her. Karg waves at Nyxxa in turn.

Go’el pulls his two children in for a hug. Durak looks a bit angsty because it’s embarrassing, but he does hug him.

Durak says: Remember your promise, father.
Go'el says: I will, Durak. I won’t forget. Take care of things while I’m gone. No more stunts.
Durak says: I won’t do anything you wouldn’t.

Go’el squeezes Durak’s shoulder and tussles up Geya’rah’s hair before giving her a kiss on the forehead.

Nyxxa gives Kroll a big hug and picks him up off the ground when she does.

Nyxxa says: I’ll miss you, buddy. Good to catch up.
Kroll Gravenight says: I look forward to seeing you again! Hopefully I’m not dead by then. But I do have a habit of miraculously recovering!

He winks at Nyxxa as she sets him down.

Kroll Gravenight says: Watch yourself out there, kiddo.

He bumps her lightly on the head with his staff.

Nyxxa says: Hey, I’m a lot times older than you.
Kroll Gravenight says: I’ll believe it when I see it.

Nyxxa gives him an incredulous look, and Kroll just laughs.

Nyxxa says: The insolence of the youth these days!

Azuka thanks everyone for their hospitality and approaches Durak.

Azuka Stormbreaker says: Don’t cause anymore trouble. They do a lot for you.
Durak says: You think I don’t know that?
Azuka Stormbreaker says: You didn’t act like it.

Durak rolls his eyes.

Durak says: Whatever.
Azuka Stormbreaker says: Bye.

Azuka turns around and leaves him. Dornaa and Geya’rah swoop in to give her a big hug, and she freezes up as they double team her.

Dornaa says: Be safe, Azuka! Hopefully I’ll see you soon! Hopefully I won’t be grounded by then.
Geya'rah says: I wouldn’t get hopes too high… but be safe, Azuka! Look after Arthak! And Sadras! And Nyxxa! And…
Go'el says: I think she understands, Geya’rah.

He laughs.

Geya’rah pulls out a wooden carving of a flower and hands it to Azuka.

Geya'rah says: This is for you. Dornaa and I made it.
Dornaa says: It will protect you on the road.
Geya'rah says: It should!
Azuka Stormbreaker says: Thanks. I’ll keep it safe. And everyone else too.

The two give her one last hug, and Azuka heads off to rejoin the group.

Rexxar approaches Kroll.

Rexxar says: My beasts were able to bring back some large catches for all of you.
Kroll Gravenight says: Oh!
Rexxar says: We left it with your hunters.
Kroll Gravenight says: Well, thank you!

Rexxar grunts in affirmation.

Phaedra, Thelamis, and Kaviir also bid their goodbyes. Azgadaan gives them some of the luxury items he had bought, including some wine. The group finishes gathering up, and Go’el is notably wearing the armor that Arthak had been working on throughout the respite.

Go'el says: Gather around, everyone. Once we make headway…

He gives a few basic signs that may indicate if the group needs to stop for any reason, and he casts the wind walk spell. Wind wraps around them like a cocoon, and their bodies grow lighter, and they start to be transfigured into the form of clouds that look vaguely wolf-like.

They glimpse some of the younger orcs playing with some games, including one of the bladder-like balls that Azgadaan had given to Dornaa to share with the kids. A smile comes to Azgadaan’s face as he sees them.

Arthak catches Sadras looking at him, and she abruptly averts her gaze as she notices that Arthak had seen her before she disappears into her cloud form.

The group takes off into the air and starts to fly up and over Garadar. Occasionally light rain drizzles from the periodic clouds above, but the water passes right through them. The temperature is quite warm, and as they enter the afternoon, they soar over the elemental plateau and out of Nagrand. The plateau seems to have drastically calmed, with the elementals largely keeping to their own areas.

Down below, the ground changes into the expanses of mushrooms of the Zangarmarsh. The mushrooms make it hard to see much other than the open lagoons. The air is much thicker over the Zangarmarsh.

Beyond some of the ruins they can see, there is one notable mushroom that towers over the others. The group can see ruins nested around the mushroom. They seem to be broken down and in disrepair. Nyxxa had never navigated as a cloud before, but it’s really fun. She can see something in the marsh, and she sees distant shapes of buildings and boats.

The land starts to unfold ahead of them, and they can see what remains of Gorgrond. The mountain ranges seem to have collapsed in on themselves and ground together. They almost look like a rib cage with jutting rocks and spires of stone.

