"When the fighting was done, Dath'Remar stood painted in demon blood. As night fell, we knew that more battles remained, and yet, with this elf and this blade among us, we held out hope that victory did not lie beyond our grasp."

Felo'melorn is an ancient, Highborne runeblade that was formally wielded by Dath'Remar Sunstrider before the events of the War of the Ancients. It was ultimately passed down through the Sunstrider dynasty, and is now in the possession of the current king of Quel'thalas - Kael'thas Sunstrider. It's said the sword has the ability to harness the very essence of flame.

History

According to ancient rumors, it was said that the image of the blade was first dreamed by a young Dath'Remar Sunstrider. In time, Dath'Remar would describe the blade he had seen to the renowned magesmith Luminarian, who in turn was tasked with crafting the weapon within an arcane forge. when Dath'Remar joined the Kaldorei Resistance during the first invasion of the Burning Legion, he did it with Felo'melorn in his hands, and the weapon brought hope to the night elf defenders. Eventually, it became legendary and known as the sword of king and the bane of trolls.

Felo'melorn was eventually passed down to Anasterian Sunstrider, who wielded it against the Amani trolls. Troll witch doctors set about casting hexes and curses against the infamous weapon, but rumors hold that even the darkest voodoo magics did little to negate the fury of Felo'melorn during the troll wars. Some say that over a thousand Amani trolls fell before Felo'melorn's fury, spilling enough Amani blood to brim the walls of Zul'Aman.

When Anasterian and most of his family were killed in the mass assassination that heralded the start of the Second Troll Wars, the blade came to the hands of his youngest son, Kael'thas, as he had evaded death due to his presence in Dalaran.
