[Alliance] Chapter Two: Session Two

0:00 June 12th The scene opens with Elissa’s victory in the jousting tournament. She was given the champion’s purse, a choice of of steed bred in the best stables of the kingdom, and a single request to the king and queen.

Elissa thanks Jaina and Arthas, and Jaina thanks her for the display.

The crier also announced that, in an hour, the ring jousting would occur, and that it was the decree of the queen that everyone stay properly hydrated on the warm summer day.

Gil spends most of the prep time talking to horses to try and find the best “partner” for the ring jousting tournament.

“Caylum” also goes to join up, and he and Gil are informed that there is a fee to cover the entry for those who are not lords or knights. Caylum just pays up, but Gil goes to find Uther. Tess also joins up.

Gil gives Uther the rundown of what he was told, and how unfair the situation was. Uther said he’ll try to see what he can do. Uther mozies over and asks if the man had ever seen the “Windrunner face” and knew who Gil was. The man expresses that while elves are part of the Alliance, it’s a different circumstance as they are not under Lordaeron.

Gil asks if knights from Stormwind had to pay, and the man said no.

Uther mentions that he isn’t going to tolerate a potential rift between his future kingdom and their allies in Quel’Thalas, and the man relents. Gil pretends to not be as smug as he is.

Ashwynn is also participating, it seems. Gil is the only full elf present, and “Calyum” and Arator are the only half elves. Julia Celeste is also participating. Ashwynn explains the rules to those who don’t know. There are three rings. A white one. A white one with red lines, and a white one with blue lines. The largest is the plain white one, and the smallest is the blue ringed one. The goal is to bypass all the obstacles while lancing the targets. The smaller the ring, the more points. They are worth 1, 2, or 3 points.

Up first was Anduin Wrynn.

Uther, Vel, Elissa, and Lianne are sitting together. Lianne is cheering loudly for Anduin and is wearing an adorable flower crown of daisies she is waving at Anduin.

Anduin clears the first obstacle perfectly and gets the red and white ring. The second one he clears with a bit less grace, but grabs the white ring. He clears the third obstacle with another white ring. He clears the last obstacle, but misses the ring. Varian is watching intently as well as his mother, while his younger brother is cheering and his youngest brother is sitting quietly. Taria, his sister, is also smiling watching intently. Taria glances in Uther’s direction and gives a smile.

Anduin just barely clears the last obstacle, but captures the largest ring. He got 5 points, and the crowd cheers.

Next contestant is “Caylum Earthseeker”. Everyone waits for a title, but when none comes they just clap. Caylum rides out on his grey rental horse. He rushes forward and passes the first obstacle, however he misses the ring he aimed for. He just barely clears the second obstacle, and misses the second ring. The crowd begins to boo. He just barely clears the third obstacle, and the ring is clipped and falls off at the last second. He just barely gets through the fourth obstacle, and once again misses the ring. There are some members of the Aurum Blades who are cheering loudly. He just barely clears the last obstacle, and also misses the last one.

Everyone laughs, and the cryer expresses that it was an “excellent” attempt. Caylum bows, and the Aurum Blades get everyone cheering and laughing good spiritedly.

Julia then enters the ring. She barely clears the first obstacle but lands the largest ring. She clears the second obstacle perfectly, and grabs the smallest ring. She collects the medium ring from the next two, but narrowly clears the second one and only gets 1 point. The final score is 9.

Ashwynn then enters and nails the first obstacle, but narrowly misses the ring. She nails the second obstacle and gets the middle ring. The next two she scores none, but the last one she scores one. She got a total of 3 points.

Up next is Tess “Stone”. She clears the first obstacle, but barely misses the ring. She barely clears the second obstacle, and barely misses the ring. She barely clears the third obstacle, and then she nabs the largest ring. She barely clears the fourth obstacle, but then misses the ring. For her final obstacle, she nails it. And she spears the smallest ring. She scores a total of 4.