Rexxar starts to head down and scope out a safe space for the group to rest for the evening. They find a seemingly sheltered space along a lake bed near the edge of the forest of mushrooms, and they make camp for the evening.

Rexxar says: We should be able to pass the Blade’s Edge Mountains into Gorgrond tomorrow. If I’m not mistaken, you wish to find these dragons along the way, correct?

Nyxxa nods.

Rexxar says: This here…

He gestures to the map Nyxxa had.

Rexxar says: Looks like Evermorn Springs. It’s been overrun with crystals. I gave it a wide berth. Creatures had started to move closer. If these dragons are there, I would not be surprised. We should be able to reach there tomorrow. Prepare accordingly.
Arthak Saurfang says: Noted.

Go’el moves about the perimeter and sets up some spiritual guardians for the camp.

Azgadaan shoots a sending in the direction of the Dead Mire, where Rakeesh had been last seen.

Azgadaan says [sending]: Hello, if you’re there. Me and Nyxxa have some questions for you, if you’re there. I’d like to dream you.
Rakeesh says [sending]: Ah. Azgadaan. Not the person I would have expected to hear from, but a pleasure all the same. I think I can make some adjustments to my schedule.

During the the second watch, Halno hears a strange squeaking sound, and the fluttering of wings overhead. However, it’s outside the range of his vision.

Halno says: What do you think it is?
Rexxar says: Sounds like sporebats. But I don’t hear anything else. We should stay alert. It’s possible something startled them.
Halno says: Alright then.

The rest of the watch goes through without any other event.

On Arthak and Go’el’s watch, they also sees nothing of note.

Meanwhile, Azgadaan and Nyxxa materialize in the dreamscape, and Nyxxa had did her best to recreate the cockpit that Nyxxa had spoken to Rakeesh in before. However, Rakeesh had not yet arrived.

Azgadaan says: Oh. Interesting place you dreamt up.
Nyxxa says: We met here last time. I thought it would be the best place… I couldn’t think of anything else neutral.
Azgadaan says: Fair enough.

At that moment, they sense Rakeesh’s presence connect, and he steps through the door. He is wearing casual finery as he looks around.

Rakeesh says: Awww. Now, wasn’t that a nice touch? You made things so nice and comfortable, you shouldn’t have.
Nyxxa says: I couldn’t think of anything, and given we’re meeting again… thank you for meeting with us.
Rakeesh says: Of course, of course. I’m a busy man, but I can spare some time to talk to two of my friends. So!

He sits down and claps his hands together.

Rakeesh says: What can I help you with?
Nyxxa says: I recall we spoke last time… but things moved forward faster than you and I expected. I was contacted personally by Kil’jaeden.

Rakeesh’s brow raises.

Rakeesh says: Is that so? My. Seems you are more popular than I anticipated. That, or Kil’jaeden is exceptionally bored.
Nyxxa says: Given the glowing review from Caria, it got his attention.
Rakeesh says: I had a feeling that Caria would probably find you. How did that go?
Nyxxa says: As well as one might expect. She was angry and demanded I give her the glaives, but not before making a point to threaten us with a falling mushroom.

Rakeesh rolls his eyes.

Rakeesh says: So dramatic.

Nyxxa sighs.

Nyxxa says: Needless to say, I imagine you would understand why I sought to contact you. I don’t know how to handle this sort of tension.
Rakeesh says: So you need my help.
Nyxxa says: I do.
Rakeesh says: Well. That’s one way to have a point proven for you. I suppose I should thank Kil’jaeden for that. You know that I’d be willing to help you, and I can give you some advice in the meantime.
Nyxxa says: I would be appreciative.
Rakeesh says: Something you should remember, is Kil’jaeden is powerful and smart, and you should assume he knows everything. But he doesn’t know everything. He isn’t a god. As long as you’re here, he may reach out again, but once you return to Azeroth, you’ll be beyond his scope. He could reach out to in other means, but they are limited unless he goes to the material plane. There are ways to shield one’s mind. There are magics that can prevent it, or for a more personal solution, there are items that can prevent others from entering your mind. These work on Kil’jaeden as well. If he is contacting you through dreams and visions, you need to dream--or sleep at least. If you protect yourself during such a state, one will be unable to a access your mind. So those are a few ways you can make contact difficult. But he won’t be popping into your dreams every evening.
Nyxxa says: I understand he won’t do this unless I do something to prompt it, but given your knowledge, would you recommend pursuing that?
Rakeesh says: Working with lord Kil’jaeden?
Nyxxa says: No, protecting thoughts around him.

