Outland Day 3

Khadgar’s brow furrows, one hand on his hip and the other on his staff.

Khadgar says: The two of you should know better than to follow me when I go on my patrols. Now look what you got yourselves into.
Kalec says: Archmage, I have no intention to intervene. You were acting suspicious and I wanted to help.

Khadgar pinches his brow and sighs.

Khadgar says: Well I suppose they’re implicit now. You can trust them, they’re talented mages of the Kirin Tor. They should be able to assist and I suppose they’re accomplices now.

He looks back to Kalec and Tyri and informs them they should know better than to tell anyone else about the meeting, and they nod. Khadgar sighs and looks back to the group.

Khadgar says: Right, the group of scouts should have reported in a few days ago now. If you can find any tracks where his or his team went off to, that would be a good first step.

Nyxxa claps her hands together.

Nyxxa says: Well, I have good news and bad news. I… happen to have learned what is there. An inquisitor demon.

Khadgar raises his brow.

Khadgar says: That… is troubling. My involvement is limited with such creatures, but I know of them, but… you’ll have your work cut out for you. Do you know of their fate?
Nyxxa says: I can look into it. But…

She looks at Halno.

Nyxxa says: We may need to send a message.
Halno says: Do you need me to send a message to grumpy?

Nyxxa nods.

Khadgar says: Well, if you can look into that, you’d have our gratitude.
Nyxxa says: There’s also that news I was going to tell you yesterday… is it…

Her eyes look to Kalec and Tyri.

Khadgar says: It should be safe.
Nyxxa says: A while back I heard of a red dragon that went missing during the fall of Silvermoon. I was able to find out what happened to her. She was taken by Sinestra, who had both her and a green dragon. Both were taken through the portal.
Khadgar says: Is that so?
Nyxxa says: I’m intending on tracking her down and rescuing them. I had several people ask me to do so.
Tyri says: Well then we wish to help! I… If that is alright.

She regathers herself. Kalec nods in agreement.

Kalec says: Quite so. It’s interesting you would say… a green and a red, you say?

Nyxxa nods.

Kalec says: As of yet… we’ve been looking into draconic activity as one of my assignment, and we’ve yet to see any evidence of red or green, but there are dragons active. In addition to this Sinestra, we have reason to believe there are… others here. Um. But they are not red or green. In fact, they are not of any flights I’m familiar with. They may be unique to this world.
Halno says: This world did not have dragons.
Kalec says: Is that so? I suppose then their presence here is quite peculiar.
Halno says: I would hate to bring it up in this manner, but given Sinestra’s history of warping life forms, there’s a possibility she did something to those dragons.
Kalec says: It’s possible, but there have been many more than two.
Tyri says: It’s true! We’ve been doing some scrying and searching and we found some of them. Nests. They’ve been located in various places. Some in the tall mountains to the north and in the valley beyond that was apparently called the Shadowmoon Valley once. They seem to be congregating. What few there are. If you truly wish to help them, then I would you facilitate that, but you’ll need to go to them first.
Nyxxa says: I would appreciate that. We have numerous other business to deal with, but that is something I want to handle while we’re here.

Kalec nods.

Kalec says: If they know of Sinestra, earning their trust may be a good first step. Thus far we haven’t found any evidence of her.
Nyxxa says: That’s troublesome…
Halno says: So you were already investigating them?

Kalec nods.

Kalec says: I have a vested interest for a number of reasons. Reasons I can’t talk about, but it’s one of many things I’ve been looking into for my masters in the Kirin Tor.

Azgadaan tell that neither Kalec nor Tyri are good at hiding information, but Tyri less so. It’s clear they have a vested interest in dragons, and they aren’t telling them everything. However, they seem to be willing to trust the group somewhat because Khadgar is willing to.

Kalec says: If you find any of these nexuses of crystal that these nether dragons have congregated around, let us know. We’ll find you, so we can reach forth with an olive branch together. If we focus our minds toward a singular goal, we should be able to prove we’re not a threat. If you truly have good intentions, I would give you the opportunity to show it.
Azgadaan says: Speaking of good intentions, do you happen to have a map of what these previous world looked like?
Kalec says: We arrived here after the expedition did after contact was made with Dalaran. We never stepped foot here before it looked like it does now.
Azgadaan says: I could possibly lend you my map to copy.
Kalec says: That would be most useful! I have no doubt this world has changed drastically, but even a rough outline would help.

Kalec takes the map Azgadaan offers and Azgadaan also states he had created a spell to aid in mapping, if Halno was willing to share it.

Kalec says: That would be helpful. Tyri, while I… compare notes with this… kind gentleman, could you try to pinpoint the locations the best you can?
Tyri says: Of course, that would be nothing for me!

With a flick of her hand, a quill appears in the elven woman’s hand and she starts to do some calculations. Meanwhile, Kalec takes some notes on the spell in Halno’s book, and meanwhile, Nyxxa touches base with the others in the group to ensure they are alright with a theoretical rescue mission. No one seems to be opposed.

Halno’s eyes go to the quill Tyri conjured.

Halno says: That… is fascinating.

Kalec, meanwhile, is fascinated by the spell that Azgadaan had proctored as he looked at Halno’s book, and he muses he can also help pinpoint the group in the direction of some of the nests. However, notably, Kalec is able to copy the spell with a great deal of speed.

Kalec says: Thank you, Halno.

Halno is fascinated, and Kalec and Tyri have been consistently sharing looks and then looking back to Halno and the demons with an equal degree of interest. Halno gets the sense that Tyri and Kalec are communicating nonverbally.

Halno says: Are you two using magical communication?

Halno quirks his head at them. Tyri immediately gets flustered, but Kalec chuckles.

Kalec says: Yes. We are. We usually do. Apologies if that is offensive, we don’t mean to.
Halno says: No, it’s fascinating. I don’t recall you casting any spells.
Kalec says: We will attempt to keep our communications quiet for now.
Halno says: It’s no bother, but I’m fond of learning more about magic, and you two and Khadgar are using spells I’ve never seen.
Kalec says: Well, seems we share that surprise, my most peculiar friend. But all that aside. We will continue our research into these nether dragons. If you are in the areas Tyri has indicated...

Tyri had given a very rough sketch of the map with a few circled areas and notations in common.

Tyri says: I hope this will suffice until we can get a proper version. In the meanwhile, if you get to one of these locations, call us or Khadgar. But let me make something clear, just because Archmage Khadgar trusts you, it doesn’t mean I do, and if this is a ruse to bring any harm to these nether dragons, I will destroy you. Is that clear?