Next up is Gil. He passes the first obstacle and scores the middle target. He barely passes the second obstacle, and nails the middle target again. He passes the third obstacle, and he knicks the smallest target, but then swoops in and gets it at the last moment. He passes the fourth obstacle and gets the smallest one. He clears the final obstacle and gets the smallest target again. He scores a grand total of 13 points. Nearly perfect.

The crowd goes wild with cheering. Arator scores a grand total of 3 points, having handled his horse well, but his hand interfered with gathering the rings. The others don’t come close.

In third place was Anduin Wrynn of Stormwind. In second place was Julia Celeste. Grand champion was Gilveradin Windrunner. Some coin is exchanged between Galadin and an individual sitting behind. The crier calls forth another congratulations. Gil is awarded 200 gold pieces. He is also granted free stay at the palace for the rest of the week.

At the very top of the bleachers, Gil sees Syeori, smiling as she claps. She then dips out and vanishes.

The Aurum Blades members find Caylum and buy him a drink because that was the funniest thing they had seen in a while.

Tess spends some time with her mother and Jaina, and they all swap stories about the different families.

Vel goes and plays Hearthstone with Krennan and they speak over worgen research.

Gil parties a bit, and Uther goes to bed early.

0:55 June 13th

The following day is the grand melee. Gil asks Uther which three people he didn’t want to have to fight. Uther expresses Falric, Marwyn, and Muradin, as it was customary for kings to NOT participate in the grand melee. Gil mentioned he knows who is afraid of then.

Vittoria catches the pair on the way, and she greets Uther. She is counting for him to be the last man standing as she is expecting a rematch. Vittoria also said to Gil that she would take him out nice and quick. She winks as she heads off.

There are dozens of people already prepared.

Uther and Gil don’t need to pay in, either due to rank or due to Gil’s new status as the ring joust winner, but Tess and Caylum have to buy in.

Caylum sees Finnall, and they greet each other. After all, Finnall needs to put Caylum in his place after he left her company. Caylum asks that she doesn’t target his face. And she asks him if he doesn’t want her to mess up his “pretty mug.”

Caylum: “Well you said it. I bruise easily.”

Finnall wishes them luck and is on her way.

The rules are explained. It’s a nonlethal fight, so attacking anyone that has been disqualified is grounds for disqualification. Magic is restricted. No magical items that affect performance are permitted. When an opponent is prone, tap their breastplate 3 times to disqualify them. Only throwing weapons are permitted.

The melee starts.

Meanwhile, up in the crowd. Vel sees Jaina looking around. She looks concerned. There is an empty seat where Arthas should be. Vel just looks down.

Vel: “I wonder if father is like son.”

Jaina: “Oh, by the arcane, that man will be the death of me.”

Low and behold, Arthas and Varian are walking out together. Arthas has a shitty grin, and Varian has a determined look. They see Uther as they go out.

The queen of Stormwind looks at Jaina and asks which husband was responsible. Jaina says she doesn’t know. She wants to say it was Varian, but she can’t.

Taria expresses she wouldn’t be surprised if it was a joint effort.

On the battlefield, Gil asks Uther if that was his father. Uther says yes.

The warriors then clash into each other as the battle commences. As the battlefield is drawn, surging into Uther’s battlefield is a spry dwarven warrior as well as a rogue of some sort. In addition to Marshall Falric. He sees Uther and nods in his direction.

In Gil’s corner, there are six individuals. There are two berserker-type people, one uncouth ruffian, and one lithe duelist. In addition, however, is a scarlet haired woman, in additional to Varian Wrynn.

In Tess’s corner are also six combatants: 2 scouts, 2 spies, Arator, and Gavinrad the Dire. Tess asks Arator if he should be healing. Arator said it wasn’t the best idea, but he had to get used to fighting again. Arator says that’s not the biggest problem Tess has. He then clashes weapons with Tess.

In Caylum’s corner there are three other fighters, which are a berserker, a knight, and Danath Trollbane.

