Sayaad
Ancestry Traits
Size. Your size is Medium.
Speed. 30 ft.
You are a Fiend.
You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light and in darkness as if it were dim light. You discern colors in that darkness only as shades of gray.
If you are not incapacitated or wearing heavy armor, you can extend your skin membranes to slow your fall or allow you to glide. When you fall and aren't incapacitated, you can use your reaction to reduce the fall's damage to 0, and you can move up to 5 feet horizontally for every 1 foot you descend.
As an action, you change your appearance and your voice. You determine the specifics of the changes, including your coloration, hair length, and sex. You can also adjust your height between Medium and Small. You can make yourself appear as a member of another race, though none of your game statistics change. You can't duplicate the appearance of an individual you've never seen, and you must adopt a form that has the same basic arrangement of limbs that you have. Your clothing and equipment aren't changed by this trait. You stay in the new form until you use an action to revert to your true form or until you die.
Paragon Options
Barbed Hide
Barbs protrude from your head. As a bonus action, you can cause small barbs to protrude all over your body or cause them to retract. While the barbs are out, any creature that touches you or hits you with a melee attack while within 5 feet of you takes 1d6 piercing damage. Additionally, at the start of each of your turns while the barbs are out, you deal 1d6 piercing damage to any creature grappling you or any creature grappled by you.
Flames of Sayaad
You learn to call on hellfire to serve your commands. You gain the following benefits:
- The saving throw DC to end a burning condition you inflict is equal to your Spell Save DC.
- Whenever you cast a spell that deals fire damage, you can cause flames to wreathe you until the end of your next turn. The flames don't harm you or your possessions, and they shed bright light out to 30 feet and dim light for an additional 30 feet. While the flames are present, a creature that touches you or hits you with a melee attack while within 5 feet of you takes 1d6 fire damage.
Infernal Constitution
Fiendish blood runs strong in you, unlocking a resilience akin to that possessed by some greater fiends. Choose two of the following damage types: acid, cold, fire, lightning, poison. You have resistance to chosen damage type.
If you chose poison, you have advantage on saving throws you make to avoid or end the poisoned condition on yourself.
If you are already resistant to these damage types, you may choose from the following options:
- You are immune to fire damage.
- You are immune to poison damage and the poisoned condition.
Lash of Pain
You are an expert at inflicting pain on your toys. Once per turn, you can deal extra shadow damage to a creature you hit with a weapon attack if that creature is within 5 feet of one of your allies that isn’t incapacitated, or if you have advantage on the attack roll. The damage is a number of d6s equal to equal to half your proficiency bonus (rounded down).
Magic Resistance
You have advantage on saving throws against spells and other magical effects.
One Thousand Lives
You have worn a thousand faces and have an intrinsic understanding of what it is to be. You gain the following benefits:
- You ignore the ancestral prerequisite on items and other game mechanics.
- When you use your action to change your ancestry, you can gain any number of traits from the ancestry you become. You keep these traits until you change your form again. You can copy traits with a point cost equal to your proficiency bonus. Once you do, you cannot do so again until you finish a long rest.
Seduction
When a creature you can see makes an attack roll against you, you can use your reaction to impose disadvantage on the roll. You must use this feature before knowing whether the attack hits or misses.
You can use this trait a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.
Using this trait reveals your nature as a sayaad to any creature within 30 feet that can see you. Any creature who sees you and didn't know you were a shapeshifter must make a Wisdom saving throw (DC = 8 + your Charisma modifier + your proficiency bonus) or be charmed or frightened (your choice of you until the end of your next turn.
