Neri Sharpfin was the kelfin leader of the Unshackled, an aquatic group of freedom fighters that helped to save those that fell upon hard times.

Description

Neri was short statured with overly large, webbed hands and feet that helped to propel her effortlessly through the water. She wore minimal clothing to reduce the amount of drag in the water, but she normally had a double set of daggers. She had very large fin-like ears with red-orange webbing, and her hair was a deep navy blue and kept short and shaggy. Her eyes were a focal point, as they were bright yellow against the deep ocean colors of the rest of her body, and her blue skin was scattered with scales.

Neri cared deeply about her people and was willing to put herself at great risk in order to protect them. She was scrappy and firm in her beliefs, but largely open minded when it came to those that needed help. She could take a joke, but was quick to call people out for cruelty.

Biography

Chapter Five: Civil War

Neri was one of the members of the Unshackled that allowed themselves to get captured by Zar'jira's forces at First Home along with the blademaster Okani in the hopes they could find an opportunity to break themselves and the rest of their people out. That opportunity came in the arrival of Arthak Saurfang and his warband when they aided Zar'Kaa and the other Darkspear in saving their own people from Zar'jira's clutches. When the jailers were distracted by the assault of the warband, Neri managed to free herself, Okani, and then hurried over to help the rest of the prisoners before she and Okani left to take the remainder of the prisoners to the safe space that had been carved out for the refugees of First Home.

Following Zar'jira's defeat, Neri saw to her people and ensured everyone was safe and accounted for, which included a mix of aquatic creatures such as gilgoblins like herself, murlocs, and even a singular sea giant. Zar'Kaa, Arthak, and Nyxxa took the opportunity to speak to her briefly, and Zar'Kaa asked about her people as he had only really associated with the surface goblin cartels, but she didn't have much to say about her land-dwelling kin. She thanked Zar'Kaa and Arthak again for their help, and she turned her attention to a group a murloc that appeared to be arguing. She explained to those who could not understand them that the murlocs were trying to figure out where they should go next, and she pointed out a very young murloc that she said had been an offering from the murlocs that served Zar'jira. The other murlocs had seemingly labeled him as cursed as a result.

Nyxxa immediately offered to take care of the young murloc, much to Neri's surprise.

Arthak expressed that his own people hoped to settle to the west on Kalimdor in the future, and if there were more people Neri found in need of a home, he would ensure the Horde was open to them. Neri confirmed that once the Horde got settled, she'd likely be in touch, as it was never a bad thing to have friends on the shore as her own organization, the Unshackled, was something of a channel that ensured those that fell on hard times could find a home. Soon after, Neri and her people slipped back into the sea.
