[Horde] Chapter Two: Session Six

July 13th

Remnii had just appeared, dropping the incantation of invisibility she had on herself from the Leafshadow Ata’mal crystal.

Phaedra immediately rushes up to Remnii and throws her arms around her, quietly squeeing. She asks Remnii what she is doing there, and Remnii responds it’s a long story. She then asks the same of Phaedra and “the Prophet Velen.”

The “Prophet” blinks, recognizing Remnii, but she doesn’t recognize him. The broken says this is a bit awkward.

Remnii comments desperate times call for desperate measures. But she said he should probably work on his beard.

He comments facial hair was never his strong point, but then asks how long Remnii had been listening.

She said long enough to know they were looking for a way out. She then asks how long the charade had been going on.

The man said it was the better part of 40 years. When Shattrath fell, he escaped into the woods. Phaedra, however, had not been involved for more than a month. The man states that the Lost Ones had been recreating their lives for years. They had caught him, and ultimately the only reason he survived was because of quick-thinking and white lies. However, now, his “people” seem to have irritated the wrong crowd--namely a group of orc that were tenacious in their aggressions, but they had also said there were a number of draenei with them.

Remnii said she can maybe help, but asks for his name.

He said his name is Raluhi. Remnii recognizes the name. He was one of many professors at an academy that helped young apprentices hone their arcane magic skills, and he was a good teacher as far as she heard.

Remnii then explains that Restalaan’s daughters and herself had been traveling with the orcs for a time, and she is now the “chief medical officer” for an orcish warband. She also said that she trusts them, and she has an idea to perhaps allow Raluhi leave and keep the Lost Ones from straying too far.

Raluhi said he does not believe the Lost Ones to believe in any splintered orcs, but Remnii shakes her head and said she expected more skepticism from him as well. However, using Raluhi’s station as “the Prophet Velen” and Phaedra’s station--

Phaedra mentioned, awkwardly, she may have been pretending to be Remnii.

Remnii then explains they were traveling to the Frostfire Ridges to find the Frostwolf clan, who had been absent from a recent meeting. However, the Lost Ones had taken many of their supplies, which was why the orcs came back. However, if the “Prophet Velen” and his “daughter” wished to take some leave of the city…

Raluhi nods, but then explains it isn’t going to work. His “scouts” have noticed the orcs are up to something. It isn’t safe to be here now. If he didn’t take an opportunity to leave now, he wouldn’t get another one.

Remnii said that she may be able to help him if he will trust her, but also warns him there is also a young eredar prince and a succubus traveling with them. Raluhi looks surprised. Remnii continues that the “Phrophet Velen” had received a vision that will be taking him far away, and his daughter will attend him. He will seek out peace, or meet with the army, depending on what you wish. They will pack him up supplies, and have them send him off.

Raluhi nods, believing it may work.

Remnii mentions reinforcements are not far away, but perhaps Raluhi can leave them with something valuable to the Prophet Velen so they can stay out of harm’s way, then, in theory, both Raluhi and Phaedra can walk out safely, and Remnii can leave by her own means.

Raluhi asks if she is entirely certain that the people Remnii is traveling with won’t just caught them down, and Remnii counters that, if they can handle Yrel, they can handle him.

Raluhi agrees to go with the plan, and he is honored to finally meet her. He then looks at Phaedra and comments “one more time, for old time’s sake” and Phaedra smacks him on the back of the knee.

Raluhi walks out and bangs his staff on the ground. The Lost Ones look up at him.

Raluhi: “My people, great warriors of Shattrath, heed your prophet! I have received a vision, one that will save us from the orcs that besiege our walls. My daughter and I must go to a far land to save us from the orcs that draw nearer. Gather as many supplies as you can, for the journey will be long and difficult, so I need as many goods as can be offered if we are to make it safely. We will drive back the orcish horde that draws in like a noose around us. But fear not!”

He plants his staff in the ground.

Raluhi: “All of you will protected as long as the magics in this staff remain in place. I am trusting in you to keep these magicks going until I return one day.”

The Lost Ones all drop their weapons and raise their hands in a sad mock of exaltation. He looks on with a look that is simultaneously sad, but also amazement it worked. Within a moment the Lost Ones begin gathering some supplies and forming them into parcels to be more readily carried. Within a few moments, the supplies is lifted.

He tries to make it look like the supplies is being lifted magically, and then coughs, and Remnii, invisible, serves as the “magic.”

The three of them maneuver their ways out.

Remnii, in that time, informs Phaedra that Samaara had also become broken. Phaedra looks at Samaara as she approaches along with Spinyl, and Phaedra greets her happily.

Remnii then drops her invisibility as well. Raluhi is clearly quaking once surrounded with the orcs and demons, and Remnii goes to comfort him. Phaedra is doing a bit better.

They do introductions with those present, and Dranosh suggests they go back to Arthak. Azgadaan, still disguised as an orc, puts the supplies in the bag of holding.

When they arrive back with the rest of the group, they add the supplies to the rest they had recovered. Remnii flags Arthak down, and introduces him to Raluhi and Phaedra as the chieftain of the Broken Blade clan.

Raluhi bows to Arthak and mentions he is at his mercy. He lost his archival crystal a while ago, but he still has some abilities as a mage to help Arthak where he can. Arthak thanks him.

Remnii mentions she wishes to touch base with Arthak at some point, and the group continues on the road.