Rakeesh smiles.

Rakeesh says: That will only take you so far, of course. Kil’jaeden doesn’t nee to read someone’s thoughts to understand them. But it certainly helps. But you are in a very interesting situation. Should you fulfill your end of this bargain, I can make sure this event between you and Caria ends in your favor. And then you’ll have an opportunity, if you want to take it. It isn’t easy to gain the favor of Kil’jaeden. Something to consider.
Nyxxa says: I have a lot of time to think about that.
Rakeesh says: Most certainly. But I should thank you. The more projects Kil’jaeden takes, the less time he has to focus on the others he currently has his fingers in. Even I enjoy my privacy sometimes.
Nyxxa says: I understand.

Nyxxa looks over at Azgadaan to see if there is anything he wants to add.

Azgadaan says: I have a question.
Rakeesh says: Of course. Anything.
Azgadaan says: What did you want me to do when you gave me the link to Kil’jaeden?
Rakeesh says: That is up to you, Azgadaan. If he contacted you, Nyxxa, I imagine he gave you the same.

Nyxxa nods.

Rakeesh says: Did you feel it? The tug towards his presence?

Nyxxa hadn’t paid much attention to it, but when Nyxxa was heading to make the connection with Rakeesh, there was a faint connection she felt--one that she could probably follow through on. As could Azgadaan.

Nyxxa says: Now that you mention it...
Rakeesh says: My lord is a man with a great deal of power and influence and connections. Connections someone like you could use. You know that is what this is all about. Making and using connections so you don’t see final absolute oblivion. That’s what everyone is trying to do, at the end of the day. That’s why you’re here now, speaking with me, and why I’m speaking with you.
Nyxxa says: Surviving.
Rakeesh says: Surviving is the first step, Nyxxa. Thriving is the second. That’s why I’m not floundering under the gaze of the Legion. Unlike a certain other eredar you’ve spoken to.

Nyxxa looks back to Azgadaan to see if there’s anything else he wants to ask, and Azgadaan shrugs.

Nyxxa says: What you need us is just to ensure the Ashtongue’s plan is a success.
Rakeesh says: Precisely. Things are already in motion, of course. When the time comes, I trust you’ll make the right decision. I’ll of course be here to aid where I can, though I sadly won’t be able to help you if you take up arms against the rather exceptional challenges ahead. I will, of course, lend my assistance how I can… including keeping the spread of information as quiet as I can.
Nyxxa says: So if we dirty our hands with this, it won’t spread.
Rakeesh says: It wouldn’t do if you help me only for the powers that be to find out your involvement. Your usefulness to me would plummet, not to mention I would hate to see that happen to my dear friends.
Nyxxa says: Of course. I do enjoy being useful.
Rakeesh says: I’m sure you do. If there’s one thing I’ve learned about you elves, is you do love being useful.
Nyxxa says: This is the first time I’ve been called an elf in a long time, but thank you. That said, I suppose I should get something to prevent people from checking in on me.
Rakeesh says: Do so for you. Even if you were to die and your memories plucked apart, my position will be in no danger.
Nyxxa says: I don’t doubt you’ve talked your way out of worse.

Rakeesh smiles.

Rakeesh says: And of course I’d call you an elf, Nyxxa. That is what you are, isn’t it?
Nyxxa says: In a manner of speaking. I’m not sure if there’s anything else to speak of.
Rakeesh says: Not for the time being on my end. When the time nears, and all you are in concert, I’ll reach out when the time is right, and you’ll have what you need to ensure this mission is successful. I’m a man of my word. For as little as that means.

Nyxxa smirks.

Nyxxa says: I’ll have to be counting on you then, as you us.
Rakeesh says: I look forward to our continued partnership, and your continued success.

Nyxxa bows.

Nyxxa says: We’ll get out of your head.
Azgadaan says: Technically, we’re in yours.

Nyxxa blinks.

Nyxxa says: ...Yeah. That.

The dream disperses.

Outland Day 35

The next morning, the sky is clear. Nothing seems to be amiss. Nyxxa touches base with Azgadaan to make sure he’s doing okay, and Azgadaan assures he is, he just wanted to listen.

Go’el once more uses wind walk, and they take to the sky once again. They pass over the blade-like mountains and collapsed ridges. They hit a dry warm front coming in from the blasted lands beyond the peaks.

One of the mountains seems to be covered in a dirty-green moss, which continues down into a small valley that has ancient petrified trees growing from the earth. It may have once been a verdant location, but it’s now far from it.