Her hands are on her hips. Halno looks between her, Kalec, and Tyri’s spellbook.

Halno says: I have no intentions of any deception, or intent to cause harm.
Tyri says: Good. I hope the rest of you intend the same. Just because Archmage Khadgar and Kalec are fast to make friends, doesn’t mean I am too. You’ll have to prove yourselves to me just as well as the nether dragons, understood?
Nyxxa says: If they are something Sinestra created or made suffer, I have no intention of letting more suffering befall them. In any sense.
Tyri says: We’ll see, demon. Actions prove louder than words.
Nyxxa says: And for a demon to gain trust, they have to do ten times the amount of work as a regular person. I get that.
Tyri says: Good.

Kalec looks apologetic, but not undermining, and Khadgar is just observing.

Khadgar says: I look forward to hearing of your success, Nyxxa. I shouldn’t know details.
Tyri says: On top of that, whenever you need to reach out to me.

A swirl of icy magic appears in Tyri’s hands, and a teardrop seems to drip from her eye. She starts to warp some magic around the tear, and it solidifies in a teardrop-shaped stone she flicks at Halno.

Tyri says: Reach out to me with this. Careful, it’s one use. It’ll be inert after. And don’t even think about trying to do anything funny with it.

It seems that Tyri used a temporary infusing ability to conjure a short-term use sending stone. She may have some artificing ability.

Azgadaan says: So this functions as a sending stone and anyone can use it?
Tyri says: Yes. And it contacts only me. Once you use it, it will melt, so be careful.
Azgadaan says: Would it function as a… target for scrying or other sendings?

Tyri gets flustered for a moment.

Tyri says: You can use sendings through it, but don’t you dare scry on me, eredar. A woman deserves her privacy, thank you very much.

Halno scratches his chin and sticks the stone in his pocket.

Halno says: As a show of good faith, and the best one I can think of…

Halno holds out his scepter.

Halno says: If I am ever a problem, this is the core of my being.

Almost in unison, Khadgar, Kalec, and Tyri’s eyes all spark with magic as they look at the scepter. Azgadaan starts laughing.

Tyri looks a bit disturbed, but Kalec furrows his brow.

Kalec says: I see. You put a good deal of trust in us.
Halno says: It’s the most effective way to kill me.
Kalec says: Duly noted. Let us hope it doesn’t come to that.
Halno says: I agree. But should you see anyone else with one of these, it is also the most effective way to kill them.
Khadgar says: That will certainly be useful.
Halno says: Most of them are far more dangerous than I could ever hope to be.
Khadgar says: Well. We’ve been away for a fair bit now. It would be wise to return before Turalyon gets antsy. Is there anything else you need from me?
Azgadaan says: Well. Most of my spells are utilitarian and defensive… would you have any magics to share that would be effective against demons?
Khadgar says: I unfortunately do not have the time or resources to tutor you. For the time being, I would like to see what you can do. I’m sure you have a few tricks, as a demon yourself.
Nyxxa says: Fortunately, I need to be quite adept at that subject.
Khadgar says: I would like to see what you’re capable of doing in person, but that may have to wait.
Azgadaan says: If we are going into the fight, we could send you so you could scry us?
Khadgar says: I don’t think it would be wise for me to gander at a demon brawl. It would be my luck Turalyon would walk in at the right time. It would be like being a child all over again.
Azgadaan says: Wouldn’t that be the best time for him to walk in?
Nyxxa says: Lets not push things too far.
Khadgar says: And perhaps the allegory of a parent walking in on a child with inappropriate reading material isn’t for the best.
Nyxxa says: Khadgar, if I can steal you for just a moment?
Khadgar says: Of course. Tyri, Kalec, the two of you can head back. I’ll be able to follow shortly.

Kalec nods.

Kalec says: It was a pleasure. I look forward to speaking with you again. When you look into these nether dragons, reach out to us.
Nyxxa says: Pleasure to met you, and thank you for putting your faith in us.
Kalec says: Of course. You’ll have to recount how this encounter with the elven scouting party goes.

Tyri nods as well, and she casts the flying spell on the pair of them and they then turn invisible and take off. Khadgar watches them go.

Khadgar says: Those two are consistently a handful, but they are trustworthy. But I suppose we’re all putting ourselves on the line. If you’ll excuse me.

He nods at the group before stepping aside with Nyxxa.

Nyxxa says: Honestly, I’m a bit ashamed, typically I’m on top of that, but perhaps it’s better you saw them first.
Khadgar says: It’s alright. If we’re going to be spied on, those two are some of the better choices.
Nyxxa says: That’s good. Plus the boys seems to like them, so that’s good.
Khadgar says: Kalec can be a trusting one. I hope that doesn’t get him in trouble, but hopefully Tyri can keep him in line.
Nyxxa says: Curious pair. But, that said, I had a gift for you.
Khadgar says: Oh! I had nearly forgotten. Should I close my eyes, or…?
Nyxxa says: No! We don’t need to make a big deal, but…

He pulls out a small, hand-carved wooden raven, which Khadgar takes and chuckles.

Khadgar says: This is delightful.
Nyxxa says: It matched your…

She flaps her hands like a bird.

Khadgar says: You know, I only take that form because of my old teacher.
Nyxxa says: Ah, so that’s who you learned druidry from?

Khadgar laughs.

Khadgar says: Well, it’s not druidry. I’ve never actually born witness to it. In concept there are similarities, but what I do so much less complex.
Nyxxa says: Oh. I can’t tell the difference. I guess it was strange I didn’t see any druids…
Khadgar says: It’s a magic not practiced much by the Alliance. It’s really only practiced in more secluded corners of the world. But, I thank you for this.

Khadgar puts the pin on his robs.

Khadgar says: It matches nicely.
Nyxxa says: Are you sure you want to show that off? It is a gift given by demon.
Khadgar says: And how duplicitous it would be. What would Turalyon say?

Nyxxa’s tail wags tentatively.

Khadgar says: Perhaps this is our little rebellion. But don’t do anything to disappoint my trust or I may stop wearing it.

Nyxxa looks sad.

Nyxxa says: Oh.
Khadgar says: Oh, don’t worry, it was only a joke.
Nyxxa says: I just… really don’t want to disappoint you.

Khadgar reassures, and Nyxxa’s spirits start to rise again.

Nyxxa says: My demon skills are getting rusty… it’ll be good to get back to it.
Khadgar says: Well. Here, there’s no risk of your cover being blow. Provided there are no survivors, of course. But on that notion, watch out for yourself, will you? That goes both ways.
Nyxxa says: Yes. I need to remind myself of that. I’ve prone to be reckless, but I have kids to look after now…

Khadgar cocks his head, and then looks back at the group, starting to piece things together.