Caylum acts first in his corner, and he immediately goes for the knight. His first blow nearly knocks the knight over, and the man is staggered. Caylum shoves him out of the “safe area” and the man falls prone.

Arator goes first in his and Tess’s corner, and he makes a strike at Tess. Unfortunately, he misses.

Gil goes first in his corner, and he runs at the swashbuckler. He hits her hard with two strikes.

Meanwhile, over with Uther, the dwarf scout runs at Uther. Both attacks miss, however.

A dwarf recklessly attacks Arator, and both blows connect.

Meanwhile, the knight Caylum kicked out goes to move, but he is eliminated. The berserker in Caylum’s corner then recklessly runs at Danath, and the attack connects. Danath is knocked out of the safe area, and the old man is knocked prone. He then runs to attack Caylum.

Varian wades in to the berserkers in his corner and starts to mess one up. The berserker nearly drops. Lady Bridgette, the red haired woman in Gil’s corner, also attacks the swashbuckler that Gil had engaged. However, she only manages to land one strike. The thug, meanwhile, tries to flank Gil. The elf takes two glancing blows from the mace. Gil’s shield is knocked to the ground.

Tess ignores Arator, and goes for the dwarf that attacked him instead. Unfortunately, she misses.

Back in Uther’s corner, Uther attacks the dwarf that attacked him and she staggers back. He then shoves her between himself and Falric, and she is knocked prone. Falric takes a step forward and disqualifies the scout. He then approaches to engage Uther and the rogue Uther had just engaged.

The swashbuckler disengages from Gil and Bridgette, and then flanks the thug that had engaged Gil. However, the thug clumsily dodges out of the swashbuckler’s attacks. The swashbuckler then drops his weapons and bows out.

Danath stands up and avoids being disqualified, but moves to start engaging Caylum.

Tess is attacked by one of the light infantryman. He lands two hits on her, and Tess’s rapier is sent flying. Tess is also sent flying into a wall out of the safe zone.

The spy in Uther’s battlefield tries to get at Falric, and Falric makes an attack on him. The attack connects. The spy tries to attack Falric, but hits both blows.

In Tess’s corner, the scout and rogue engage, and they exchange blows. The rogue knocks the infantryman prone and hits with a devastating blow. However, a referee calls him out on attacking a prone opponent, and is disqualified.

The berserker tries to attack Varian, and the attack connects. Varian says he is holding back. The other berserker also attacks Varian, and manages to land a crit. Varian grins and flips one of his swords around as his second is knocked from his hand.

Gavinrad then just goes and disqualifies the down infantryman, before walking over to Arator.

Varian attacks the poor fool that crit him and lands a crit of his own. He then rounds on the second berserker once more.

Gil attacks the thug and gets two solid hits on him.

Falric attacks the rogue, and manages to land one hit.

Lady Bridgette and runs to get into the action with Varian. She manages to hit three times, and is pushed back and knocked prone outside the battlefield.

Gavinrad attacks Arator, and with a flurry of blows and a boot to the chest, Arator is shoved from the battlefield and disqualified. Gavinrad then moves on to the dwarf.

Tess grabs her weapon and charges back into the battlefield. She goes for the dwarf that knocked her prone and lands a solid hit.

Caylum takes a swing at the berserker and lands a solid hit. He then disengages and runs into Tess’s battlefield. Danath, however, finishes off the berserker.

The scout charges up on Gavinrad, but misses both times.

The rogue continues to try and attack Falric and lands a glancing blow.

The thug attacks Gil, but misses both attacks.

Uther takes a swing at Falric, and misses big time as Falric effortlessly parries it.

The berserker, rather than charging in on Varian to disqualify him, continues attacking Bridgette and misses.

The dwarf attacks Tess, but she is able to negate a degree of the damage. However, he gives a battle cry, and Tess is intimidated.

Falric dispatches the scout, and then turns to face Uther one on one. He then strikes at Uther handily.

Gil charges past the thug, but then runs and before Varian stands, Gil taps him on the breastplate and disqualifies him. Varian congratulates him.