They continue on, and they pass into another valley that is vaguely familiar to Arthak. It was part of the Gorgrond Pass, but it’s now different--altered from the shattering of the earth. They continue over the hills and mountains, and at the height of some of the peaks they can see brilliant, bright, crystalline shards. However, they seem more stable than the red crystals they had seen before.

Down below is the expanse of the Evermorn Springs. Steam is rising from them.

Then they hear the sound of heavy wingbeats, and they see something emerge from the claw-like mountains. It appears to be a large creature--not quite as large of the great dragon over Silvermoon, or as large as Sinestra, but still a reasonably sized creature. It has a wingspan of about 60 feet. It’s skin is almost translucent at points, and it passes through the stone as it soars into the sky.

It seems to be just looking around.

It spirals back to the mountains, and then phases right through one of the peaks--emerging unharmed on the other side.

Rexxar gives the “lets land” sign, and they start to descend. They attempt to avoid direct line of sight, but the dragon’s head snaps in their direction. It then starts to fly toward the cluster of clouds. The clouds try to hide as best they can, and they start to retake their humanoid forms.

However, when they are half-transformed, the dragon lands on one of the stones, and its eyes narrow.

Nether Dragon says [draconic]: Interlopers! You will not steal my eggs!

The dragon charges at them, and the air seems to warp. He opens his mouth and a cycle of arcane energy forms in his mouth, and a beam of energy shoots at the group--striking through Rexxar, Azgadaan, and Nyxxa. The brunt misses Nyxxa, but Azgadaan and Rexxar get blasted.

The dragon soars upward and phases into another stone, and then he kites around, his mouth opening once more. But then a stone opens up, and a woman peaks out.

It’s Tyri. Arthak doesn’t recognize her, but many of the others do.

She sees the group, and then sees the dragon.

Tyri says: Shit. Come on, quickly, get inside! He can’t follow us in here!
Nyxxa says: We can trust her! Lets go!

Sadras immediately starts running in the elf’s direction, as do the others. Arthak goes giant, and tells Azuka to run to Halno. Azgadaan grabs Levia and Go’el and uses dimension door, reappearing next to Tyri at the doorway.

Nyxxa veers away from the group and starts to shout in draconic at the dragon. The dragon phases and starts to appear closer to her. Black magic coalesces around it, and it seems to shift gravity as the air warps around the satyr.

Halno grabs Azuka and dimension doors to the entrance.

Nyxxa continues to try and distract the dragon, breaking free from the gravity phenomenon.

Tyri says: Ugh! Stupid girl! What does she think she’s doing? I’ll go and get her.
Azgdaaan says: If you have dimension door prepared, I can cast mine now, and we can just combo and get her.
Tyri says: I have another idea.

Tyri gets a mischievous look, and a long blue tail whips from beneath her cape, and she starts to shift.

Tyri says: Get inside! I’ll explain everything in a moment!

She starts to cast dimension door.

Sadras shouts at Nyxxa, but she keeps running. Arthak, however, veers off and runs for Nyxxa. He hits the wall of gravity manipulation, and he feels the weight of everything he’s carrying pull him down to his knee.

Nyxxa says: You shouldn’t have done that!
Arthak Saurfang says: And you shouldn’t have done this!

Another dragon, with sapphire blue scales appears above them and strikes into the nether dragon and begins to tussle with it.

Tyri says: Get inside! I’ll explain after I chase this ruffian off!

Arthak manages to struggle free from the gravity well and heads back to the stone door. Nyxxa follows after him.

Tyri continues to wrestle with the nether dragon, and slams it into the wall. However, it phases through and reappears, opening its jaws as it takes a shot at Nyxxa and Arthak. The beam of arcane energy connects Arthak, but Tyri comes up behind the nether dragon and swipes it aside.

There is a bit more wrestling, but the nether dragon breaks off and takes off into the sky after it clobbers Tyri aside. The sapphire dragon struts back towards the door, and she shifts back into her hybrid form--her horns still poking out of her hair--and then her fully elven form as she reaches the door.

Tyri says: I suppose I have some explaining to do, not that I wasn’t going to anyways.

She looks at her hand.

Tyri says: Ugh. Great. Now I’ve broken a nail.
Nyxxa says: Sorry ma’am.

Tyri closes the door, and retrieves a brush to start brushing her hair.

Tyri says: Welcome to the Singing Ridge, everyone.