Remnii and Azgadaan repair one of the goats to make more room for supplies, and Arthak caught Dranosh up on everything that had happened thus far. Dranosh is rather incredulous, then asks how Arthak is holding up.

Arthak tells him he doesn’t know.

Dranosh explains that he had been looking into the red pox on behest of his father, but they were unable to find out, for sure, who was responsible for the assassin that had been sent after him. However, Dranosh admits he is more concerned about Varok. They continue to banter a bit, and Dranosh congratulates him on the defeat of Azuka and also comments, with the arisal of the Broken Blade, Arthak now outranks him. Jokingly, it was something he had to remedy.

Dranosh then goes to touch base with Thura as well.

As the travel continues, Remnii does catch up with Phaedra and they talk about what happened to Phaedra. She explains that there are some things that Remnii should know. After the Ati-Kaso were reunited, it was short lived. Not everyone agreed with Ahonan’s decision to let Remnii go. Not after what happened to Samaara. They all think Samaara is dead. Jatra Spoke out against Ahonan and stated running just was causing them to die. Vendiir took up arms with her, and claimed they should make a more active role to strike against the orcs to get Remnii back. They had noticed the orcs moving strangely, heading toward the Hellfire Citadel. Oss, Vord, and several others also followed her. They ultimately joined Akama.

Phaedra tried to stop it, but failed.

Kessel also left while the feuds were happening claiming things were getting too active, and he departed with Moorbana.

Phaedra also mentioned Sulsoett was never heard from again, and Remnii confirms that she was dead at the hands of a Dreadlord.

(Full list of Ati-Kaso can be found here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1N4PhhcdFsjqXQHncHXejRkvejSRkPAP4icb1Bb9Pe0o/edit?usp=sharing )

Remnii then also fills Phaedra in on what she’s been up to, including the encounter with Mu’ru. She said that he told her, a number of times, that it was something that he needed to do, and Remnii needed to let him go. Remnii also mentions the two other naaru that were gathered by the Horde. The Burning Legion was marching.

They reflect on the “strange bedfellows” war has made in the company Remnii kept, and Remnii explains that Azgadaan has been doing some soul searching and Spinyl has been trying to uncorrupt herself as well. Remnii also mentions that, provided Phaedra treats them with kindness, she can walk freely among them.

Remnii had also asked Raluhi to listen in, and mentions that, technically, they may be working with what may be the vanguard of the invasion of the Legion. She admits she is afraid, but she believes in Velen’s vision, and that may be the only way to reunite with the rest of the draenei.

Even so, she doesn’t expect others to walk with her if they don’t choose to.

Both Phaedra and Raluhi state they will stay with her. Remnii mentions she may send Azgadaan, the eredar, to him for some teachings, as it may take a village to raise some of the people in the clan.

That night, early into Arthak’s watch, everything is dark. He is patrolling around with some of the new trainees. Something catches his eye. As Arthak looks out into the woods, he sees a lantern light flicker on. Then it flickers off. Then there are two more about 20 feet over doing the same. Then there are three that flicker on, then off again.

The lanterns are beyond the perimeter of the camp in the jungle around them. They seem to be moving closer. Not fast, but closer.

Arthak draws his weapon and nudges a few people to wake (namely the party and Lantresor) as the lights grow closer. At this distance, it seems the lantern lights aren’t being held by anyone. Remnii starts to try and rouse Yrel.

As Remnii looks at the lantern lights, and identifies them. They are not lantern lights. They are will-o-wisps. Orcs believe they are fragments of spirits that draw people to their deaths, but the draenei believe they are the spirits of mortals who are drawn into the Twisting Nether and die, which then bleed out into other existences. Azgadaan notes they are frequently gathered to power objects, but are something of a natural phenomena.

They note another warrior had gathered a fellow and were walking out toward the will-o-wisps. Azgadaan messages the orc and says “Pull back, you idiot. Bring your friend too.”

The orc and his friend pull back upon seeing the rest of the group.

Azgadaan informs them that magic weapons are most effective on them, and Remnii notes they are considered undead, and is able to note their elemental weaknesses. However, she does not wish to tamper with the spirits of the dead.

However, Remnii also knows they are naturally drawn to people, and if not dispersed, they can hurt or potentially kill.

The group begins to snap into action, and the will-o-wisps seem to recognize the movement. As soon as they start approaching, the spirits begin to dart and zip in and out of existence. Three of them materialize, and one shoots toward Arthak and the radius of light expands. A shock of electricity also cracks at Remnii, and the bracers that Azgadaan made her flare to life, negating the damage. Remnii uses turn dead to turn some of the wisps. Arthak cuts through two of them.

Spinyl pokes Yrel awake, telling her Remnii has run off into danger. Yrel runs out of the tent and takes out the last one. She is disappointed that was it and sulks back to bed.

Afterwards, Raluhi and Phaedra get acquainted, Spinyl pushing especially for tales of awkward Yrel tales. Specifically tales of Yrel making out with Phaedra. Yrel doesn’t recall at all, Phaedra teases, and Remnii remembers, having been completely sober.

Remnii works with some of the orcs with magic potential.

Phaedra tentatively interacts with Azkadaan. But Raluhi is TERRIFIED of him.

As they travel, they see a stone moving 10 feet away. IT’S A Doom Beast. And there is another one.

18 people are found. 13 are orcs. 5 of them are not. 4 of them are Saberon. 1 is an unbroken draenei child.

Remnii wakes her medics in training, but Spinyl calls for her.

Remnii is in shock, and calls for Yrel.