In the stands, Vel starts to give a cheer for her bother and half stands up, but then stops and sits down again.

The dwarf continues wailing on Tess, and she is disqualified. Gavinrad strikes in on the dwarf in response. The scout goes in on Gavinrad, but misses.

The thug charges at Gil with a shout of “get back here, you knife-eared bastard!” and Gil paries his blow, says “excuse you” and dodges the second one.

Caylum runs in an attacks Gavinrad, landing a firm hit. Caylum then disengages and moves back.

Uther attacks Falric, but he blocks the hammer with a congratulatory comment.

Bridgette lands three solid hits on the berserker. However, the berserker lands a crit and she is sent spilling backwards.

Gil teaches the racist a lesson by hitting him across the face with the flat of his blade, knocking him down. He then runs at the berserker and lands a solid hit.

The dwarf in Caylum’s corner continues attacking Gavinrad, landing some solid blows. Caylum also dives in and lands a hit of his own before once more jumping back. Gavinrad looks at Caylum.

Gavinrad: “It looks like someone needs to teach you the meaning of the word chivalry!”

Gavinrad turns to engage Caylum, and the two guys he has engaged go to make opportunity attacks but miss. Gavinrad lands the hit, and Caylum feels a bit off-kilter. However, he was able to dodge out of the last two hits.

Falric lands a strong hit on Uther and knocks him prone. Falric then uses action surge, and taps Uther out. Falric congratulates him for the good fight, and helps him stand.

The berserker rounds on Gil.

Berserker: “Can’t you see I was flirting with the lady, here!?”

He misses, however, and Gil laughs as he blocks it with his shield.

Lady Briggitte stands up and runs in to swing at the berserker.

BBriggitte: “Consider this my answer, you nave!”

She knocks out the berserker, and Briggitte asks Gil his name. He answers Gilveradin Windrunner, and she says that she will be his opponent. She swings in with a nat 1, and then Gil dodges the second blow as well.

The scout runs for Gavinrad, and the dwarf makes an attack of opportunity. However, the scout knocks the paladin prone with his hit. The second hit the scout swings on Caylum and lands a small hit.

The scout then retreats, giving Caylum an opening to tap Gavinrad out.

Gil lands a hit on Briggitte.

The scout and dwarf exchange blows. The dwarf lands a superior blow, and takes the scout out. Caylum taps out Gavinrad, and then bolts before the dwarf can get on him.

Gil continues to dance around Lady Briggitte, evading all her strikes.

Then the battlefield surges, and more people get into Gil’s quadrant. One is a veteran soldier, and the other is Elissa. Gil asks her if she saw Arthas, and she stammers no.

Sir Aidan Blackmoore also appears. Along with Marwyn.

Gil moves closer to Elissa, and continues to swing at Briggitte. He lands two strong hits on her. Gil asks Elissa to help him out.

Caylum appears in the battlefield, and also lands a hit on Briggitte.

The veteran attacks Sir Blackmoore, while Briggitte continues trying to attack Gil. However, at the pivotal moment, her blow misses.

The veteran and Aiden exchange blows, and Marwyn attacks Elissa. She blocks the first blow, and then the second blow on her shield. Marwyn congratulates her, and Elissa thanks him while she swings her weapon at him. However, her attack misses.

Gil lands a hit on Briggitte, and she is knocked prone. Gil then runs off behind Marwyn, and Briggitte makes an attack of opportunity but misses. Gil then makes an attack on Marwyn and drops him prone as well.

Caylum then goes and tags Briggitte out.

Marwyn stands up, and he continues attacking Elissa, but she blocks every blow.

The veteran and Aiden continue to exchange blows.

2:44/ 0:14

Gil tries to make another blow on Marwyn, but misses both attacks as he fatigues.

Caylum tries to attack Aiden, but misses. The veteran continues to attack Sir Blackmoore as well.

