Ordos the Burning One was formerly a shaman of the Ordon clan that sacrificed himself to the flame and in turn rose to become a demigod of his people. His body was eternally wreathed in fire and he exists in constant agony, the damage done to his flesh rendering him unable to speak, but it was an existence he welcomed with open arms.

Description

Ordos was a massive, powerful yaungol whose flesh had been charred black and whose fur and eyes burned like searing embers. He had a pair of massive horns that had cracks in them illuminated by fire, and his large nose ring and other metal adornments were also red hot. Given the burned state of his body, he was unable to reliably talk, and instead any sounds he uttered came out raspy and snapping like a crackling fire. To make up for this, he instead communicated via sign language, which was translated by his speaker and emissary Gulan. While he was capable of powerful shamanic magics, he also had extreme physical strength and preferred to wield a massive burning axe.

The yaungol fire-god fully embraced the concept of strength proving someone's worth, thus he had a great deal of respect for those that were able to triumph over the challenges presented by the Ordon even if they were otherwise outsiders to their people. He believed that the Ordon grew stronger with every triumph, thus he encouraged his people to face enemies and hardship to further steel themselves, and powerful enemies were viewed as another challenge to test themselves against.

Biography

At some point in the history of the Ordon, Ordos sacrificed himself to the fire in order to become one with the power of the flame and he was therefore reborn as a demigod amongst their people. Since that triumph, he has served as the leader of their clan.

Chapter Five: Civil War

Ordos waited at the heart of the Ordon Sanctuary and welcomed Uther Menethil and his companions in an audience after they managed to successfully climb the plunging steppes around their territory and survived the onslaught of Watcher Osu and her guard—a feat that proved them worthy enough to at least speak. He was intrigued by what the group had to say concerning the great war that was going to be waged with Arcturus Mechagon and his sea of metal monsters, but he wanted further proof of the group's combat prowess before he would consider allying with them. This challenge materialized in the ritualistic combat known as the Galyn Nadaam, during which his own champions would fight against the party's in pursuit of victory and favor.

The party succeeded in the trial with minimal harm to their own side, which stoked Ordos's excitement enough that he decided to directly challenge them himself. Ordos proved more of a challenge than his champions, but the party still proved themselves triumphant. It was enough to open the floor to negotiations, and Ordos listened to what the outsiders had to say about the war they foretold. While he originally countered that his people used the machines of Mechagon as a means to test their young warriors and destroying them completely would remove such a challenge, he was intrigued by the notion of the allied gnomes creating machines specifically to pit against their warriors, and ultimately decided to send Watcher Osu to Rustbolt to serve as his representative. Uther also intrigued him with the threat of the Burning Legion, which was said to be a great threat beyond anything they had ever faced, and he assured him that if the Legion ever came to their lands they would be met with the full force of the Ordon.

Velameestra Windrunner also requested a trophy from him in the wake of their victory, and he relented to give her the skeleton of the great wyrm at the base of their steppes as she had requested. After all, the group have proven their worth, and such a prize was deserved.

As promised, when the attack on Mechagon occurred, Ordos led the full force of the Ordon against the city and its mechanical monsters. Ordos himself made a powerful show when collapsed the ceiling of the palace just in time to intercept a massive, mechanical dragon that had reared up to face down Uther and his companions. Ordos encouraged the party to continue on to the king so that he and his people could have the fight with the mechanized wyrm.