Khadgar says: Right. Well, look after all of them then. I’ll speak to you again soon.

Nyxxa nods.

Nyxxa says: It’s good to hear a friendly face in my head for once.

Khadgar smiles and puts a hand on her shoulder.

Khadgar says: Good hunting, Nyxxa.

He bids farewell to her and the rest of the group, and he swirls his staff around, and in a billow of smoke, he transforms into a raven, lands on Nyxxa’s horn for a second, and then takes off toward Honor Hold.

Nyxxa says: Well. That went well.
Halno says: I liked them.
Azgadaan says: Made it more interesting seeing some spies showed up.
Nyxxa says: Sorry for not being on top of that… it was a busy evening and I’ve had a lot on my mind.
Levia Blackflight says: Yeah, you could say that.

Levia smirks at Nyxxa.

Nyxxa says: Hm? Yeah, with the demon hunter that showed up.

Levia laughs.

Halno says: Oh. Right.

Halno casts sending, targeting Loramus.

Halno says [sending]: I know you informed Nyxxa to stay away, however, we will be on our way shortly. We have business that way.

He just gets a grunt in response.

Loramus Thalipedes says [sending]: Very well. I will find you. I suppose.
Halno says: Guys. Guys. He grunts just like Arthak. Also, he said he’d find us. I don’t know if that’s a good thing or not.
Nyxxa says: It… should be fine. He has specific demons he goes for… But it might be better to meet on his terms.
Halno says: Are we doing this without the other grumpy?

He looks at Sadras, and Sadras snickers.

Nyxxa says: That’s… probably for the best.

Halno informs Arthak via sending that they have further business in the area they were in, so it would be a bit until they return. Arthak assures him he will keep busy.

The group sneaks away from the area and takes off to head towards the south For about four hours, the drive is uneventful. However, the canyons and divots start to narrow, and they get thicker with blasted foliage and blasted rocks. The damage seems to be different. Rather than the blasted hellscape of the firestorms, the land has remnants of a swamp. However, whatever this place once looked like has clearly changed.

There are blackened trees with crippled veins of bright green that eek up the dead bark, and the water burns with teeming, bright green, acidic rivers. It slows the travel a bit. They notice quickly that the water is incredibly acidic, and may even do damage to the vehicle if they sank into any of the marsh.

They find themselves in a small clearing dilapidated by an ancient battle. But there are also signs of a recent battle. Skulls and bones are cut to pieces, the skeletons of orcs carved to bits. There are torched remnants of an orcish camp, and a collapsed canyon with stones scorched by fel fire.

However, it’s clear this battle will be very quickly resolved. The red and violet blur of Loramus is darting around, cleaving through risen remains of orcish skeletons. The blades cleave directly through the bodies, and he then hurls the glaive at the remaining two skeletons--decapitating them--before the glaive returns to his hand.

Loramus looks toward the vehicle, and his eyes flare with fel fire beneath his deep violet scrim.

Nyxxa says: There he is.

The vehicle stops, and some of the group piles out.

Nyxxa says: Hello again. Sorry.

She offers a wave.

Loramus Thalipedes says: So you aim to steal my hunt, then?
Nyxxa says: Not entirely. We’re more on a rescue mission… the Alliance scouts you mentioned.
Loramus Thalipedes says: The elves who got over their heads.
Nyxxa says: For the purpose of my mission, I need to rescue them.
Loramus Thalipedes says: You’d be better off leaving them to their fates. Rescuing them would bring more complications.
Nyxxa says: Do you really think so?
Loramus Thalipedes says: The more you attempt to accomplish, the more chances there are for things to go wrong. To slay a demon is one thing. To slay a demon while rescuing its captives is another.
Nyxxa says: I intend to rescue them. It’s integral.
Loramus Thalipedes says: Very well. At least you’ll provide an apt distraction while I take the questioner, Arev’naal.

Azgadaan had seen inquisitor demons before, but not often. They are reclusive, and dangerous. They are the de facto leaders of the inquisitorial division of the Legion. They are mysterious and have the ability to pry secrets from even the most strong-willed. They are incredibly unnerving, and they work closely with jailer demons--hulking brute torturers. The name, however, is unfamiliar.

Azgadaan says: So. Friend. Do you know if the inquisitor is with any jailers?
Loramus Thalipedes says: There are three at his camp. Seeing to the torment of their captors. If you want to seek their rescue, you will have to come to blows against them.

The jailer demons, Azgadaan knows, are more of a public face. They are brutes, and are large and powerful fiends that are as cruel as they are strong. If they grab you, they will try to cage you, and if they cage you… that’s bad. They are incredibly dangerous in short range.

Azgadaan offers this information to the group.

Nyxxa says: That… may be a problem. One of them is one of the elves I met before when I was doing things I shouldn’t…
Azgadaan says: More reasons to decimate that camp of demons.

Nyxxa looks at Loramus.

Nyxxa says: Do you know what they are trying to do here?
Loramus Thalipedes says: I’ve been unable to do advanced scouting, but I know that this inquisitor serves the nathrezim I hunt. It’s my belief he knows its true name. I would pluck that information from its head, or its soul.
Azgadaan says: I have some enchantments that could maybe help…
Loramus Thalipedes says: If I need your assistance demon, I’ll ask.
Azgadaan says: Happy to help.
Nyxxa says: I could scout, but I don’t think you want me in your way…
Loramus Thalipedes says: Do as you wish. If you wish to scout and learn more, by all means. But when things turn, I’ll be there to take his soul.

Nyxxa nods.

Nyxxa says: If we’re both focusing on different things, we shouldn’t get in each other’s way.
Loramus Thalipedes says: We’ll see how you fight, satyr. See if the Slayer taught you well.
Nyxxa says: It’s been a while since I went all out.
Loramus Thalipedes says: We shall see.

The group briefly talks of their plan, which involves Nyxxa scouting and Azgadaan using his clout to perhaps get the rest closer.

Loramus Thalipedes says: I will follow you and keep to the shadows. If you mess this up for me, I’ll handle it. Just don’t… don’t disappoint the Slayer.
Nyxxa says: I don’t intend to.
Loramus Thalipedes says: Good.
Azgadaan says: Any actions we should avoid taking?

Loramus looks at Azgadaan.

