However, his operations were ended when Uther Menethil and his companions raided his stronghold Naxxramas.

Chapter Five: Civil War

When Velameestra Windrunner spoke with the spirit of Lance Beckett following his death in the outskirts of Andorhal, it was revealed that the source of the apparent plagued grain was Heigan Capless, who was the owner of Capless Feather Grains and also a mage lord of Venetia. Later on, more information was provided when Velameestra was able to charm the cultist Jack Harper, who revealed that Heigan's supposed true vision was to spread the plague to identify the strong who could overcome it.

Heigan's first appearance was actually at the Silent Auction hosted at Harold Kirtonos's estate, which was attended by the party after uncovering Heigan was a frequent attendant. However, when Velameestra got her eyes on the necromancer, she identified that he was actually a homunculus, which meant that the real Heigan was likely at his supposed stronghold of Naxxramas. Tamsin Roame had also been able to confirm that Heigan's estate in Venetia had been largely abandoned aside from a token force to make it look like it was still inhabited.