Marwyn continues fighting Elissa, and she continues to block. Marwyn once again congratulates her, and Elissa thanks him as she strikes again.

Aiden finishes off the veteran, and then sweeps around to hit Caylum, who ducks around to evade some of the damage.

Gil misses twice again.

Caylum also misses his attacks on Aiden.

Marwyn continues going for Elissa, but misses both hits. Aiden follows up on Caylum and lands a blow, and then a second blow.

Elissa tries to hit Marwyn, but also misses.

Gil lands a hit on Marwyn, but the second attack misses. Elissa also misses.

Caylum then disengages and swings around to crit Elissa. She stammers “nice hit” as she buckles her shield.

Marwyn says that he can’t rightly let Caylum beat on a pretty lady, and he goes for Caylum instead. However, he misses two hits before landing the third. He just barely knicks him with the fourth attack, and Caylum spills out.

The crowd surges again.

A berserker enters, followed by Darion Mograine, Saidan Dathrohand, and Turalyon.

Gil: “Uncle Turalyon!?”

Turalyon: “Ah. Gil. I’m impressed you made it this far, Gilveradin. Prepare yourself.”

Darion and Saidan engage. Darion targets Saidan’s old knee and drops him prone.

Marwyn makes a few blows at Turalyon, but Turalyon blocks.

Aiden makes attacks at Gil, and misses both, while Turalyon returns blows on Marwyn.

Elissa lands a hit on Marwyn, while the berserker runs for Saidan and disqualifies him.

Gil takes Aiden out, and Gil spills the remaining damage on Marwyn.

Marwyn manages to drop Gil with his returning hit, disqualifying him.

3:05/0:35

The battle continues to get parsed down, and unfortunately Elissa is also eliminated. Turalyon winds up victorious and continues on. Turalyon eventually faces Danath Trollbane, and Renault Mograine, Tiron Fordring, Falstaad, and Zaeneas also engage. However, Zaeneas is defeated, and Renault is the only one to remain standing of the group.

Taelia Fordragon also makes her way into round 5, as well Vittoria, Anduin, and Lady Waycrest-Proudmoore, as well as Maxwell Tyrosus.

Arthas, Maxwell Tyrosus, Ashwynn, Finnall, Mishan Waycrest-Proudmoore, Thassarian, and Muradin are the ones that remain at the very end.

3:11/0:46

People start to cheer for all the favorites. Finnall is playing up to the crowd. However, as that happens Lady Waycrest-Proudmoore rushes forward and Finnall spins around and they clash. Ashwynn and Arthas lock eyes, and they go for each other. Mishan’s weapon is sent sailing through the air, and Finnall retrieves it. Mishan surrenders.

Ashwynn peppers Arthas with a number of small attacks. Eventually, however, Arthas rushes in and nearly knocks her from her feet, and he sends her sword sailing. She is left only with the spear. He runs in to deliver a finishing blow, but in that moment Ashwynn bursts out, sweeps her lance wide and knocks him down. She then disqualifies him.

However, before Arthas could even get to his feet, Finnall set upon Ashwynn and disqualifies her.

Meanwhile, Maxwell and Thassarian are bashing each other. Blades clash, and finally Maxwell wins. However, not long after, Muradin capsizes Maxwell and knocks him out.

The ending pairing is Finnall vs Muradin. The two walk about each other for a moment, sizing up each other. There is some friendly banter.

Caylum is able to read their lips.

Finnall: “You know I have quite a bit of experience sparring with people your height.”

Muradin laughs, and Caylum can’t read his lips.

Finnall: “That’s exactly what I intend on doing.”

It seems he made a “may the best man win” comment.

Muradin runs in, and Finnall sends one of his weapons flying. She then leaps up, lands on his shoulders, and she sends him off balance.

There is a flicker of movement, and before Muradin even hits the ground, Finnall disqualifies him.

The crowd is silent for a moment, and she tosses her rapier in the air and catches it. Then the crowd goes wild.

Almost as soon as the excitement wound up, it begins to slow as the group starts to head out.