Loramus Thalipedes says: Dying, for starters, demon. You do not benefit from your immortal soul in this world. Something I would remind you of.
Azgadaan says: I don’t plan on ever dying.
Loramus Thalipedes says: No one does, demon.

Loramus sheathes his glaives and disappears into the trees to follow. The group creeps closer to find a good place to camp for the night. The vehicle takes some damage from the swamp, and some does slosh inside, splashing some of the party in the process

All of a sudden, the vehicle comes to a halt as it slams into something, and they can hear something turning, and sounds on top of the vehicle. The back doors swing open, and there are two elves. One has a bow drawn, and the second has two knives.

The first elf has long black hair that is tied back--it’s Kayn Sunfury. The second one is a younger elf with long, messy gold hair and a scar over one of his eyes.

Nyxxa holds her hands up and leaps in front of the rest of the party.

Nyxxa says: Wait! Khadgar sent me to rescue you guys. H-hi again, Kayn.

Kayn points the weapon right at Nyxxa, and his eyes widen. He instinctively lets the arrow fly, and Nyxxa grabs it out of the air.

Then Kayn lowers the bow.

Kayn Sunfury says: You’ve gotta be kidding me.
Nyxxa says: Nope.

Kayn grabs the arms of his fellow.

Kayn Sunfury says: Stand down, kid. Elburn, get off the vehicle.

Nyxxa climbs out of the vehicle to meet them.

Meanwhile, back with Arthak and Azuka, they had rested and continue onward to the basin around Hellfire Citadel. The fortifications have spilled into the courtyard, and there are orcs and demons alike visible all around the fortress.

However, Arthak chooses to go first to where Dranosh had been put to rest. Or at least try to. However, things are different. For a bit, he starts to believe that Dranosh’s memorial was just gone. Until Azuka finds a small, smooth stone beneath the reddish dirt.

Arthak kneels down and brushes the dust off the stone. It’s a small cairn. Upon it, engraved, he can see the small words that Varok had written. Some of them are gone, but the name is still there.

Azuka Stormbreaker says: Is that it?
Arthak Saurfang says: It is.

Arthak stands there, looking at the stone in contemplation. Veena flits down and reaches out. She places a twig-like hand on Arthak’s armored bicep. She looks at Arthak, her five eyes blinking.

Veena says [telepathically]: Dranosh?

Arthak looks at Veena, and then nods.

Veena looks down, and the petals of her wings rub together in a quiet, almost solemn song. She tentatively reaches out and touches the stone, and there is a soft glow of violet, pink energy. Moss begins to grow over the rock, accentuating the writing. Lavender lichen is nestled in with the green.

Arthak grunts.

Azuka Stormbreaker says: I’m sorry.
Arthak Saurfang says: It is what happens.

Azuka’s hand reaches forward and brushes against the plates of her armor, but she retracts the hand. She opts to back off to give Arthak some privacy, and calls for Veena to follow her.

Arthak stands there for a few minutes.

Arthak Saurfang says: Your father… wanted me to come here. He wants you to know you are the reason he hasn’t given up. But I… but I know you’re not here. I’m going to get you out, brother. I’m going to destroy it and get you, and then, then I’ll tell you.

Arthak stands in silence for another couple moments then turns to walk away. Summerpaw senses a mournful presence and she rears her head back and howls, and then nuzzles close to Arthak.

Arthak Saurfang says: Thank you. And… thank you, Veena. That was… kind.

Veena flutters before Arthak’s face and nods in understanding. Azuka looks up at the citadel.

Azuka Stormbreaker says: Veena, you should make yourself scarce. We’ll find you later.

Veena nods again and then flutters up and away, leaving just Azuka, Arthak, and Summerpaw. A number of rylaks and felbats with riders seem to have been drawn to Summerpaw’s howl, and they are watching the group.

Arthak observes them for a moment, but then starts to head toward the main gate of Hellfire. A felbat starts to swoop down. About 100 feet from the gate, he can see the felbat land. A fel orc dressed in golden steel armor arrives on its back. He is missing both hands, one replaced with a blade, and the other replaced with a chain wrapped around the felbat’s neck.

As the felbat swoops low, the fel orc released the chain, and it retracts into the contraption on his arm, allowing him to land beneath it. He is covered in ornate scarrations. He laughs.

Fel Orc says: Well, well, well. If it isn’t Arthak Saurfang. You’ve spilled a fair amount of blood on this soil, cowardspawn.
Arthak Saurfang says: I like the chain mechanism. Interesting design.
Fel Orc says: Do you think so? I have to say… the Maker doesn’t mess around with his projects, that’s for sure.
Arthak Saurfang says: So. You are…?
Fel Orc says: The name’s Gargolmar. I don’t think you know me. But I know you. We drank together once, briefly. When Kargath forced you. Before the Dark Portal’s opening. Tell me. How is the old bastard?
Arthak Saurfang says: Deceased.
Gargolmar says: Please tell me you had the privilege.
Arthak Saurfang says: I did.

The orc starts to cackle.

Gargolmar says: That’s the best fucking thing I heard all week. You know, you were in his top five.
Arthak Saurfang says: To kill or to be killed by?
Gargolmar says: There was no difference, Arthak. Tell me, sate my curiosity. Who leads the clan now?
Arthak Saurfang says: Gordula.
Gargolmar says: Is that so? We’ll have to see how well that works. You know, there are people that think she was one of Kargath’s bastards, but the Shattered Hand doesn’t work like that. She’ll have to fight tooth and claw if she wants to hold on to us crazy motherfuckers. Not that that matters to me! She may be dead by the time I see that luscious world! So, what brings you here, cowardspawn?
Arthak Saurfang says: Reporting in. I’m going to be operating in Outland for a time. We have business. Wanted to check in at Hellfire. See what changed. Get an idea of the status of things.

Gargolmar smiles and approaches.

Gargolmar says: Is that so? There’s so much to do in this world. They say our home is broken, but I think they just fixed it. So much to do, so much to bleed and kill. I mean, look at this place!

He gestures to the citadel.

Gargolmar says: They’ve transformed it into something much more interesting. Perhaps you’ll see it for yourself, if you’re interested? But, you know, as the orc in charge of the ramparts defense, so I decide who enters. And the blade that took Kargath’s head… that sounds too good to pass up. Forgive me for indulging myself.

The doors behind Gargolmar open, and his teeth grit.

Gargolmar says: Who opened this gate? I didn’t say to open it!

Arthak sees a familiar figure--the crimson skin and imperious visage of the fallen vindicator, Velhari.

Velhari says: You would know better than to speak to me such a way, worm. You are in charge of the defense, but you do not say when this gate opens. You forget yourself, orc.

