December 5th
As the forces regroup to take on the threat of the emerged Ragnaros, Windsor moved to back up Uther and Ragnaros summoned a sphere of magma. It exploded over the sphere and knocked Uther, Vel, and Luma to the ground. Kuldath then strafed over the bubble and released his magma breath again.
General Angerforge started to throw hammers at Gil as Ragnaros continued to hurl magma at the group.
Gil conjured an [Illusory Dragon].
He reached out and tried to crush the spell, but Gil tapped into the brand he had gotten and pushed past Ragnaros’s own power to force the spell through. A large icy dragon materialized with a roar, which caused many of Ragnaros’s minions to recoil, it then reared back and released a cone of icy breath. Even the mighty Ragnaros seemed to flinch away from the cold.
Gehennas hurled a [Fireball] at the group and it exploded against the watery sphere. Ragnaros continued to hurl spheres of magma, and this time Vel and Luma were able to erect arcane shields against the blasts.
Luma got back to their feet and lined up a shot at Kuldath. The shot hit true, and Luma then used [Healing Word] over the group. However, they realized Uther was unable to be healed.
Elissa conjured a [Bless] over the group and she also headed towards Windsor and Uther. Ragnaros hurled another sphere of lava.
Victor hurled a [Mind Blast] at Gehennas, and Victor’s eyes turned dark as the flamewalker was completely incapacitated before he turned on Kuldath and leaped at the dragon with a series of furious strikes.
He drove his sword even deeper into the dragon, who roared in pain, as Victor landed back on the ground. Meanwhile, Ragnaros looked at Uther, who was burning.
He harnessed his magic and Uther felt the fire on him sear to a fever pitch. However, Uther held his shield out and used [Counterspell], which severed the magic. Ragnaros scowled.
He used [Flame Strike] on Uther, but he once more ducked under his shield. He got to his feet and rushed over to Victor flank his back.
The flamewalker faithful continued to surge forward, and Windsor started to punch as many of them as he could.
Vel steadied herself in the water sphere and her eyes flashed as she swirled the magic around her. A massive runic circle materialized across the battlefield as she used a [Freezing Sphere] that exploded in icy energy. The damage severely harmed the flamewalkers and Ragnaros erected a fiery shield to help protect himself from the frigid cold.
He held his hand out at Luma, and he stripped her fire immunity from them.
The icy dragon Gil had summoned continued to breathe frost over the battlefield, and Gil lined up a shot as Gehennas was starting to conjure his magic. Gil struck him right through the eye, and the flamewalker crumpled to the ground.
He then aimed at Kuldath and fired his earthwarder shot, and Kuldath’s wings started to calcify, dragging the dragon to the ground. Ragnaros hurled more flaming spheres at the group, and Vel was able to use the residual magic to freeze the water and shield herself, but Luma was hit with the full blast now that their immunity was stripped.
As Kuldath fell from the air, Victor slammed into the dragon pushing its head back, and then drove his sword up through the dragon’s jaw. Kuldath shrieked and flailed as the dragon fell to the ground, dead, and then Victor launched himself off the ledge at Angerforge. He landed on top of the corrupted dwarf, kicking him in the face and starting to spar with him.
Windsor started to shatter some of the frozen flamewalkers as he dove into the midst of the swarm.
Ragnaros raised up Sulfuras and brought it swinging down at Victor. The man’s eyes widened.
He did an immaculate flip out of the way as the massive hammer slammed into the ground, missing him as the man landed.
Luma lined up their gun and shot Shazzrah, and they then used [Healing Word] over the group again.
Ragnaros looked down at Victor.
He surged forward and seized Victor up in his hand.
The swarm of flamewalkers dove for the spellcasters.
He grabbed one of the flamewalkers, but the others started to mass around Luma and Gil. However, Elissa drew out her ring and blasted the flamewalkers with shooting stars. The stars exploded over them, leaving only about a third of their original number.
Ragnaros focused a blast on Luma, knocking them to the ground and chipping their glasses.
Shazzrah attempted to dispel the illusory dragon, but he was unable to overcome the magic.
Ragnaros swung Sulfuras and a massive wave of lava swept over the group. Elissa called out to Luma and held out her hand. Luma was encased in an ephemeral flower bulb, which absorbed any damage that they would have taken.
Elissa was panting.
However, anyone that was covered in the lava were embedded in hardening lava rock. Ragnaros threw Victor to the ground, and he landed right in front of Angerforge. Angerforge chipped into him with his maul.
Uther slammed his hammer into the hardened magma on him, freeing himself and giving him free reign to slam into the swarm of flamewalkers with an explosion of holy energy caused by driving his hammer into the ground. The light completely consumed the flamewalkers and passed effortlessly through his allies.
Ragnaros was focusing on Victor as he brought his hammer slamming down.
Windsor grinned over at Uther after such an immaculate display of the Light, and he approached the edge of the
He slid down the side of the cliff and charged straight for Ragnaros. Ragnaros reached out and grabbed Windsor and pulled him up to his face.
Vel swam forward and used [Vortex Warp] to teleport Victor out of harm’s way and deposit him by Luma and Uther, and then she used [Toll the Dead] on Angerforge as the echoing sound of a banshee’s scream could be heard.
He fired a blast of hyper-focused fire at the watery sphere, polluting it with a cloud of noxious ash.
Victor used [Mind Blast] targeting Ragnaros through the smog, and the magic seared through Ragnaros, but the massive firelord raised his hands and the veil to the Firelands thinned as meteors rained from the sky. However, in the four points of impact, there were super heated spheres of magma that rose and began to swirl around the battlefield. One slammed into Windsor, while another slammed into Uther.