Uther goes and finds Ashwynn and Arthas, and Arthas has a hand clapped on his daughter’s shoulder. Arthas congratulates Uther on his performance, but Uther focuses on Ashwynn, clearly amazed.

Ashwynn is rather modest about the whole deal, but Arthas also offers heaps of praise.

Arthas also asks them to help with damage control as he looks up at Jaina, who is waiting, her foot tapping. Uther says he underestimates them.

Arthas says for them to get some rest as there is a ball that night.

He immediately tries to apologize to Jaina. She is very cross. It’s rather amusing.

As Gil heads up to meet his family, and Giramar sidles up and mentions he was able to cash in quite a bit.

Gil: “I’m exhausted right now, I’ll throw you.”

Girarmar: “Fine, I won’t share my winnings with you.” Gil: “What winnings?”

Giramar shows him the winnings, and Gil mentions he underestimates him sometimes to his detriment. Giramar then prances off, followed by his twin.

Vereesa also congratulates him on his length of survival. Gil admits there was a degree of luck. Vereesa said the only one that would have stayed in there that long was Alleria, and Gil said he’s confident Alleria would have won.

Vereesa reassures him that she can’t hear him.

Vel and Lirath also congratulate him.

3:28/0:58

The rest of the day is resting before the ball.

Uther heads down early to greet some of the guests.

Vel has a knock on her door while she is getting ready. It’s Vittoria. She’s smiling. She’s wearing her dress already and she gives it a spin and asks what she thinks.

There’s a lot of awkward greetings and such.

Vittoria apologizes for kissing Uther before the battle. They have a great deal of awkward conversation. Namely about their feelings about Uther, and Vittoria expresses she wants them to remain friends regardless of what happens.

She leaves, just as Gil arrives. Gil is surprised at the fact Vittoria was visiting Vel, and that she wasn’t covered by frost or otherwise magically harmed or inhibited.

Gil then goes and does her hair, as he is not letting her go until her hair is done. He does it for her, using magic. They then start to head down to the feast.

3:50/1:20

Meanwhile, Caylum is out getting a drink with Thaxdorlin and some of the other Aurum Blades. He ends up buying drinks for everyone, and then asks Finnall if she would indulge him with a dance later.

Finnall: “You know, Caylum, there’s a lot of things I thought you were, but a big game hunter wasn’t one.”

They do end up dancing. Finnall is very drunk. She steps on his foot once or twice, and then she spins him. Caylum lands on Dereven’s lap, and his ears hastily redden.

Dereven blushes.

Caylum asks if Dereven is still open for that food offer, and Dereven scrambles for his coin purse.

Finnall gets more and more raucously drunk, and Caylum says she can’t hold her liquor. Theo says she can, she just drinks so much it doesn’t matter. At some point Finnall gets dragged off to sleep. But it was actually an illusory clone that was dragged off. A chase ensues before Finnall is taken to bed.

4:00/1:30

Meanwhile, back at the feast, it is underway. It is everything Uther asked for, so it’s a lot of meat, fruit, and cheeses. Uther is sitting with his family. Calia is also with the Menethils, alongside the Proudmoores and Wrynns nearby.

Vel and Gil are sitting with the other elves and the rest of the Windrunners.

Galadin goes to go get some punch, and Rhonin stops him saying that if he spikes the punch he will be grounded for his entire lifespan, not just Rhonin’s.

Gil mentions there are at least four farstriders present, and Vel mentions that the odds aren’t in his favor. And she will always tell him the odds. Accurately.

Tess is sitting with her family, and Tess is having a hard time to remembering all the proper etiquette. Mia scolds her. She was holding her salad fork like she was going to use it to dig into a piece of meat.

Tess hovers her hand over the next fork, and Rafia shakes her head slightly. And repeats as Tess moves her hand, and then nods when she reaches the right one.

Meanwhile, Krennan is rather sloppily eating a bowl of stew. After all, at his age he loses half the stew trying to eat it with a spoon.