The fel orc growls, but bows his head.

Velhari says: Arthak Saurfang. I was told you would be coming. It is an honor to welcome you here once again. I welcome you to enter if you wish, my friend.
Arthak Saurfang says: Good to see you again, Velhari. I would be delighted to.
Velhari says: As it turns out, my last visitor is just leaving now.

Another figure steps out next to Velhari. It’s another eredar with deep violet skin. He isn’t wearing the same armor, but instead he has more simple garb. It’s Rakeesh.

Rakeesh says: Well, well, well. What a delightful surprise, Arthak.
Arthak Saurfang says: Lord Rakeesh.

Rakeesh looks back to Velhari.

Rakeesh says: I thank you once again, Tyrant, for your utmost hospitality and the tour. I daresay that may be useful information.
Velhari says: Of course, high general. You know you are always welcome.
Rakeesh says: Of course. Take care of things, and farewell.

Rakeesh steps down the rampart.

Rakeesh says: I daresay Velhari will be a most adequate host for you, Arthak. And you will find the things within most enlightening. Lovely seeing you again.

As he passes Arthak, he puts a hand on Arthak’s shoulder, and he mentally presses against his mind. Arthak allows the connection.

Rakeesh says [telepathically]: Mind shielding… wise. I would speak with you. My ship is in the Zangarmarsh in the Dead Mire… I have information about your old friend Kaylaan. It would be worth your while.

Arthak gives him a shallow nod.

Arthak Saurfang says: Until next time.

Rakeesh smiles, and then continues down the rampart.

Meanwhile, Arthak walks past the fel orc.

Arthak Saurfang says: Better luck next time.
Gargolmar says: I’ll hold you to that, Saurfang.
Arthak Saurfang says: You seem enthusiastic. I imagine we’ll find time.

Arthak enters the citadel after requesting Azuka stay with Summerpaw, and the doors close behind them, leaving Summerpaw and Azuka outside.

Velhari says: A thousand pardons for his enthusiastic greeting.
Arthak Saurfang says: I’ve… known enough Shattered Hand in my time. I take it as a compliment and nothing else.
Velhari says: He is good at his job. Perhaps a bit too enthusiastic, but he will be dealt with if it becomes a problem. I trust your journey was otherwise peaceful?
Arthak Saurfang says: Actually. It’s not a major concern, but next time you speak with Lady Shaspira. I would request you pass one something. While I was traveling, it seems the warchief has gotten around to trying to murder me. It was handle, but I imagine that would be pertinent.
Velhari says: I see… I shall inform her on my next report. However, I am not directly reporting to her at the present. It may be some time. But I will ensure to do so nonetheless. She is quite fond of you.
Arthak Saurfang says: She has been kind.
Velhari says: I would trust her kindness has not gone unappreciated by you and your companions.
Arthak Saurfang says: I do not forget my debts.
Velhari says: Of course. I sense there is more you came here for. What can I do for you, Arthak?
Arthak Saurfang says: Well. I imagine you’ve been informed that me and a select group of my associates will be operating here for a time.
Velhari says: I heard. You seek to intercept the leviathan that seeks to claim this land as her own?
Arthak Saurfang says: Sinestra, yes. That is one thing. I also have a village of my clan who were previously stranded, but now intend to stay. I need to ensure that they will be… prosperous here.

Velhari nods, leading Arthak deeper into the citadel.

Velhari says: Of course. This world is under the protection of Lord Mannoroth now. I have no doubt he would be more than willing to accommodate the civilianship of your village once he knows they seek not to threaten his order.

At that moment, they hear a bellowing roar that shakes the walls of the citadel. Velhari looks up, but otherwise makes no notice of it. A few orcs and a few small demons stop and freeze for a second, but then they shake it off and go back to their business.

Arthak Saurfang says: Well. I can assure him that we have no intention of causing trouble. Quite the opposite. Our main focus is on expanding into Azeroth, but having a position in Outland seems profitable at this stage. Though I would question… my people have reported they have had issues with fel orcs in the area.
Velhari says: That is possible. Whether they are scouts under Battlemaster Bloodboil’s command, or independent fel orcs that have shirked the rule of our lord, it is difficult to say. If we seek to rectify this, perhaps it would be best if you speak to him yourself. I would not speak of Sinestra without his input, after all.
Arthak Saurfang says: It’s probably for the best. If we’re going to deal with her, it’s not going to be a one organization task.

Velhari nods.

Velhari says: Of course. If you would be so kind, then, we shall descend into his chambers in the bowels of the citadel.
Arthak Saurfang says: Lead the way.

Another roar shakes the citadel as they head deeper into the citadel. Arthak sighs and lights a cigarette. There are a lot of changes to the citadel, and as the roar echoes again, they can see steam pour off strange steel contraptions. A wash of heat and liquid go through the pipes, and there is the sound of more screaming, but this is orcish in nature.

Arthak Saurfang says: So.. I’m taking a guess that Gargolmar’s enhancements are becoming common?

Velhari smirks.

Velhari says: That is correct. One of the operations that is occurring is the consolidation of Lord Mannoroth’s forces. He will need soldiers and weapons, and this citadel is positioned to provide both.
Arthak Saurfang says: And he can mix the two.
Velhari says: With the brilliance of the Legion’s technology, anything is possible. It’s a bit… garish for my liking, but I cannot refute its effectiveness even if I would prefer to rely on belief and strength instead of artificially given enhancements. But weapons are weapons. Without a sword, a soldier can’t hope to best their opponents.
Arthak Saurfang says: It would be helpful if a soldier could hold a spoon to feed themselves.
Velhari says: That it would. If they had need to eat.

There is another roar, and Velhari leads Arthak down the corridor for a while. After a while, Arthak starts to hear very heavy panting. Eventually, they arrive in a massive, dungeon-like chamber. There are no light sources aside from bright green liquid running through translucent pipes. In the very center, dimly lit by the afterglow of the emerald flame, is the biggest pit lord Arthak had ever seen. He is easily a full head taller than the others. His skin is a dark, earthen green, and he is in some strange chain-like contraptions. His arms are suspended in strange mechanisms, needles the size of Arthak’s sword jutting into his wrists.

Once more he roars, the needles drawing his blood, and as the blood slows, he takes in deep breaths.

Arthak’s heart skips a beat, something intimately familiar about the monster before them.

Mannoroth says: Tyrant Velhari… what is the meaning of this interruption?

Mannoroth pulls his hands out of the mechanisms, and his arms start to drip bright green blood, his hooves slamming into the ground. He rubs the wounds on his wrists as they close.

