Delana Sunstrider was the second wife of the former king Anasterian Sunstrider, who he took many years following the death of his first wife at the urging of his confidants. While it was clear Anasterian never loved Delana as deeply as his first wife, they ultimately had an amicable relationship, which was solidified when Delana had her only son, Kael'thas.
Description
Delana was an overall kind and soft-spoken woman that largely fulfilled a role of support for Anasterian after they were wed. She loved her son, Kael'thas, deeply and they had a very close relationship from the moment he was born, which manifested in her being a consistent, comforting presence for him despite the struggles he had with the sternness and high standards of his father.
Biography
Delana was originally from an elven noble house and was presented as one among a number of options for Anasterian to take as his second wife. Eventually, she gave him another son in the form of Kael'thas.
Death
Delana was among the casualties that triggered the start of the Second Troll Wars, and she was beheaded alongside her husband, the Ranger-General Lireesa Windrunner, and the rest of the Sunstrider dynasty that was present in Silvermoon when Zul'jin launched his attack.