Despite herself, Mia does smile.

Then there is was a minstrel that gathers everyone’s attention as the food starts to be cleared away. Tables are moved aside to clear up the dance floor.

The minstrel turns to Uther, and there is some playful commentary. He calls attention to some of the humorous instances during the festivities, and then compliments Uther’s appearance. Uther then walks to the floor.

The minstrel announces that Uther present a speech for his loyal subjects. He then bows and backs off.

Uther looks a tad surprised.

Uther: “Something that my father has told me. Loraderon is not the palace or the lands, it is our people. All of us. And I do swear to all of you here and now, not as a knight of the Silver Hand, not as the future king of Lordaeron, but as a man born in Lordaeron. Every breath that I draw will serve to push me to my goal of securing peace and prosperity for all of Lordaeron. I’m certain you all didn’t come here to listen to me talk. Lets dance.”

There is a loud cheer of “FOR LORDAERON!”

Then Lianne collides into Uther as she calls dibs on the first dance.

Meanwhile, Gil is watching Vel intently. Vel sighs, realizing that Gil is going to make sure she keeps up her part of the bargain. She then looks at her dad, and mentions that Gil wasn’t going to let her leave until she danced with someone.

She was asking him to dance.

Lirath beams, clearly overjoyed, and they dance around slowly. Meanwhile, Rhonin is looking on in pride as he sees Vel dancing with her father while he dances with his wife.

Gil, meanwhile, goes and swoops in on Tess who was by the punch bowl. Tess asks why Gil was dancing with her, and he just said that she was standing there. And it let him keep an eye on Vel.

After Vel is done dancing with her dad, he thanks her for the dance and then goes to try and steal his sister. Or Rhonin. Possibly.

Uther goes and offers Vel a dance. They talk for a bit, and Uther makes his intentions toward her clear, though she tries to argue him down, but he is insistent that this is what he wants. She starts to get increasingly uncomfortable, and Uther lets her go, though Vel sees he is a bit twisted up.

Gil covers her exit.

Meanwhile, Taria goes in and steals a dance with Uther, offering her ear if he ever needs to talk to anyone.

4:45/2:15

Uther dances with several other ladies, with the only other one more swamped being Anduin. However, Uther can’t find Vittoria. He goes to try and find her between dances. She doesn’t seem to be in the immediate area.

He hears a dull thunking in one of the courtyards. Vittoria is slamming into the training dummy with a greatsword, still in her dress. She’s muttering to herself and putting all her effort into the swings. She seems to be repeating “stupid.”

Uther interrupts. “I think the poor chap has had enough, don’t you?”

Vittoria starts, and her sword goes clattering. She immediately turns away.

Uther says he knows the dance isn’t the most exciting thing, but she can beat on training dummies whenever she likes. He asks if the reason she is out there has anything to do with him.

Uther sees her freeze for a fragment of a second. And she says it’s not him.

Uther asks if it was Vel, and she also says it wasn’t her. Vittoria is more mad at herself than anything.

Uther says she has plenty of things to be proud of, and she said it wouldn’t be good enough for him.

Uther: “Everyone seems to think so highly of me… Vittoria, I… I don’t know. I saw that you were missing, so I came to find you, and now that I found you I can’t think of anything to say.”

Vittoria said the fact she’s making him do it at all is childish.

Uther says that she didn’t make him do anything. He’s a prince, and does what he wants.

She said she hasn’t cried about anything in years.

Uther asks if he can make it up to her. Namely, a dance tonight, and a spar tonight.

Vittoria says she will be fine, and he says he knows she will. He won’t force her.

She said she wants to take up every piece of the offer, but she doesn’t want to hurt him or herself. She doesn’t know what to do.

Uther says if he ever finds out what to do when everything hurts, he will let her know.

Vittoria said she’s intending on leaving with Danath for Stromgarde, and it would be best if she got out of his hair.

He said she was never in his hair, or overbearing.

They talk a bit more, and end up taking a walk.