Velhari bows.

Velhari says: Lord Mannoroth. The chieftain of the Broken Blade clan has come to your world and sought an audience. His people seek to live under your protection, and he too seeks the head of the dragon Sinestra.

Mannoroth spits at the name of Sinestra, phlegm the size of an orc child hitting the ground.

Mannoroth says: Speak not her name before me, Velhari.
Velhari says: My apologies.

The demon looks at Arthak.

Mannoroth says: You… I know of you.

Mannoroth leans down, sniffing at the air in front of Arthak.

Mannoroth says: Hahaha… yes, I know you. Son of Broxigar. You… I know.

Mannorth smiles, each tooth the size of Arthak’s head, and stands up to his full height.

Arthak Saurfang says: And I know you, Lord Mannoroth.

Arthak also bows.

Mannoroth says: Yes. Yessss. Your people seek amnesty. Protection. I can provide that, for they are mine, as are you. As is this world. And I protect what belongs to me. You seek the destruction of Sinestra, the black wyrm that feebly attempts to stake claim to my domain.
Arthak Saurfang says: We have unfinished business, and she is a threat to my people.
Mannoroth says: She is a threat to my people. And for that, she. Will. Die. I will break every bone in her body, drain her body of every fluid, and impale her head upon a stake for her children to mourn as I shatter their souls, and you, son of Broxigar, you will help me. When the time is right, my strength shall be bolstered by your own, and we shall crush that false leviathan, and take everything she loves from her. As payment for what her kin took from me, and for what she seeks to stake a claim upon. And you will not fail me. The son of Broxigar. Strong blood runs through your veins, Saurfang. Do not disappoint me, or I shall replace it with something more reliable.

Mannoroth smiles a sharp, dangerous grin. At best, Arthak could hope he would just kill him, but at worst, he couldn’t guess. However, Arthak’s blood hurts.

Arthak looks up at Mannoroth, meeting his gaze as best as he possibly can, and he nods.

Arthak Saurfang says: I am more than my father’s blood, and I do not disappoint.
Mannoroth says: Yes. Good. Then I imagine your people will not as well.

There was a veiled threat there.

Arthak Saurfang says: Understood, my lord.
Mannoroth says: Begone. I would recover. My soldiers, my orcs, will have need of me again. Very, very soon.

Velhari nods and bows, as does Arthak, and they leave. As soon as they do, Arthak is lighting another cigarette.

Velhari says: He is terrible and magnificent in his brilliance. To have received of his blessing… it is no wonder the orcs are such a potent force.
Arthak Saurfang says: He is... responsible for much of what we have become. I was not aware it was Lord Mannoroth that offered the original blood.
Velhari says: It was his gift, yes. He is the lord of his people. Even those who partook in the ritual before the opening the Dark Portal are tied to him. All of the rest… he is lord of them all. To behold a creature of such strength… it is sobering. It steels my soul knowing my foolish kindred, the traitors to my people, they too will see in time.

Velhari looks to Arthak.

Velhari says: As you have reported to the lord of this world, you may do as you wish. Do you need lodgings, or will you not be staying long?
Arthak Saurfang says: If it is no trouble, I might be here for a few days. If you have any reports or information as to other goings on, I would interested in going over them if you are fine sharing them with me.
Velhari says: Of course, I will ensure you and your… child? Are taken care of and want for nothing here in the Citadel, and I will share with you what I know. What we have accomplished, and what we seek to accomplish.
Arthak Saurfang says: Oh. Gargolmar referred to a Maker.
Velhari says: Yes, the mo'arg in charge of research and development. He… is a peculiar one. So paranoid he hides any semblance of his true name from all. He is the one responsible for outfitting Lord Mannoroth’s armies.
Arthak Saurfang says: His work is interesting. If he has time or interest, I would be interested in meeting him.
Velhari says: Of course. When he is not busy, I am certain you would be able to do so.

Arthak is able to find out that Hellfire Citadel and the Black Temple are the two strongholds currently in operation on Outland, and there is a lot of manufacturing going on in various forge camps and forge bases, such as fel reavers. The one in charge of that process is a woman named Mar’tak. There is also a terrorfiend around with bright violet skin named Omor the Unscarred who serves as the temple liaison. Gurtogg Bloodboil is the fel orc battlemaster Velhari had referenced. Zakuun is a fel lord, and a legion battlemaster. There is also an observer named Broggok around, ensuring that no one gets out--if they have second thoughts, you might say. There is also Dia Darkwhisper, a fel orc warlock, and Shadow-lord Iskar, an arakkoa, who are representatives of the Shadow Council. Notably, Iskar is tall and has wings. He isn’t broken like many of his kin.

When Arthak returns to Azuka, she senses the vaguely haunted look on his face. That night, both Arthak and Azuka are woken up by terrible nightmares. Arthak is pretty sure Mannoroth appeared in it.

Meanwhile, Kayn is ordering everyone out of the vehicle. Nyxxa quickly looks for scrying, and sees nothing.

Nyxxa says: We’re clear to talk candidly.

A white haired elf is on top of the vehicle, looking down on them scrutinizing. The youngest of the group is watching them very closely.

Kayn Sunfury says: Start talking. If we like what we hear, this won’t turn ugly.
Nyxxa says: Well. The best way to describe it is that we are on a diplomatic rescue mission.
Kayn Sunfury says: A rescue mission? What the hell is a bunch of orcs and demons and traitors doing here? Last I checked there weren’t any orcs being kept this way.
Nyxxa says: They’re here for the same intentions I was when we last met. Dissenters.
Kayn Sunfury says: Is that so? Well I heard how that went, afterwards. How do I know you’re not just trying to trick us again?
Nyxxa says: I know you won’t believe me, but that wasn’t me. They found out the escape attempt… and used it to their advantage, and I had no idea. But… we’ve come here with the intention of proving our intentions, one way or another.

Kayn scoffs.

Kayn Sunfury says: That’s a lot to unpack. You can’t expect me to believe that?
Allari Elburn says: I think they’re telling the truth. I don’t know why, or for what purpose, but I think they are.
Azgadaan says: And if you think we aren’t, you have a mage here right? She can just talk to Khadgar with sending, can she not?
Nyxxa says: Your absence has caused concern. Given what we heard about the area… it’s good to see you haven’t been captured.
Rogue Elf says: We haven’t.
Nyxxa says: I see. Well then…
Azgadaan says: Who amongst your people has been captured?
Kayn Sunfury says: A number of our other operators.
Azgadaan says: Then I guess the rescue mission is still on.
Kayn Sunfury says: If they’re still alive. I know not all are. Those monsters have been using them. Bringing them to some cavern. They don’t come back.
Azgadaan says: Then you’ve seen the encampment?
Kayn Sunfury says: We’re elves. What do you think? We’re not going to go into some place blind. But how do I know you aren’t just trying to see what we know?
Loramus Thalipedes says: Because if they did, I would kill them.