Elissa swam to the center of the bubble and tried to move the core of the watery domain. She focused her magic on the sphere and communed with the elemental energy, effectively anchoring it to herself.
She started to move toward Ragnaros as Gil’s icy dragon released another blast of frost, which immediately broke Ragnaros’s concentration. The Fireloard roared in anger, and Shazzrah crumpled to the ground.
Gil removed himself from the magma and shot Angerforge, killing the elemental dwarf as well. Ragnaros released another explosion of fire over the group. Uther managed to close and swung his hammer, but Ragnaros was able to deflect the blows aside.
Luma used [Chain Heal] over the most injured of the group. Ragnaros tried to incinerate the magic, but Luma was able to get it off before he was able to. Windsor was able to free himself from Ragnaros’s grapple and retreated into the water to soothe his burns.
Another wave of lava swept over the group and Ragnaros ripped Gil’s resistance from him. Gil had his dragon continue to breathe frost on Ragnaros as Gil used [Heal] on Windsor and Luma, but Ragnaros ended up countering it. Gil used [Rejuvenation] on them instead.
Elissa moved forward and then used [Healing Word]. Ragnaros began to laugh.
He started to superheat but radiant energy scintilated around Uther’s shield and he hurled it into Ragnaros’s face.
Vel surged forward and conjured another [Freezing Sphere] right in Ragnaros’s face. The ice crystals began to congeal over his eyes but he surged with more fire to melt them away.
Luma fired a shot at Ragnaros, and Uther also swung his hammer into the Firelord with an explosion of holy energy. Ragnaros roared in pain and then growled in frustration.
He slammed his hammer into Uther in turn as Victor blasted Ragnaros with another [Mind Blast] and broke himself free of the lava.
Ragnaros grabbed Gil up in his hand and they felt the barrier between the material realm and the Firelands weaken even further as they felt themselves shift toward another plane. They prevented themselves from succumbing to the flames of the Firelands.
Victor continued his assault as Vel blasted Ragnaros with [Cone of Cold] and then used her claws to send a line of arcane magic through the Firelord.
Ragnaros slammed his hammer into Uther.
He sank into the lava and several elementals emerged and charged at the group, but as they entered the watery sphere, they were nearly extinguished. Out of the corner of Vel’s eye she saw the dying body of General Angerforge as he reached out for something. It was a hand cannon, and he aimed it up at Windsor, but then he dropped, and the weapon rolled to Windsor. It was like he was trying to hand him something.
Windsor picked it up.
Windsor aimed it at one Son of Flames, and it emitted a strange sound. The bullet exploded into a cascade of water.
Windsor started to cackle like a madman as he fired another son of flame and dusted them immediately. Gil blasted another Son of Flame, and then a third.
Windsor threw the gun at Luma.
Luma dropped the gun, but they rewound time and caught it instead. They aimed, and fired. The Son of Flame was also destroyed. The magma churned and Ragnaros erupted from the lava. He was brighter and hotter than before, and he emerged fully from the lava on legs.
He reached for Gil, and the Demon Soul raised on his neck. Gil tried to harness the power of the Demon Soul and he pushed through the bond and fired off a [Disintegrate]. However, Ragnaros was able to dodge.
His feet began to churn with shadow flame, and he raised his foot to stomp down as he readied himself to create a wall of fire to burn away the very soul. Vel managed to [Counterspell] the functional [Power Word Kill]. She leaped over the flames, and Uther braced himself to cover the rest of his allies.
She then grabbed the mana potion in her pocket and gulped it down. A surge of energy raced through her and she hurled another [Cone of Cold] at Ragnaros’s face as Uther cleaved up with his hammer with an explosion of radiant light.
He swung Sulfuras around at Luma, who had their new iron defender leap into the way to tank the hit. The construct was obliterated, but it stopped some of the momentum as the hammer slammed into them. Ragnaros conjured up a flow of lava that washed over Victor, Elissa, and Windsor. Victor was sent spilling black, Windsor freed himself of the hardened magma, and Elissa struck into Ragnaros, but the elemental punched her and sent her spiraling backwards.
Ragnaros reached down to grab Vel, and for a moment she disappeared beneath the hand. But she slipped between his fingers in mist form and rematerialized with another blast of freezing cold energy.
Ragnaros started to conjure living meteors, and Gil fired off an [Earth Shock]. Ragnaros pushed through it, and Vel fired a [Counterspell], but it could not take hold. Meteors rained on the group, and Windsor was dropped to the ground amongst the fiery debris.
Ragnaros had opened up a portal to the Firelands and more meteors began to rain down.
He raised the Silver Hand above his head, and motes of golden energy sparked and swirled around him. They coalesced above the hammer and created a solid mass that Uther smashed with the hammer and sent sailing into Ragnaros’s face. It was almost like there was an after image of Tyr swinging in tandem. Vel’s cold snap activated as she continued an onslaught of cold, pressing the elemental back further. Luma lined up a shot and fired the last bullet from the blunderbuss, and it exploded in Ragnaros’s core.
Victor ran forward with Elissa and he carved one of Ragnaros’s horn clean off, and he spun around and then cleaved a hand off that immediately started to regenerate.
Ragnaros staggered back, and Gil commanded his illusory dragon to keep up the assault as he took aim and fired two shots directly into Ragnaros’s eyes.
The ice coated his entire body.
The body was completely coated and froze over, but the meteors were still falling. The water elementals helped to surge the frozen elemental through the open portal and the meteors collided with his body, obliterating him through the means of his own magic.
The lava of the deep Molten Core cooled as shards of ice rained from the sky, and Sulfuras slammed into the ground. It was the only piece that was still intact beside Ragnaros’s armor, completely inert.