Kayn swerves around with his bow.

Kayn Sunfury says: Don’t try anything.
Nyxxa says: Careful, their first exposure was Caria.

Loramus walks forward and puts a finger on the arrow knocked in Kayn’s bow, and pushes it down.

Loramus Thalipedes says: These fools want to help you.
Kayn Sunfury says: And who the hell are you supposed to be?
Loramus Thalipedes says: I’m here to ensure their leader isn’t a problem.
Allari Elburn says: You’re going to take him alone? With all due respect, Loramus, I don’t think you can handle him alone.
Loramus Thalipedes says: I’ve been doing this for longer than you’ve been alive. I can handle an inquisitor. Stay out of my way.
Allari Elburn says: If you threaten our people, I will not let it stand.
Loramus Thalipedes says: I will not endanger your mission. Stay out of my way, and rescue your people.

The magister grits her teeth.

Allari Elburn says: Alright, fine. Why are you all planning on doing this? What’s in it for you?
Nyxxa says: I won’t speak for the rest of the party, but for me personally, I intend to start to make right the wrong that was done to your people.
Rogue Elf says: Little late for that.
Nyxxa says: There was nothing I could do at the time. But… this war isn’t over yet.
Allari Elburn says: Very well. The three of us can’t hope to take this place on our own, and if you aren’t lying, then our best bet is to form a temporary alliance. Whatever reasons you have… are your own I suppose. We’d be foolish if we were to try to do so alone, and we would be better off if we coordinate. If you betray us, don’t think you can overwhelm us.
Nyxxa says: And this will give us time to prove our intentions. Right everyone?
Azgadaan says: Sounds good to me.

Halno looks like he’s going to argue, but stops.

Allari Elburn says: Then I suppose the enemy of my enemy is my friend for now.

Kayn shakes his head.

Kayn Sunfury says: Fine. I guess we’re working with orcs and demons to take down other demons. Why not?
Allari Elburn says: Kayn. We don’t have options. It knows we’re here, and it will probably be able to follow us. We could get back to the Hold, but--
Kayn Sunfury says: It’s fine. We’ll handle it.
Nyxxa says: If the inquisitor has any information from your people, that’s dangerous to your people.
Azgadaan says: Since we are forming an alliance, I can tell you the abilities of some of the other demons in the camp. Especially if you’ve seen some of them, and your mage friend has any illusion spells and can show me, I can tell you some things. I only know of the inquisitor and jailers currently.
Allari Elburn says: We have seen as much as we can. This inquisitor seems to be one step ahead of us no matter what we do. Even at our best, he was able to find us.

The mage shows images of a fel guard and a succubus.

Allari Elburn says: The demonic temptress has already been able to charm some of our allies…

She also shows a felhunter.

Allari Elburn says: There are a few dozen that we saw, but there may be more. But there is also one of these...strange monsters. A hulking monster. A beast of burden. It’s outrun some of our farstriders. It seems immune to the acidic nature of this swamp. It’s bigger than I can even conjure.

She shows them a hulking monstrosity with blackened skin pulsing with bright green sacks of venom, a fel-infused blade on its boney skull. It has long, hooking claws.

Allari Elburn says: The temptress seems to be fond of it. I wager it’s her pet.

Azgadaan recognizes the creature as a vilefiend. It’s a semi-intelligent demon that is used as a mount, a siege weapon, and an outrunner. They are deadly, and infused with acidic fel fire that gives them resistance to acid.

The elves are watching the group cautiously, and they clearly don’t trust them, but they seem a bit unnerved about the group being so candid.

Allari Elburn says: Alright. If we’re actually doing this, what’s our plan?
Azgadaan says: We can tell you our plan, and you can bounce off that?
Rogue Elf says: Sure. Why not.
Allari Elburn says: Zaeneas… they’re our best shot here.

Zaeneas crosses his arms and rolls his eyes.

Zaeneas Emberlight says: Alright.

Azgadaan relays the plan they had previously discussed. Kayn is looking really hard for things he doesn’t like about the plan.

Kayn Sunfury says: Honestly… it may work. Alright, if you want to make a distraction, the rest of us can get into position and see if we can get ready to liberate some of the prisoners. But we’re not putting our necks on the line until this starts. You make the first shot, and we’ll be right there after.
Azgadaan says: Lets see… signal… big and flashy.
Levia Blackflight says: And how do we know you won’t just leave us high and dry?
Kayn Sunfury says: If we do, then we do.

Halno looks at Levia.

Halno says: They’re just extras at this point. We were going to do it regardless.
Kayn Sunfury says: I think you’re vastly overestimating yourselves. They outnumber us all. Look. My people are in there, and I’m not going back until I bring as many to safety as I can. If you make good on your word, we’ll make good on ours. Understood, demon?
Nyxxa says: Understood. If I need to send a signal, everyone here will hear it. But. That crash wasn’t good for my neck…
Allari Elburn says: Right. Sorry. I thought you were bringing supplies to the camp…
Azgadaan says: What did you hit us with?

He walks around and then runs into something invisible.

Azgadaan says: Ah. Wall of force. This will need some buffing out, but it’ll be fine.

The group agrees to hit the area next day, and Elburn and Loramus exchange barbed words for a moment, Allari expressing that she hopes his pursuit of vengeance doesn’t blow the situation.

Loramus Thalipedes says: Watch your tongue, highborne.

The magister then sighs.

Allari Elburn says: There’s something else you should know. He has a scythe. It seems to give him command over people. I think he’s been using it to extract even more.

The elves take off and camp a distance away, indicating they would follow the group tomorrow.

Loramus Thalipedes says: Leave the inquisitor to me. Handle the rest, and I’ll ensure he isn’t a problem.

Loramus then also leaves, and during the night, nothing seems to happen. On the third watch, Nyxxa peers around with see invisibility, and she notes a small eye around the size of an apple. It seems to be watching the group. It stays there for a while, and it’s still there when the group starts to rouse.

Outland Day 4

That morning, Nyxxa greets Azgadaan with all formality, and they head out.

Nyxxa says: Is there anything I can attend to, my lord?

Azgadaan offers her a generic response, as the eye can’t see him anyway.

Nyxxa says: Understood, my lord.

She passes a note off to Azgadaan as she leaves to inform him that the eye is still watching.

Azgadaan says: Now please be on your way.

Azgadaan strums his instrument once, and Nyxxa turns invisible before she heads off. The rest of the group gets into Azgadaan’s vehicle and heads in the direction of the camp.

Azgadaan summons Ini, and he looks around, and then his eyes hone in on something in the vehicle with them. Ini starts to pounce and swat at the eye, and he continues to search around for something he sees that is clearly invisible.

The group starts to approach the camp, and they can see demons in the open grove. Almost immediately, two felguards approach and hold their hands up to the vehicle.

Azgadaan slows and stops.

Felguard says [eredun]: State your business. We weren’t expecting supplies today.
Azgadaan says [eredun]: Just roaming this new world that was brought into our plane. What are you doing here?
Felguard says [eredun]: We are guarding. My lord, this is not a tourist attraction. I don’t believe it is wise for you to… be here. Unless you are supposed to be.
Azgadaan says [eredun]: Well. I think heading into your camp is a good idea. So whoever is in charge can brief me.

The felguards look at each other, and one grunts.

Felguard says [eredun]: If you insist. What’s your name so that we might introduce you, lord eredar?
Azgadaan says [eredun]: Prince Madul.
Felguard says [eredun]: Alright. Come with us.

The felguards gesture for the group to follow, and the group piles out to follow. Meanwhile, Nyxxa is scouting. She sees fel hounds, and she attempts to stealth around them. She sees cages. Many of them. Many are empty, but scattered around there are ones that have captives. There’s a stone slab that has been blasted open. All of the captives are elves, and none are super close to each other.

She also avoids the elf bones that appear to be the vilefiend’s nest. Nyxxa recasts see invisibility, and she notes that the eye is still following Azgadaan and the others. There are also two more patrolling around. A few jailer demons are also around. One of them is torturing one of the prisoners.

The two felguards lead the main group over to one of the jailer demons.

Jailer Demon says [eredun]: Greetings, prince. What can we do for you? I believe that you may have taken a wrong turn.
Azgadaan says [eredun]: I happened upon your camp, and I’ve been looking for someone who has been referred to as Sinestra. I’ve been commanded to find her location, or that of her minions. I’m here to see if you have information. Why not ask?
Jailer Demon says [eredun]: I see. You should know we aren’t looking into this Sinestra. We are researching other avenues. Important tools to aid in the mechanisms at work here. I would recommend Hellfire Citadel. Lord Mannoroth may have more information.
Azgadaan says [eredun]: Who do you think sent me on this mission?
Jailer Demon says [eredun]: Ah. I see. I know not what to tell you, my prince. If you would prefer… I may see to it… I can beseech the questioner. See if he will take an audience. Would that be… advantageous for you?
Azgadaan says [eredun]: That would be a grand idea.
Jailer Demon says [eredun]: Of course. Questioner Arev'naal is… busy. I can send a missive.
Azgadaan says [eredun]: I can wait a few minutes.
Jailer Demon says [eredun]: Ah… the questioner does not like to be interrupted. Had you forewarned us…
Azgadaan says [eredun]: I’ll wait.

Azgadaan opts to start playing his instrument while waiting, and Nyxxa starts to sneak closer to the cages. There’s a familiar face. It’s the third member of Kayn’s group: Sevis Brightflame.

The succubus started to mosey over to Azgadaan.

Succubus says [eredun]: Not a bad technique, but clearly you just started picking up.
Azgadaan says [eredun]: Indeed. Perhaps you know a better tune?
Succubus says [eredun]: Perhaps. I’m not all that interested… in fact, the last time I checked, music didn’t interest Prince Maduul either? When did you pick up the instrument, my lord?
Azgadaan says [eredun]: This? I got it very recently. But. It’s a fun thing to do. Doesn’t matter if I’m terrible as long as I enjoy.

The succubus is watching him with a curious, dangerous sparkle in her eye. Azgadaan starts to work a spell into the strumming of his instrument.

Meanwhile, Nyxxa is inching closer to Sevis. He opens his eyes and sees Nyxxa, and then a nearby eyeless felhunter senses the demon hunter nearby. It starts to bark, and a jailer turns to look, just in time for his head to get removed and an arrow to strike into its body.

At that moment, the succubus sees Azgadaan start to cast a spell, and her eyes narrow, and she grins.

Succubus says [eredun]: I knew it! They’re traitors! Kill them!

The three elves and Loramus then appear and start to draw attention as the succubus unfurls her whip and chaos starts.

Seeing their cover is blown, Nyxxa closes in on a felguard, her aldrachi warglaives flaring to life as she carves into the demon.

The vilefiend makes a horrendous screeching, clicking noise and starts to charge through the acid. Bile leaks from its maw, and it vomits the liquid onto Azgadaan, Levia, and Halno. They are able to avoid the majority, but the acid clings to Levia’s skin.

A felhunter charges at Nyxxa, nipping at her, but its jaws fail to connect.

Lantresor races across the pools of acid as he draws his blade. He swings down on the succubus and strikes into her chest, leaving her winded and stunned.

Allari suddenly appears nearby.

Allari Elburn says: Maybe this will cause a distraction!

A runic circle erupts beneath her, and she summons an elemental out of the acid. It then roils forward to back up Nyxxa, just in time for the felguard to punch and swing at Nyxxa, but both his blows miss as she darts beneath the blows.

The elemental formed from acid lurches forward and tries to whelm the felhunter and felguard. It manages to envelop the felhunter and drag it back into the acid.

Azgadaan, meanwhile uses charm monster on the vilefiend and a jailer, and he commands the jailer to go release one of the prisoners and the vilefiend to sit down.

Azgadaan says: Don’t hurt either of those, please. They are friends for the next hour, if you hurt them, they are not.

Levia casts a protection from evil and good on herself, Lantresor, and Azgadaan, and a glowing light connects her horns to symbolize the spell. She then drinks a potion.

The charmed jailer starts to release the prisoners, apologizing.

Halno casts slow, and manages to ensnare two felhunters within the mire of his spell.

The second felhunter near Nyxxa bites at her, but it fails to connect. Meanwhile, one of the slowed felhunters starts to close on Halno. The felguard near Lantresor punches at him and misses, but then swings his glaive around on Halno. He is able to avoid the brunt of the blow.

The succubus staggers, trying to get back in the game.

The second slowed felhunter also dashes and manages to get between Halno and Lantresor.
